Just got home from my 12 hour shift with my stubborn mare Rowan...still no foal but we had snow/rain mix most of the night it was miserable! I am going to catch up on the DIS and then sleep for a while before I head over to the High School to paint sets for the play. Now for catching up with all of you...

Ugh, that does sound miserable! Hope things get moving with her soon so you can get some real rest!

We MUST do DL at Halloween as we have never done so before

Halloweentime at DL is my favorite! I love it, but unfortunately so does everyone else it seems. It's getting to be that October is one of the busiest times to go now.

Have become addicted to Buffalo meat of all sorts since we moved up here it is delicious and better for you than beef. How often is some thing healthier for you yummy? I sent the jerky out as Christmas gifts the first year we moved here and now I have to do it every year it was such a hit. I get mail from my family & friends all year that include checks for more jerky LOL

Huh, interesting. I've tried a buffalo burger before. Maybe I should give jerky a go too!

Both Amy (DD24) and Kari (DD23 the bride) were born in October (18th and 29th) and Halloween has always been huge at our house! We always have a party and we are "that house" with the over the top decorations. My friend is doing the trick or treat at our house this year since we will be at the wedding and don't want to disappoint the kiddos.

My birthday is October 24. Yay for October babies!! I love Halloween and now my kids love it too. They say it's their favorite holiday, and we celebrate it all month long with Halloween themed baking, movies, parties, etc.
And we are "that house", too! At least in our neighborhood. We have tons of decorations, lights, several fog machines, etc. It's so much fun.
I am so glad the schools around here still celebrate Halloween and allow the kids to have parties and dress up. So many schools now have done away with it, and it sucks.

Really pictures at a wedding? What a unique concept....no really I def will share them after the fact.

:rotfl2: Okay, I deserve that one. LOL!

Am thinking about going to the annual all class reunion in Vegas this year or next year.

I'm in Vegas! If you ever do make it out here, we should meet up for lunch or something. There's another one of the long time Divas (Jane/cheshiregirl), and one of the new ladies who just started posting who are out here as well.
My replies are in pink.

Thanks Beth!
Oooooh! A whip!! :hyper:

I love halloween as well and am so excited to go to the halloween party!! As I mentioned my mom hasn't been to the one at DL yet and I am really excited to get to go this year at the DL version. It has been at DCA the last few years. They do it in the Magic Kingdom in DW and I prefer that. That is too bad that we might miss eachother by a few days but as I said we will def get to know eachother on the thread and def looking forward to meeting you at the ladies meet next year!! :)
Kelly, I know you and your mom have been to WDW a couple times, but have you ever made it to MNSSHP?
I have only been once, but it was so fun! I would love to go back again for that sometime. It's awesome!! They have the best parade and it's kicked off with the headless horseman riding down Main Street.
You can find it on youtube. Really cool.

I hope all my Diva sisters on the West Coast, especially in the North, stay safe in the face of these tsunami warnings.

Happy Birthday, Callie. Hope your island stays dry & safe.

Thanks, Chris! :goodvibes We just drove down to the west side of the island (about 2 miles from our house) to check on the wave action, and the waves are a bit bigger than normal, but nothing all that exciting to report.

I said it on FB, but wanted to say it here too.....

Same here in NorCal. They did ask residents of Half Moon Bay to evacuate to higher ground so there were lots of cars up on Hwy 92 and Skyline they had to bring in port-a-potties. So far, only a small surge in the water levels - although Santa Cruz Harbor was hit hard - lots of boats off their moorings. I was awaken by a 6 am phone call from a friend of my husband who was worried about us (our house is right next to marsh land that is flood control - we are fine) and my husband's sailboat. But his harbor in Emeryville is fine.

Hope everyone else is fairing well!

I so wish I had gone. But then I know i would have gotten myself in big trouble, I just know it.

Sarah and I were saying that we wished you had come because they had some of the vinylmations there :) She ended up buying a case of them because it was half off.

I so hope this "group activity" happens next year I could have some cool stuff in the room when Brant & Colton arrive the day after the Diva trip. What a cool thing to get to do!

It was fun and all thanks to Jill :) It was very nice and awesome of her :)

A tag pity party, I can see it now.

A party?? Will there be Cheryl's famous jello shots?

Maybe she can be bribed with something.... like chocolate cupcakes!

Chocolate_cupcakes.jpg

Um, just ignore the bite missing from that one in the front there. I was hungry. :rolleyes1

Or maybe some hunky firemen would do the trick.... ;)
firemen.jpg

Hunky firemen?? Heck, I'll take one...or two...?:rolleyes1 :rotfl: One hunky fireman for each arm! :teeth:

Hmmm...maybe next time I am at DL I should request a hunky stud from the Wish Lounge ;) jk :teeth:

Aw, enjoy. :goodvibes

I received a text from Ms. Sally (I'm sure Wendell did too). She was worried about the tsunami and she wanted me to grab my Mom with Linda and Bree and fly out of Calif! I let her know we were all safely MANY miles inland. She's so sweet.

