Thanks for the info on the Tshirt washing, Mel!
Where do you buy your gems? Also, the glittering, was it glue & glitter, or a glittery paint, or other? The purple castle shirt was my all time trip favorite. I just love it.
When you were talking about retro Disney ideas, one of my favorite Disneyland oldies, is the old Disneyland sign. Could he play around with that idea and have DisDivaLand or something catchy in the lettering? I'm a sucker for the old signage :)
I love the crown Tshirt and think it would look fabulous on a hot pink T, with glittery bling all over that crown. We are Diva royalty, of course!

I love the idea of the Retro Disneyland sign!
But hot pink scares me. :scared1:

Hi Monica
welcome! We have quite a few San Diego Diva's :)

Your piggy bank comment reminded me....I have a group of girlfriends who I met 16 years ago when we all worked at the Disney Store. We are planning a WDW trip next January. On our last getogether we decorated large card envelopes and made a calender on the back. Every Monday we all put $20 bucks into it and check it off. When we hit $100 we cash them in for a hundred dollar bill (harder to spend). This will give us plenty of $$ for our trip and is alot of fun to see it build up.

That is a great idea, Jill!

absolute favorite.[/B] That one was my vote for last year, but I lost. :sad2: LOL! Anywhos, once again, it is a genuine Disneyland vintage logo from the sixties. The only change my son did was adding the Mickey heads to the turret and banner. I love it on black, but, we wouldn't stand out, if that is what you all want. It could be made into any color tee, and the graphic colors could be changed up too, to blend in. I love it, cuz it looks like something that would have been designed now, verses years ago. Just like the castle. Contemporary, kitchy, retro! In case you all can't tell, I love vintage retro stuff. LOL. :cloud9:

I personally like black, red, bright pink, rose pink, raspberry, periwinkle blue, turquoise blue, royal blue, dark peach or coral. Except the black, the rest of the colors would stand out, and look good on practically everyone. I think once we pick out the graphic design, then we can pick out the tee back ground. That could make a big difference.:thumbsup2

Does anyone else have a design they would like to have made up? All the designs shown, were just copies of logos I found. But my son Derrick could draw up something quite different.

I will share his idea from last year. I thought it would have been fun to have a tee centered around DCA for our hunt. That was before, they started to tear the park all apart, and we couldn't have the hunt exclusively there. :snooty:

He came up with the idea to draw Minnie like the Coppertone girl. :rotfl: You know.....the one with the Cocker Spaniel pulling down her bathing suit bottoms? Anywhos, something like that would be fun too. Totally different from the rest.

All input is great! :goodvibes
(But vote on the retro design. LOL.)

As I said earlier, I am in the retro fan club (love all Shag's stuff) and really LOVE Jill's idea of the old Disneyland sign but say DisDivaLand -

Mel - could your son play around with that sign? It would look awesome on a aqua/teal shirt - a color that would stand out!

Kallie is at a friends 13 bday party today...on the invitation it said "no gifts please, bring a donation for the animal shelter". That really made me smile, especially for that age child :)
That's such a great idea.

I'm off to Las Vegas today to visit my Dad. I should get off the boards and get going - it's a long drive.

Enjoy the beautiful day, everyone!
Hope your drive went well!!

Hope your all having a great day and weekend. Just relaxing here, gonna test out some new paula deen recipes tonight, I love to cook. Should be interesting - one is a Blue Cheese Bread Pudding. Love Blue Cheese!
I love Paula Deen. One day I'd love to travel to Savannah and eat at her restaurant, "The Lady and Sons."

Were we talking about the Starbucks Cake Pops here? or was it on FB?
I want to try those! They look so cute, but the reviews I read were just so-so. I need to see for myself. :teeth:

Hello Ladies. I discovered the Divas in January. Your trips sound like so much fun I want to be a Diva.

Let me introduce myself. My name is Monica.
Hi Monica! Welcome to the group. Look forward to chatting with you!

I like that shirt too, and retro stuff is so fun!!
There are really so many ideas. It will be fun to play around and see what we end up with. I am fine with any color, except orange. lol I just see myself looking like a big pumpkin in that. lol

Love the idea of the old sign!! Aw, fond memories. :goodvibes

Jill, Your idea is really super!! I love it! We could always add the DisDivaLand font to the retro shirt design!

Bridget, that would be a great sign to change up with DisDivaLand! I love it too! We need to be careful of how many colors we use though. That is when things can get pricey. The castle shirt used 4 colors. Maybe 5 or 6 wouldn't be too much more? All things to look into.:thumbsup2

Great ideas ladies!!

Tina, You know you would look hot in "hot pink!"

