ok, I don't have the least bit of a green thumb but fell in love with the Topiaries in the catalog. Talked myself out of them because of the price but now they are on sale and a double code so for less than half price I couldn't resist.

I am told there are no directions with them. Anyone know anything about trying to grow these? (I am in NJ if that makes a difference)

TIA

I ordered the fake plastic one, so I'm afraid I'm not of much help! Being in Michigan I figured that by the time I got the wire-framed kind "filled-up", the season would be over and I didn't want to have to look at the unfilled wire frame all summer. I hope you get the answers you're looking for.

They are fabulous! My mom ordered two, one Goofy and one Mickey. They are constructed well and are big! She's going to grow creeping fig on them. It is pretty easy to grow, as long as it doesn't get frost.

In NJ you won't be able to use fig (ficus) because it only grows in zone 8 or warmer. What you need to do is stuff it with wet spaghnum moss and insert plant plugs into the moss. You should use something that will creep and be evergreen. I am using a creeping dense eunomus with small leaves on my Mickey. I though about using that pretty evergreen creeping myrtle but I had lots of euonymus handy so that is what I am using. You have to spray with fertilizer becuase even though the plants and roots will grow in the moss without soil- the moss itself does not have any nutrients.

Ok, I am clueless about plants. What do you suggest to use in Colorado?

Thanks!
