Is anyone as disappointed with World of Color as I was. It had no story and was basically a clip show

Wasn't disappointed so much with the show as I was that a gentleman abut 6' 5" squeezed his way in front of me. I'm only 5' 8".

I'd say that WoC is more of a "musician's show" if you get what I mean

Therefore, I loved it. Best Disney nighttime show out there

I watched in on YouTube before our trip, and realized quickly that it wasn't anything I wanted to spend time on. I'm glad I did that because it would have felt like a total waste of time and effort to me.

World of Color is not trying to tell a story. It is a celebration of color. Fantasmic tells a story. Remember Dreams Come True does not, FWIW. World of Color does not. Some Disney parades try to tell a story. Most do not. The Electrical Parade for example does not tell a story. EP just celebrates different Disney characters and music. The lack of a story can be a real drawback if the show does not otherwise shine.

All seven of us were overwhelmed by WOC. We thought it was fantastic! :wizard:

And for many of us, it didn't otherwise shine bright enough to overcome the lack of a story line. Luckily they can change it simply enough.

Sometimes I see something I like and can understand how others might not like it. Other times it is hard for me to understand how others would not like it. World of Color is the latter.

I speculated here that the bulk of the negative reactions to WOC were caused by poor viewing area design and/or late show attendance.

I am not saying everyone must agree with me. That would be very narrow minded. We just had such an overwhelming experience when we had a good view at an early show. In my speculation link above I compared it to our experience with Fantasmic this summer seeing early and late shows.

I went in with low expectations based on some reviews from this board, but I was blown away. In fact, I stood there with a huge smile on my face throughout the entire show and was so enthralled that I actually ended up crying at a certain scene (no spoilers though).

I really enjoyed it.

I just figure that people like or dislike, or don't like something as much as other people for whatever reasons. Everyone has different things that strike a coard with them.

Thinking about it, I guess I would say that I just thought it had the potential to be so much more than it was.

Our family just returned form DL and we all loved the WOC show. I had negative expectations after having to show up 1.5 hours early for a spot and fight the crowds, but the show made up for it. Definitely we would do it again.

However, we saw Fantasmic the following night, from a seated table at Riverbell Terrace, and none of us care to ever see that again.

this is what I meant by my last post. I love Fantasmic, I think it is the single best thing at the park.

Well, if folks like you did not post I would mistakenly think everyone likes the show. Heck, some folks do not like Disneyland at all. Now we here all know those people are misinformed. ;)

I hope both of you voted in the poll. :)

Remember Dreams Come True, Fantasmic or World of Color? Which is your favorite?

I agree.

RDCT does not have a story, but it has a theme. I think calling the theme a "celebration of color" is a cop out. Had they carried the Wonderful World of Color song throughout the show, I might have bought that, but without something connecting the clips, it's just Disney's greatest hits (and some not-so-hits).
