Dissapointed Soarin Riders?

Soarin' is wonderful! We were lucky enough to get in the front row, so I don't know how being farther back impacts the experience, but we loved it! I wanted to get right back in line, but there was too much else to try to see. Next time I want to ride it twice!!! :thumbsup2 Everybody has their preferences--I was a little disappointed in Illuminations after all the hype (ducking to avoid the cyber punches coming this way!)

i never got a chance to see illuminations...

but about the soarin thing... sitting in the other rowns affected it for me because you can see everyone elses feet above you, and if you were REALLY 'soarin' you wouldnt have lots of feet dangling above you :rotfl:

Don't get me wrong, i liked it a lot. but i'd always use a fast pass for it. ESPECIALLY since epcot has so much to see and do, besides standing in line forever!

Sorry you were disappointed. This is my favorite ride of all times. I love Soarin. I have seen something new every time I have gone on it.

I know right?

Last summer, I went on Soarin' with my cousins. I was pointing out some HMs I knew, and the guy sitting next to me pointed out this one HM...

We love Soarin. It's one of my all time favorite rides and I haven't had a chance to sit in the front row yet. I guess that's just been the luck of the draw. We usually get on this ride at least 4 times everytime we're there. I'm going to have to ask to sit in the first row.

I like it!!
But it could last a bit longer---I might be disappointed if I had to wait in line for an hour+.

When I first heard about this ride coming to WDW, and not knowing of Disneylands ride, the advertising gave me an impression that was completely different from what I had invisioned. Once riding, I did enjoy the ride and had a great experience, and have done the ride numerous times since. The ride is second to the top of my list.

We rode it three times on our recent trip. I love it but two of the three times I didn't get the smells. The one time that I did it really added to the experience. That said I wouldn't wait more than 30 minutes. We used fast pass 2 of the 3 times. I also would like to see a new film. California is getting old.

I know they won't take any suggestions from this board, it was my own personal idea. :) I'm sorry if you took it the wrong way.
Nah, I didn't take it as if you'd want the credit if/when Disney changes the movie. I was just passing on what I was told by someone in Guests with Disabilities Services (or something like that, I have the exact name of the department at home, and we were discussing access changes to certain attractions). Besides, when I wrote that, I didn't recognize who I was responding to - I know YOU know what Disney does/doesn't/will/won't do :teeth:

Oh, and I have to agree with madfordonald (ouch! stop twisting my arm! ;)) It's exactly the same movie in both parks. Fine, that means I agree with dizprincess717 too ;)

Just quoting your words, you're both nuts!
I've ridden DCA Soarin' this past April and last April and there's is no sequence of a baseball park. There is a scene of a jet passing over you and of an aircraft carrier, but I don't recall soldiers at attention. And of course there's the golfball shooting at you, perhaps this is where the mistaken baseball came from? :confused3

Well, I guess it's just one more bit of evidence (not that we needed any). Thanks for settling this for me. It's so odd, though, that we are both so convinced of this. We even have MIL believing she saw Candlestick Park too. The memory is a strange, strange thing! We rode the California version in June of 2003. You know, I just had a thought...isn't there a movie at California Adventure that describes the state of California?? Maybe that's it! Maybe I've confused the two things in my mind: Soarin' and the California movie. Anybody? That would make me just SLIGHTLY less crazy, right?!

I too, have to agree with most of you. The DH and I both thought Soarin' was overrated. It was okay, but not my favorite ride. It was, as others have said, a nice ride to cool off on. We only rode it once, but the next time we go, I will definitely try the first row to see how much of a difference it makes.

Sometimes when you hear so many great opinions about something, you can't help but be disappointed because your opinion is pre-arranged. My only problem with Soarin' is that it is so slow loading, and it is really too short! They need to add some more footage to it, and make it more worth the wait! Also, they should put the fastpass machine outside The Land building. BUT I THINK THE RIDE IS AWESOME!

Wow, I just can't believe so many people could hate this wonderful ride. :sad2:

Maybe you got the third and second rows and seen the 'feet'? That ruins it a bit but...

It was my favorite...if you were dissapointed or it didn't meet your expectations, what were you expecting? :confused3

I was expecting it to at least be as cool as the similar motion simulators (albeit without lifting off the ground) at the local IMAX theatre. It wasn't.

It was fine, and I'll ride it again if I'm so inclined, but the line area is laughably long -- I walked right on, basically (September). NO ride is worth standing in as much room as they've left in that line. If Walt came back from the dead it wouldn't be worth waiting in a line that long.

And yes, I had the front row.

It was fine, it just wasn't any kind of "thrill."

I am the opposite here because the 1st time I rode it I thought it was amaizing, the attraction I was disapointed in with was Body Wars. I thought it would have been a lot like Star Tours which it was not, so that was disappointing.

What do you mean? BW's is the exact same attraction as ST's only bumpier and with a different movie.

I was amazed! I loved it!!! We rode it about 5 times for our entire trip, and I must say the first row is obviously the best, especially since you don't see anyone's feet dangling. I loved it!!!!! :thumbsup2

Hubby and I rode it in May and we both loved it. We went back before having to leave and rode it again. We thought it was awesome.

I loved it the first time, and I still do. My only complaint (if you could call it that) was that I wish it were a few minutes longer!

omg i totally agree of course i wish it was longer lol:cool1:

For me,Soarin was just OK. I'm not planing going there in this trip. :coffee:
