Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

First time staying at Yacht Club. Had not thought much about it being pet friendly until I read a review about being next to a room with barking dogs.
Are there certain areas that allow dogs or are they randomly throughout the resort. Is there a chance of being in a room that previously had pets? The review I read, the guest were staying club level.
Before we were DVC, we stayed at Yacht Club with a family member that is super afraid of dogs. So we requested a room away from the Pet Friendly ones, never saw a dog the entire trip.

We've had dogs in rooms next to or near us a few times, and they've never been in one particular area so it seems pretty random. Funny enough, I always see people claim they're only on the first floor, but we've always had them near us on upper floors. Most of the dogs have been relatively quiet, but we have been next to some that cried or barked during the day while the owners were out.

Originally, the info was dogs would be in garden view rooms in the wing near the quiet pool, since that is near the pet relief areas. But since then, reports are that dogs can & are in rooms anywhere in the hotel. Yes, there definitely is a chance that you could be in a room that has had a dog. If you have allergy issues, you can call & request a deep cleaning before you check in. And FYI, since service animals can be in any room in any resort, there’s always a chance you could be in a room that has had animals in it.

THIS!

I have a cabana question: cabana capacity!
I read that the capacity of the cabana is 6. Does that mean seating for six? Or six people period. We have three adults and four kids. I doubt we will all be in the cabana at any one time.
I read old posts where people say it doesn’t matter and other ones where they say it’s six wristbands.
Does anyone have any recent experience about cabana capacity?
After all my Cabana back and forth we couldn’t get one for our pool day -September 18th

Posting just on the off chance someone here has one on that day (crazy I know) and plans to cancel. It’s my 40th birthday that day! I will share cake with you! ;) Let me know!!

Well the 60 mark is not until tomorrow when does your resort stay begin? I would still check again tomorrow morning since all CMs are not created with the same skill levels.

Dave
Our resort stay starts the 16th so our 60 days was yesterday. But that is a very hot tip! I’ll try tomorrow too. Thank you!!

Good luck tomorrow, and let us know what happens. Worst case also check with the Cabana CMs when you arrive at the resort daily to see if they get any cancellations for the 18th. They are often a good source of the latest real-time info.

At BCV now. Hot tubs still not heated at SAB. Lots of tubes in the lazy river, both the clear rings and the clear u-shaped tubes with the seat. Covered area by driveway completely walled in, but you can easily walk around it to the buses on the one side or towards the temporary bell/valet stand and the villas building on the other. Construction noise not really noticeable so far.

@rhardy1206 that's pretty pedestrian. Any signs of large holes or scaffolding for us to complain about, and did you hear any noise?

Dave
Not too many eye sores that I can't speak off! as for the noise I heard nothing but Im also dvc so I was over in the other building most of the trip! not the prettiest to look at, but my fun and trip was not effected in a negative matter

I am totally here for that kind of totally unnecessary whimsical focus on Disney place making and storytelling. Love it. Also some pretty old school photos in those pics, wish they were clearer but 1990 was a bit ago!

The diver lock out returning to The Seas, finally addressing the mess that is Star Wars Launch Bay, actual nods to Spectromagic and Main Street Electrical Parade in the new parade - bizarro world here.

Did the staff happen to say what the hold up is on the hot tubs? just curious. I particularly love the adult one, I hope its open when we go.

Didn't ask, sorry. But there were actual signs explaining that the tubs were "unheated therapy tubs" and offering heated tubs at the quiet pools, so it's obviously expected to last long enough it's worth making formal signage.

I don't get it. I mean, I get that the signs are letting you know that the tubs are unheated. But what's with the "therapy" part?

My guess is a play on the "cold plunge" trend that's popular these days. Or in this case, water that just isn't hot like a normal hot tub.
