Did you guys hear that they arrested a suspect in the beating of that guy at Dodger Stadium? I hope they get the other one too--geesh, you go to a baseball game and end up in a coma! Just a bunch of thugs.

I so glad to hear that!!! It was just a senseless, stupid crime. It just makes me sad :(

Wicked is amazing--I've seen it four times!

I heart Wicked :lovestruc.

I unfortunately have seen the opposite side of the coin. My cousin started having her kids at 14, has 3 all with different dads, she has been in prison 3 different times, lost custody of her kids and now two of them are single moms. It is REALLY sad. So it is nice to see when it turns out good.

Well it sort of sounds like your cousin wouldn't have turned out too great even if she wasn't a young mother .

Unfortunately if a person doesn't have the motivation to better themselves, they aren't going to be able to take care of children. No matter what age they are.

Hey, howdy, hey, ladies!! :cool1: Happy Monday morning to you all. Hope you are all doing well. :)

Back 'atcha Beth! I love Monday's (using the power of positive thinking).

I had a nice weekend. My Mac died and I had to take it to the Apple Store to get fixed and the good part was that even though it wasn't under warranty anymore, the guy at the Genius bar waived the fees to fix it. So that saved me $188. WooHoo. And BTW, some of those guys at the Genius Bar are hotties!

Then I spent the other part of my weekend clipping coupons like Deb (great minds think alike).

I'm looking forward to the 3-day weekend this weekend!!

My daughter coupons. Best way to tell you her savings is to say she saves between 80-90% on her weekly shopping. She is not like the people on extreme coupon show no clearing out shelves for her. There are a couple of familes here that buy to extreme then give to shelters which is very nice but would not teaching the the residents of the shelters how to coupon be better. Oh well. Knowing coupons and sales usually circulate every 4-6 months she buys according.

I do go with her to help with grand daughter. Coupon shopping takes a clear mind and good focus, neither of which I have :). I used to coupon with her but darn if I can figure out how I would lose half my coupons during my shopping trips. Needless to say I have been banned from carrying any coupons or shopping lists-- ya I lose those to.

So my hat is off to the Divas that are able to spend time needed to coupon.

Hey Divas!

Just noticed something......exactly 9 months from today until our trip!!
:cool1:  :woohoo: It's like waiting for a baby...... :teeth:

Hi Ladies,

Just wanted to say hello :) I'm so sleepy....I need a nap during my break time later. I have hip hop class tonight and need to have energy! :faint:

Hope you are all doing well! :goodvibes

Ugh, I just want to cry. My brakes went out on my way to work today, thank goodness I was only a block from my house. Unfortunately I don't even come close to having the money to fix them, so now I have no idea what to do about getting to work everyday. I seriously just want to sit in the corner and cry my eyes out, but I'm so use to this bullsh** that I'm just irritated. Such is life I suppose.

I don't know anything about Kindles or Nooks, but I know Woot is selling refurbed Kindle Wireless Reading Device with Free 3G – 2nd Generations for $89.99 + $5 shipping.

Big hugs to everyone. I hope you all are having great days to cancel out my sucky one. :goodvibes

:hug::hug::hug: Hugs to you Wendy. I totally feel your pain since I have some of the worst car luck in the world!! I just hate that feeling especially when you don't have anyone around to help you out :guilty:. I would totally take you to work if I lived closer!!

That stinks Wendy. I have the "when it rains it pours" kinda luck too. I hope you get it resolved without going broke or having to ride a scooter to work...

Hi Rochelle! Good luck in class tonight. Don't fall asleep dancing. ;)

Such is life I suppose.
Yep, sometimes, life can be a real *****. I feel your pain when it comes to auto repairs. I swear, if the old mini van we are driving now breaks down, well, it's bus pass time for us. Seriously. :sad2:
Good luck and I hope it all works out for you. Things usually do in the end. And I'm just glad you were close to home and weren't hurt!

I would totally take you to work if I lived closer!!
Me, too! Although she'd probably rather walk than be seen in my old piece of crap. :rotfl2:

mommaU4;41192142 I think you need to sign up for Facebook. :rolleyes1 ;) Did you make it to Pirates? How was it? [/QUOTE said:
Yep, I saw it last night. I liked it. We saw it in IMAX 3D.

So I ended up getting the Nook and so far I really like it. I didn't want the Nook color and the main reason was I can get library books on the Nook right now. Plus I didn't really like the keyboard on the bottom of the Kindle.

Yep, I saw it last night. I liked it. We saw it in IMAX 3D.
I'm glad you liked it. Most people who've seen it said they liked it, despite the not-so-good reviews, and the absence of Orlando Bloom and Kiera Knightley. (sp?)

I think we've decided to wait for it to come out on DVD. For some reason, my kids all want to see Cars 2 instead. :rotfl:

Am I nuts for seriously thinking about going to Orlando next summer (2012) and...... *gasp*....... not doing Disney?????

We can get a timeshare in early June from my aunt for a fairly cheap price, and there is tons to do just around the resort. Plus there is so many other things to do in the area. We went to Gatorland and loved it. And I've always wanted to try an airboat ride. I'm just not sure if I'll be kicking myself for not going once we are actually there. :confused3

I also toyed with going to Universal Orlando since I've never been there, but I'm not sure there's enough there to interest me. :confused3

Hmmm, what to do, what to do....

Wendylady, I am sure you already checked but have you checked the brake fluid? It might also be a hose with a tear so the fluid is leaking out. If the brakes just went from good to the floor it seems like it is going to be fluid related. No harm in checking. If there is a college near by that has an auto shop you might be able to get work done by just paying for parts.

There must be some really nice friends that would love to help you out. It is even ok to cry for 5 mins then get a plan of attack. I sure wish cars would fix themselves but we know how well that works. GL -- it will work out.

:)

Mommau4, I think that is a great idea, doing area attractions. I would toss in universal though expecially with the new harry potter area. We used to only visit WDW and not DL. I always felt like I was missing out on enjoying the Orlando area even with spending 10-12 days each year at WDW.

On our trip around the US one year we did stop and see husbands 97 year old aunt that lived in Naples, Flordia. I was so excited to see the Gulf of Mexico-- so many shells along the beach. A day trip to tampa area resort towns would make a nice day trip to.

If you have never been to epcot --I am thinking they have an after 4 price that might be fun. There is so much to do at Epcot -- see around Orlando duing day and Epcot at night.

Wendy~ I always have my dad do my brakes for me....much cheaper than paying a shop. We go over to Napa and buy the stuff we need. Do you have anyone that knows how to do that?

The hubby and I looked for a new car today. We only had time to stop at VW and test drove an 08 Jetta (I have an 01). It was really nice, but we are still looking around. I am hoping there will be some good sales this weekend. Just last week we got the title for my hubby's truck so we can afford to trade in my car and pay a little more for one car payment. I want something a little roomier than my Jetta, but feels sporty and good for camping and long drives. We have agreed absolutely no mini vans...never again :rotfl: Any suggestions for great cars?

I did get some crappy news this morning though. So I am the leader for our church's freshman girls and last night one of my girls ran away with her boyfriend. Her parents are very upset. The pastor, myself, and her friends and parents have all tried calling and texting her and she will not respond. The only thing she did do was post on FB saying she was fine and would be back on Thursday. Apparently she missed her drama final today and her group is pissed...they posted on her page. Ahhh....silly teens. I wish they understood that people loved them.

Evening all.

Wendy I am so sorry about your car troubles. I know how you feel. I had those same problems a few months back. First my brakes went then I needed 4 new tires. I also had the battery die when the car was only a year old and I thought those things were supposed to last like 5 years (confused???) But anyway I laugh because I had a 94 expedition before my camry and it had over 100,000 miles on it so I traded it in before it started having in MAJOR issues and bought my camry with only 6,000 miles on it back in 06 so it was basically new. It was a big change for us cuz it was a small car from our big SUV but that was the LAST time gas was almost 5 bucks a gallon and everyone told me buy a toyota and they will last forever LOL. Now it is 5 years old and little things keep going wrong. I am hoping that nothing BIG goes wrong (eek!!). I hope you can get maybe your parents to help or a friend and you are back driving soon!!

Jen that is too bad about the girl in your church group. My stepdaugter ran away for over a month a few years ago so I know all too well how scary it can be. I hope she returns soon and puts her parents at ease.

Beth I think if you go you will DEF love Univ but I would go to Islands of Adventure for sure. That is a REALLY neat park in just the themeing alone and I think you would really like it. And even if you did go over to Universal it has rides and things that the hollywood version doesn't have. And I def think you could have a good time if you didn't do Disney but I know what you mean. My mom wanted to go back to go on a cruise and since I know what a HUGE deal it is to get all the way back there I told my mom I thought we would really regret if we went all the way there and were RIGHT there and didn't go. Only you know how you would feel about it but I know I personally would have a hard time being right there and not going but there is certainly a TON of stuff to do that you don't HAVE to do Disney. It is what you think your family would like. But def don't discount Univ. I truly think you would love it!!

I ended up not taking Shelby to piano today and leaving work early because I have had a stupid migraine for the last 3 days ever since we got back from the meet. I knew going and sitting in the car for an hour and a half (which is what I do while Shelby is in her lesson) was not conducive to making my headache better but probably worse so I just couldn't do it today. I felt really bad because she doesn't have a lesson next week but I just couldn't do it. They are all at swim right now as well too and I am trying to relax on the couch with my ice pack but I wanted to take a break and check in here for a minute.

Looking forward to some good tv this week. The series finale of the event is on tonight and tomorrow there is WAY too much. Season finale of Biggest Loser and Glee and then Idol and the voice. I just hope I can watch and tivo all of it. And then of course the finale of Idol on Wed. But then it is all finally over and no more tv till the fall. I am kind of glad actually cuz then we have our nights free and when can do stuff if we want in the evenings although we still have swim but it makes it nice not to have to worry about missing any of our shows.

Anyway hope everyone has a great evening and I am headed back to the couch and my lovely ice pack LOL.

Nighty night all! :)

:hug::hug::hug: Hugs to you Wendy. I totally feel your pain since I have some of the worst car luck in the world!! I just hate that feeling especially when you don't have anyone around to help you out :guilty:. I would totally take you to work if I lived closer!!

Thanks Katie, you're the best! I'm only a 7 hour drive away, are you sure you don't want to give me a ride? ;)

That stinks Wendy. I have the "when it rains it pours" kinda luck too. I hope you get it resolved without going broke or having to ride a scooter to work...

Believe me, I would use a scooter or a bike or walk to work if it weren't so darned far away (30 minutes by car and that's mostly on the interstate). Boo for our "when it rains, it pours luck," even though it looks like we're in some good company when it comes to this kind of stuff!

I'm not picky! I borrowed my grandmas car to get to work. She has a Buick LeSabre, I felt so weird driving her big boat of a car! I've considered a bus pass in the past, but unfortunately the schedule in no way caters to me.

As long as you take me, I see no problem. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the helpful information! My brakes have been "yelling" at me for a few weeks now. I just don't have the income to fix them. :sad2: My ex offered to put them in if I bought them, but between you and me I don't really trust him to do it right. :rolleyes1

Wendy~ I always have my dad do my brakes for me....much cheaper than paying a shop. We go over to Napa and buy the stuff we need. Do you have anyone that knows how to do that?

I'm working on my dad now. I feel bad asking him though, because his birthday is tomorrow and I feel horrible bugging him about it.

Sorry to hear about the runaway teens, I hope they come home soon.

Wendy I am so sorry about your car troubles. I know how you feel. I had those same problems a few months back. First my brakes went then I needed 4 new tires.

Thanks Kelly. I had to get new tires in January! They were my birthday gift. Too bad I only get one birthday a year! :rotfl:

Car troubles just stink!

You gals are the best. :flower3: I just was so frustrated earlier, but I'm starting see a light at the end of the tunnel. Worst case, I don't get groceries for awhile or I pay my bills late. It's not the end of the world, I just feel better venting...sorry, you all had to be a part of my pity party. :upsidedow

I hope you all have a great evening!! :grouphug:

Hey Divas!

Just noticed something......exactly 9 months from today until our trip!!
:cool1:  :woohoo: It's like waiting for a baby...... :teeth:

Now is NOT a good time to get pregnant ladies! Keep that in mind, k? I hope to go on the trip this time and I want to see ya all there!

Worst case, I don't get groceries for awhile or I pay my bills late.
No biggie. Just don't answer the phone when the bill collectors call. That's what I do. And as for groceries, just watch an episode of Extreme Couponing and low and behold you can get $1,200 worth of stuff for like 5 cents!! It's amazing. Of course, all you'll get is 600 bottles of mustard and 900 tubes of toothpaste, but hey, I'm sure you can whip something up with that. :thumbsup2

Above all, hang in there. We are here for ya, and love a good pity party any day. :grouphug:

Yeah PARTEEEEEEE ok pity party but what the heck as long as it is a party. I can celebrate anything.

Yes make sure you have caller Id and only answer calls from family. I do not pay bills -- I know how but it kills me to pay out money that was doing just fine in the bank. Dad's are so handy to have around. I think fixing your brakes would make him happy-- Dad's are like that.

Ha Ha Mommau4, you are so right one guy had 1000 boxes of toothpaste-- I mean -really. Honestly how often do you see coupons for fruits, vegetables, milk, or meat. I know that is what you buy with the money you save. Now cereals, cheese, crackers, soaps, deodorants, hair items, juices-- now those always seem to always have coupons-- oh ya soups to -- I got the biggest kick out of "feeding family toothpaste'.

Kelmac, I am sorry you have another migraine. :( hope it goes away fast.

Anyway for real Wendy-- I hope car gets fixed for as cheaply as possible.

night all