Other than that just trying to survive Fri. and make it to the weekend. Had a meeting (In Newport Beach--yep--closer to the ocean) this morning and now back munching down lunch--have at least one conf. call this afternoon. just took aspirin--headache!

Poor Bella got left home yesterday and today--because of meetings and too much to do. I'm hoping she can have a playdate with her "friend" Zoey at my BFF's this weekend.

Other than that, it's a great day!

My neck is still sore, but worse, I was so sick yesterday that I had to leave the school and go home. I couldn't stop throwing up. Waves and waves of nausea. It was awful.

Oh no, I hope they are both much better today!

I would LOVE a "Quiet Coyote" name tag for my signature!!! LOL!

Capri~ I hope you start feeling better.

PM'ing you!

Have a happy day, everyone! :goodvibes

Thanks, Seester! I am planning on seeing you on the next trip!
What would another trip be without the Whoo seesters???

I said it on FB, but wanted to say it here too.....

Bridget~ Happy to hear all is well for you! Is the boat still safe?

Callie~ Girl you are crazy. I would have been to frightened to go look at the waves!

Tina & Katie~ I hope you guys are ok.

Aw, that is really thoughtful of Miss Sally.

Hope your day goes by quickly and you (and Bella!) enjoy your weekend.

Not sure what your weather is there, but usually when we warm up, you do too, and it's gorgeous here right now!! Almost 80 today, and mid 70's this weekend. I'm thinking of taking the kids to the park tomorrow for a picnic. :goodvibes

I love Vinylmations too (the small ones) :thumbsup2 Half off is a great deal.

I would be tempted, but probably too chicken!

I just read this about the tsunami: :sad2:

Tsunami wave activity reached U.S. soil with Midway Island, located near the international date line and northwest of Hawaii, measuring a height of 5.1 feet above normal sea level early this morning.

The Alaskan Aleutian Island of Shemya initially reported a tsunami wave of 3.5 feet. That number later rose to 5.1 feet.

The tsunami wave reached Hawaii shortly after 3 a.m. HST (8 a.m. EST).

The Associated Press reports the tsunami measured 7 feet at Maui's Kahului Harbor. Haleiwa, located on Hawaii's O'ahu island, recorded a tsunami wave of 3.3 feet. A tsunami wave of about 11 feet was observed at Kona, Hawaii.

KITV from Honolulu is receiving reports that the tsunami pressed 75 feet inland on Hawaii's Big Island.

The tsunami was reaching the west coast of the continental U.S. and Canada at midday.

Crescent City, Calif. reported 8.1 feet, and Port San Luis reported 6.3 feet. In Oregon, Port Orford reported 6.1 feet.

According to Fox News, four people in Crescent City were swept out to sea, and as of 3 p.m. EST, one has been confirmed dead. There has been extensive damage to the harbor in Crescent City, ranging from destroyed docks to shipwrecked boats.

There has been some damage reported in Santa Cruz Harbor, Calif., as parked boats broke away from their docks. Some overturned, and many more are floating freely.

The waves will hit the west coast of Mexico from the late morning into the early afternoon. Next the waves will hit the west coast of Central and South America later during the afternoon and evening.

People should move away from the immediate coastal areas as the waves will penetrate much farther inland than the beaches, perhaps as far as several city blocks, depending on the height of the waves.

I don't really know where Crescent City is, but how sad.

Have checked on all the family in Cali and everyone is saying for the most part they are getting heavier waves but nothing dangerous (most of family is between San Diego and Ventura) I did see somewhere that Santa Cruz marina got hit pretty hard though. Hope all the Divas on the coast are safe & undamaged.

Have talked to Kari my DD23 bride and we are adjusting our October trip a bit. We will now be arriving in AZ October 5th and Anaheim October 11th (hoping for a Tuesday night Halloween Party upon arrival) and going back to Arizona on the 17th so I can join my bride to celebrate her birthday on the 18th and then get all the last minute stuff done for the wedding on the 31st.

My sister lives 70 miles down the coast from Crescent City. So far it sounds like everything is OK for her.

Sherri--is the wedding going to be in Arizona?

Another poster on the Dis--corpsebride--had her wedding on Halloween last year--she had it at one of the Disneyland Hotels. She posted a couple of pictures. Halloween is one of my fave holidays too (heck, I like em all!) and it would be really fun to see the pics of the wedding after so I'll look forward to seeing them!
