We felt like this the very first time we rode it, but we were in the 2nd or 3rd row. The next time we sat in the front row and we were amazed. We request the front row every time now and it's definitely a must-do for us now!

When I went on the Tower of Terror in 2001 I felt that way, everyone tells me I bult it up too much. We will see we will be there in Dec and I will be open minded. I will let you know what I think of soren. Sorry you were let down!!!

I am the opposite here because the 1st time I rode it I thought it was amaizing, the attraction I was disapointed in with was Body Wars. I thought it would have been a lot like Star Tours which it was not, so that was disappointing.

Sorry you were disappointed. This is my favorite ride of all times. I love Soarin. I have seen something new every time I have gone on it.

Soarin' is the most overrated ride I've ever been on. I got a FP for it, so thank goodness I didn't have to wait in the rediculously and unnecessary long line, and even the FP was a waste of time. I don't see what the big hype and fuss is all about.

My idea to make the ride better is to first, well, MAKE IT LONGER, and don't favor California. Soar over the entire United States. Heck, even the world!

I'll second that...but I also know it came from DCA, and there it's called Soarin' Over California. I had thought it would be more what your idea says. We can only hope, maybe some day. They do change rides...another poster said they were disappointed in TOT, that ride has changed a bit since it was first created. Now its a random drop pattern, when it first opened it was one drop and the ride was over, kinda boring. That was my first experience...when I finally got DH on the ride (he hates this sort of thing) it was more than one drop, but a predictable pattern that the CM's said changed only once or twice a month, and DH was mad that I didn't tell him it was going to drop him more than once! I didn't know it would do that. lol Now with the random drops, he refuses to try it at all, he likes to know just whats going to happen...I like it better this way. :)

I disagree.

Soarin' immediately became my favorite ride at WDW the second I rode it. :cloud9:

I thought it was completely amazing the first time I rode it. :)

We must have rode it at least 7 times that trip. :rotfl2:

We rode front row everytime except for one...I must admit that the second row is distracting with the feet and the video looks worse. :guilty:

Maybe it was because you were in the third or second rows that you didn't like it. :guilty:

All I know is that it's my favorite ride at WDW...from the beautiful movie, to the great music, to the smells...it's amazing. :cloud9:

This was not an oversight or something done by chance or by ignorance or laziness or by favoritism to California.

The ONLY reason the film was created as "Soarin' Over California" (and not the USA) in the first place, is that it was part of "Disney's CALIFORNIA Adventure", the sister park to Disneyland (built on DL's former PARKING LOT, actually).
Originally, Disney was going to build a park there called "WESTCOT" (think "West Coast Epcot") but the locals in Anaheim would not allow it. (Too much traffic and disruption already.)

So... Disney had to come up with a NEW "theme" that would appeal to the locals... and DCA was born. And "Soarin' (Over California") turned out to the break-out HIT of the entire new park!

But, now that Soarin' is a huge success (on BOTH coasts) Disney will finally be able to create a film with more "wide appeal" rather than just localized to any single state.

So expect a change coming up. I'm just not sure of the timetable.

(And don't be too surprised if some of your favorite scenes and SMELLS are a part of the new show, too.)

I agree that this ride was a disappointment... I thought I was going to be flying or something... like zero gravity or we'd be in a parasail... oh well... it's still a GREAT ride, but next time, I' won't expect too much of it. :-)

Same here. What a lame ride, and the hype is out of control. We waited about 15 minutes. Once was enough. I'll ride Spaceship Earth over and over instead. I'm sure that's lame to some as well. To each their own.

We thought it was fun...but somewhat over-hyped.

We enjoyed it (reminded us of IMAX) and we would do it again. But I wouldn't wait a long time for it. It's not a 'must-see' for us.

That's good to know that first row is much better (as I figured). I've only ridden it once and loved it - but I was in the front row, so I don't know what it would have been like further back. I think we will FP it and then ask to wait for the front row, since I've already told my parents how great the ride is and I'd hate for them to be disappointed!

I think people are tiring of Soarin'. I got to ride it multiple times this past weekend. Waits were as little as 15 minutes (without a FP) to 60 minutes. Fastpass was virtually a walk on.

This was our families fav ride of our trip. We just happened to end up in the first row, can someone please explain what happens to the other rows? I thought maybe each row went a little bit higher or something, is that why people are talking about being distracted by feet? Sorry to hijack, just wondering why the front row was soo good and we just got it by chance.

When we rode it for the first time I couldn't understand what the big deal was.
It is ok at best, we call it boring.
We will still go on it once when we are at epcot, but only with a fastpass.

I love Soarin'! It was the last ride we did before our vacation was over and I thought it was one of the best.

My DD thought it was lame. The rest of of thought it was a nice ride but not great. I was expecting more because of all the hype.

The thing that disappointed me about Soarin' is the location. I don't understand why it has to be in the same bldg. as The Land, Seasons, etc. It was total chaos in there when we went. Also, I don't like the way you have to go inside the bldg then down the stairs just to find out what the wait time is or to get a FP. Couldn't they have put that stuff outside the bldg.?
