Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

It has been a really long time since they rented mini fridges. :)

All of the rooms have fridges called beverage coolers. They keep the contents cold, but they don't have freezer compartments.
Yes, I really can not understand why they would take the time and expense to remove the mini-fridge we all loved with a freezer just to put in an appliance that doesn't give us all we need? For example, where do I put ice cream for the kids?

The beverage coolers have a little sticker on them that say they don’t go below 41 degrees but I always travel with fridge thermometers and at the deluxe resorts, they in fact do. This is my most recent example from Yacht club the week of the 4th of July. We kept milk and yogurts in there and it stayed in the high 30’s the entire time. Not cold enough to freeze ice cream but safe for dairy at least. The 81 degrees on the digital thermometer was from when I turned it on in the room, not from the fridge.

Beach still has walls up all around the front entrance. When I was at Epcot last week I was too tired to walk to the front to catch the monorail back to Poly so I walked over to BC to grab a Lyft. CMs directed me to the parking spots across from the porte cochere, that's where rideshares were being sent. They had to pull into a space for me to get in.
Was the Lyft pick up and drop off right at the porte cochere? Or was it out in the parking lot? I’m trying to find out when we arrive at the resort using Lyft whether we would have to carry our luggage from the parking lot.

It was right in front of the porte cochere, directly across. There’s a small handful of spaces there that they seem to mostly be using for pick ups and drop offs. It’s not the actual parking lot, so you won’t have to carry your stuff from there.

Hello is it possible to take the bus to magic kingdom or animal at the same place we used to?

Can anyone visiting confirm sundaes are no longer available at the B&C to go window?

I am pretty sure the sundaes were never listed on the to go menu and only the "Mickey Kitchen Sink" was.

If CMs are saying they can't make them that's unfortunate.

My daughter got chocolate sauce and whip cream on her ice cream. Not sure if that’s considered a sundae or not. This was on 6/30.

It wouldn’t surprise me though. The resort especially the food areas seemed very understaffed.

If you're there anyway and you want something, you should always try asking. People get different answers at different times.

Pre-Pandemic, the To Go menu only listed certain things. But when I asked in person, they said I could get any of the desserts To Go except for one item. The one item was some kind of bread thing, it wasn't a regular sundae.

What's the construction noise like?
I don't know what it's like in the rooms but when walking in from the parking lot by the Villas (DVC) on Friday morning ~10am I wondered why they were testing fireworks in the daytime. Then when I got closer, I remembered the construction. No idea what exactly they were doing but it was definitely noticeable.

I do know that even when sundaes available at the to-go window, they weren't listed there. I remember getting a No Way Jose Sundae at the to-go window 6 months ago even though it wasn't listed. When I asked about it, they acted like it was a regular thing. However, I don't think I got the 10% DVC discount , since I bought it as QS, not TS (I could be wrong though). I enjoyed being able to take my Sundae back to my room to eat it, and would be disappointed if I can't any more.

Hopefully you’ll still be able to get any sundae you want through the Togo window. We love to do it once a trip while staying at YC. Don’t really want a reservation for it though.

Thanks for sharing. This looks like it would fall under the normal to-go options, but I appreciate the data point.

My thoughts on B&C possibly removing No Way Jose, Fudge Mudslide, Snickers, etc from the to-go window is from the additional surge of pool guests returning so I imagine it must be crowded!

Good point. Things change all the time at WDW and it really depends on which CM you speak with. I wasn't sure if it was a clickbait article or if there was any truth to it.

YES! Nothing like eating it from the comfort of your room. I've had people ask me before where I got it or what was it called since it wasn't listed, but it was something I did multiple times while staying at Yacht and Beach Club. It's also a much better value than buying a two scoop sundae and adding each topping.

Agreed! I hope it sticks around.

First time staying at Yacht Club. Had not thought much about it being pet friendly until I read a review about being next to a room with barking dogs.
Are there certain areas that allow dogs or are they randomly throughout the resort. Is there a chance of being in a room that previously had pets? The review I read, the guest were staying club level.

Did they speak with the CL CM's about the situation?
