Dissapointed Soarin Riders?

We love Soaring but sitting in the front row is a must to get the most out of the ride. We were disappointed in Expedition Everest when we rode it. The que line was great but the ride was not nearly as great as it looked like it would be.

Has anyone ever been told no when asking to ride in the front row? DH wanted to ask on our last trip, but I felt funny. Is this a normal thing to ask?

Our family loves Soarin'! I think this was my oldest sons favorite ride. He almost didn't ride it because he won't ride roller-coasters. We had to convince him that it wasn't a coaster so he'd get on it. My youngest son was about 1/2 inch too short to ride it so I can't wait for our next trip when he can ride with us. I know he'll love it.

I would love to see it made longer and 'soar' over more parts of the US and/or world.

Soarin' over California is my favorite ride at DCA. We ALWAYS ask to sit in the middle section, first row. The first time we rode it was during the DCA preview for the people that built DCA. Our neighbor that works for DLR had ridden it and told us the best place to sit. Never had any CM at DCA say no to our request...we might have to wait until the next loading but no one has ever said no.

Also because it is from DCA, it is about California...sorry to you folks that are not happy about that. This only means that when we're at WDW, we have less people to contend with at Soarin'<G>

I love Soarin and have ridden it a lot but the last few times you could really see that the film is getting worn. They need to replace it. Other than that I still love it.

The first time we rode Soarin we were in the 3rd row. It was O.K.
The second time we rode we asked to be in the first. It was a whole different experience. It was fantastic. We always ask for the first row now.

I hate simulator rides but wanted to give Soarin' a try after it opened. Loved it! The first row is the best.

My DD went in May 2007 and said the same thing. She was expecting it to be "more" than it was. She said it was just okay. I haven't been on it yet, (8 more days!) so I'll have to see. :)

I was going to ask this as well. Someone said they did ask and were allowed to wait for or request the front row, but we asked and were told no. This was in late August '06, not really a busy time at the parks. I'd like to know when people were successful in asking for the front row. I hope the policy has changed since our last visit!

I agree that this ride is very much overrated and a disapointment but I will also say thats my opinion... and I know I'm a select few that feel that way.

I still do enjoy the attraction... just felt that Disney could have done a better job. Hands down though, it has one of the best preshow videos throught the park :rotfl:

I asked to ride in the front row twice, but there was no room (I was a single rider too). Hoping that I'll get that front and center seat on my next trip though.

I just love it and I can't explain why. I usually don't care for simulator rides, but this ride just makes me happy, my entire family really enjoys it. Maybe it's just a nice change from the other rides, shows, etc at the parks?????

Our Whole Family love this ride and it is a must do a few times each trip:banana:

We rode Soarin for the first time in June. We lucked out and got the first row. We really loved the ride and maybe it was better being in the front row but we have nothing to compare it to.

We went on it once and thought it was okay but it definately not a do-over. We didn't think it was good enough for the long line up waits.:confused3

I have a different kind of disappointing experience. Last year 2/06 I took my MIL to WDW with us. She is from Nigeria and has never been to an amusement park before. We got on Soarin and as we started going up into the air. All you could hear is screams of terror.:scared1: When we got off she was screaming, crying, and yelling at me "Why did you put us on that thing. We were all the way up in the sky. We could have fallen out and drownded in the water." She really thought we were up in the sky really flying over all of those things. I had to take her back to the hotel after that and calm her down. That was the end of her WDW experiences. She said "Get me out of here" and was ready to go back home. :sad2:

Cute story, even though I don't believe it for a second.

:lmao:

How did she GET HERE from Nigeria?
Anyone who can make that kind of trip is not going to be fooled by a 2D movie.

Next time you tell it, make the protagonist a young child.
;)

No unfortuanly it is the truth. The day before my 3 year old son wanted her to ride BTMR with him and she thought is was like a train ride. Well, 2 minutes later when they came off she was crying and yelling at me. We are from Nigeria. The first time I took her to the mall hear she was scared to get on the escalator. We don't have amusement parks in Nigeria.