Theresa, I saw the phone you blinged up. That was beautiful!

Beth, I kind of like orange, but that and yellow are colors that a lot of people do not like on them. So I agree....NO ORANGE!

That sure would be awesome!!

For anyone who hasn't gotten their glitter name from me yet, I'm having Photoshop problems so I'm done for the night. I've only got 3, maybe 4 left to do so I should be able to get them all done tomorrow.

Love the old DL sign idea! Great one!

Another color idea is red/whie/blue. In July they would blend in but in February they should stand out. Everybody prob already has some patriotic shirt in their wardrobe from some 4th of July event.

Hey Jessica!
I didn't know you were doing glitter? I haven't even got the first one pasted yet, but I sure would love me some glitter. LOL!

When you have time dear...no worries!

It also would look good on bright pink to match! :goodvibes

LOL! Me thinks we could have a color war!!

J/K! When the time comes we will put out a vote! :thumbsup2

I LOVE this!!!!! It is exactly what I was thinking, and I think it would look great on a teal shirt!

That sure would be awesome!!

I love my new blling! Thanks so much, Jessica! :yay:

LOL! Me thinks we could have a color war!!

Will this color war involve paint guns?

Hey Jessica!
I didn't know you were doing glitter? I haven't even got the first one pasted yet, but I sure would love me some glitter. LOL!

It's a subtle glitter, not the star-sparkly stuff (although I can do that, I just usually don't) and so far every single one I've done has it, it's just a little more noticeable than others. I can always amp up the glitter in the one I made for you if you'd like.

Mel I'll go back & look at the shirt & let you know what came off.....I think 3 or 4 of them.......not too bad.....but sure made me sad when I saw it!

L:love:VE the retro sign!!!! That would be soooooo cool on a shirt!!! Teal is a pretty color & would stand out nicely!!

Hello to everyone else!!!

Going back to work on the trip report.....will check back later!

Here is another one that could work. I kind of like that the letters are set into the castle. Don't like the colors though. This plate is from the 60's.

Oooh, that is a neat design! I'm with you on the colors though. It needs some pastels if you ask me, lol.

Trudi in answer to your question we haven't set anything in stone but we are shooting for leaving on Thursday Oct 14th after the girls get out of school so would be there sometime that evening and then would be in the parks Fri through Monday. We would probably do the halloween party on Fri and then I know you said you can't come till the weekends but perhaps maybe you could come that sat or sunday!! Hint Hint ;) I know we would LOVE to see you and I am sure you would love to meet our other new diva Sherrie. See I am bribing you!! ;)
Sunday would work for me and no bribbing needed.:) I'm looking forward to meeting Sherrie since we went to the same high school.
Were we talking about the Starbucks Cake Pops here? or was it on FB?

IN any event, check this out--they are so cute:

Oh I've got to try making those and I bet as soon as Disney sees them they will be making and selling them in the park.
Hello Ladies. I discovered the Divas in January. Your trips sound like so much fun I want to be a Diva.

Let me introduce myself. My name is Monica. Me and my daughter are passholders but she will most likely be moving to San Fransico in August to go to college. So I will be losing my Disney buddy. (My son who is 14 stopped getting passes last year and hasn't gone since) There are some family and friends who will go at times but me and my daughter are always up for a trip (we go at least once a month just for the day) Some don't understand why we like going so much. I am lucky and live only about 90 miles south of Disneyland so it is easy to just wake up and go for the day.

I am looking forward to getting to know all the Divas this year and meeting everyone on next years trip. I have started a Divas trip piggy bank.

Monica
Hi Monica, maybe you can come for Halloween or over Labor Day. A few of the Diva's are running the marathon and you'd be able to meet us. No, I'm not running:laughing: but my DD is.
LOL! Me thinks we could have a color war!!

J/K! When the time comes we will put out a vote! :thumbsup2

I love the vintage image, I have that pin and it's my favorite out of all of mine. Is it possible to show it against different colored backgrounds to see what might look best? I have no idea how to do stuff like that.:rotfl:

I like that design, too. But you're right, it definitely would be better in different colors.

Good evening ladies!:wave2:

I love the Disneyland retro design. It reminds me of trips as a kid. Great idea! :thumbsup2

Mel I love all the colors you mentioned earlier. Raspberry is a good one as well as coral and teal. But I am up for pretty much any color. I'm easy that way. ;)

Forgot what else I was gonna say. I took NyQuil earlier today and I have felt loopy ever since. I took a 4 hour nap (which I never do) and I still feel like I got a little buzz going still. Pathetic I know!

Tina...you're Swedish Chef siggie is so dang cute! I love him and Animal lol
