Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

I am still trying to figure out the Guest room update story since they removed the notice on the YC Overview page on the web over the weekend.
I think someone had mentioned that the CL was to close January 11th. When I returned to the resort Saturday evening between 6:30 pm and 7:00 pm, the entire top floor near the back (lakeside) entrance was dark.

Can someone tell me where the laundry rooms are at the BC? Is there one inside and one outside by the pool like the YC?
thank you

There used to be one here on the first floor also.... haven't used it for years though so that may have changed

Anyone have any updates on the room conditions? We stayed at the beach club in 2016 and fell in love with the place. We're booked again in a club level room next week and I'm seeing some pretty upsetting reviews from earlier this month, about dirty rooms, loose outlets and hooks, banged up furniture. Spiraling a bit thinking we should change our reservation...

I have not heard of any problems with BC/YC CL recently. Stormalong Bay is closed until June, YC lounge and CL floor is undergoing a rehab. Food at BC/YC is fine except sometimes it’s not hot enough. CM’s have been great. There is going to be some noise during the day because of the pool being refurbished but I would not panic changing resorts. It’s still a great area.

Has anyone stayed at POFQ before? Is it a huge disappointment after YC/BC? Yacht and Beach is definitely our home - we stay here every trip (did a split with GF last trip because it was my oldest's dream and while we enjoyed it, we couldn't wait to get over to Beach). My daughter has her dance nationals in Orlando this summer (June 27-July 2). When I found that out, I immediately convinced my husband to add on Disney time at the end (July 3-6). We decided to stay on property the entire time for a little extra magic. We did look at and consider Yacht or Beach, but given that we will not be at the resort a ton during the nationals portion (but still hoping for some poool time) we decided to go for a moderate. We chose FQ due to the room renos and the small layout. I'm excited to try a new resort, and as a bonus trip, I'm just happy for Disney time, but want to manage my family's expectations!

The BC CL rooms were just redone in August 2023. Will someone always find an issue with rooms that are used almost every day of the year, Yes. Will a light fixture maybe some dust or might there be some dust in a remote corner, Yes. Will some of the furniture be dinged or scratched, Yes.

Since you did not mention it, you do know that Storm Along Bay is closed through June and there will be noise during day.

Should any of these items cause you to spiral, I can't speak for you but these are not deal breakers for our group. I am also not sure what resort you would change to that would be able to provide you a perfect room. Maybe a BWI CL room since they were redone spring (2023) What other resorts are you thinking about?

ETA: correct 2024 reference to BWI. Thanks @focusondisney for catching this. I hate switching to a new year..

POFQ is definately NOT a Deluxe resort, but for a very long time, we were only able to stay at Moderates, and it quickly became the favorite. They are not within walking distance to the parks but only a boat ride away from Disney Springs.

They have a great food court, and are small enough that everything is a short walk away. Bonus is only one bus stop! The pool is small, but there are things to keep kids happy - we only ever used it in the evening after a day at the parks to put soak our tired feet, while enjoying an adult beverage. Rooms are smaller than Deluxe, but were nice.

Thanks! This video went beyond some dust, and showed pretty gross conditions on the light switches, mirrors and dressers, outlets popping out of the wall, hooks falling off the hinges. I was shocked, and even more shocked by the follow-up comments of people agreeing about the room conditions. I know all about Stormalong Bay and don't mind the noise, I just want to make sure the rooms are still clean and not falling apart. I'd hate to ruin the great memories I have of what's always been my favorite resort!

In my experience any time I have had any problem with my room, location, etc…the CM lounge manager has made sure that the problem has been addressed. Maybe I have been lucky with some issues in my past history and my history goes over many years.. I have had shower, TV, AC humming noises to noise issues, room located, and food issues. They were the the ones to take care of it. You would go to the lounge front desk to request help with an issue not by phone. Dave006 taught me that one.

Could you post a link to this video are a text description? I would like to take a closer look.

Not sure if we're allowed to link to tiktok but this is the video! It definitely makes me feel better that we'll have the concierge to help with any issues.

(If the link doesn't work, it's the first non-pinned video under Travelwithnowie on tiktok)

I got it. Not quite as dire as the TikTok implies. It does look like that bathroom has been abused but all these issues could be fix by one Maintenance visit. Someone just needs to report it.

The wall hooks for towels are loose. The wall outlet shown takes the most abuse as shown. The hair dryer is plugged in there and guests tend to yank it out of the outlet. The mirror rust does not look surface rust but the mirror backing damaged by moisture in the bathroom. It is common in Florida if not properly installed.

I also notice that they did not show any other parts of the room with issues. Seems odd to me.

The Ick on the wall outlet's shown are unknown but since TikTok is all about clicks I would hold judgement. As for the Cabinets it looks like dust in the corners of the deep panels.

These appear to be real items that need to be addressed, they would not make or break my stay. And as @Ricguz posted a stop by the CL lounge and a quick chat with the CM greeter will get you a different room if available or a Maintenance and Housekeeping visit.

I have had these minor issues at 5 Star Resorts around the world in the last 5 years. It never happened before but now it appears to be a fact of life today.

ETA: Still learning to spell TikTok...
