Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

I think someone had mentioned that the CL was to close January 11th. When I returned to the resort Saturday evening between 6:30 pm and 7:00 pm, the entire top floor near the back (lakeside) entrance was dark.
They did close the YC Club Lounge. I just returned from club level at BWI where several CMs from YC are temporarily reassigned because of the closure.

I got it. Not quite as dire as the TickToc implies. It does look like that bathroom has been abused but all these issues could be fix by one Maintenance visit. Someone just needs to report it.

This. So many people are all about how many clicks they can get they'd rather film and post and complain to their followers than report it so something could be done about it. (I'm skeptical enough to wonder if there are some who find one thing - like the outlet, which like you said, people tend to yank plugs out of it - and then loosen other things. It's all about the clicks for some people.) At least this one didn't look like they were crawling around on the floor looking for things. (Yes, I've seen that regarding the cruiseline - even on here a few years ago when she was singing the praises of Carnival she went on the Magic (or Wonder...one of the Classics) and I swear some of the "issues" she found were far under benches, etc. and there's no way you could see it unless you were purposely crawling around looking for things.)

Also it's pretty popular to hate on Disney among some online so they'll pile on claiming "I had that too" in comments even if they didn't.

I'm not saying things are always perfect, but I've always found Disney responsive to any issues I report. But they're not psychic. Someone needs to bother to take a few minutes to report it.

Does anyone have any updates on the daily activities offered at BC? I saw the one from earlier this week, but wondering if these activities are the same/similar every day? We are planning a no park day for Tuesday Feb 4 and wondering what will be offered at the resort!

Can someone tell me where the laundry rooms are at the BC? Is there one inside and one outside by the pool like the YC?
thank you

Jlundeen is correct - there is another laundry room inside the building. There are only two washers and two dryers in that location, I believe. The laundry at the pool area has four each, if I recall. I was just there Tuesday night, but I have post-vacation brain.
Anyone have any updates on the room conditions? We stayed at the beach club in 2016 and fell in love with the place. We're booked again in a club level room next week and I'm seeing some pretty upsetting reviews from earlier this month, about dirty rooms, loose outlets and hooks, banged up furniture. Spiraling a bit thinking we should change our reservation...

We stayed CL and had no issues with the cleanliness of the room or the lounge. The elevator could have been tidier, and it’s been pretty well abused by luggage carts and what not. I thought the room was fine, however. I admit, I don’t notice things that others might (my husband will point out things I didn’t even see). The CL staff were fantastic, despite the poor behavior of some guests. Nothing egregious, but a lot of main character syndrome going on. I thought the offerings were very good, as well, with more variety than we experienced a few years ago.

Has anyone stayed at POFQ before? Is it a huge disappointment after YC/BC? Yacht and Beach is definitely our home - we stay here every trip (did a split with GF last trip because it was my oldest's dream and while we enjoyed it, we couldn't wait to get over to Beach). My daughter has her dance nationals in Orlando this summer (June 27-July 2). When I found that out, I immediately convinced my husband to add on Disney time at the end (July 3-6). We decided to stay on property the entire time for a little extra magic. We did look at and consider Yacht or Beach, but given that we will not be at the resort a ton during the nationals portion (but still hoping for some poool time) we decided to go for a moderate. We chose FQ due to the room renos and the small layout. I'm excited to try a new resort, and as a bonus trip, I'm just happy for Disney time, but want to manage my family's expectations!
I have not yet stayed at YC / BC (first stay coming up in April) but have stayed at POFQ six times. I love the resort for its ambiance. It is very quiet and peaceful. The landscaping is very nice. The resort is smaller than any others and only has one bus stop. The food court has a great selection and if you want a table service meal, Riverside is just a ten minute walk away. I can't say enough good about FQ. The renovated rooms are done nicely. You will more than likely have a shower stall. In the evening you have Scat Cat's (jazz music) at FQ and on some nights, Yehaa Bob at Riverside. Beignets are the food highlight that everyone raves about. (I'm not a fan.) You can take the boat to Disney Springs. The only reason I'm not staying at FQ in April is this is a mother (69) / daughters (46 and 42) trip and older daughter wanted an Epcot resort.

I just had to push back a trip to May, staying at the Beach Club. I saw that the pool will be closed for maintenance then. I’ve never stayed here, but from what I hear this is the best pool on property.

In your opinion, how much of a dealbreaker is that? Enough to switch to a different resort? Unfortunately, May is the only other time we can reschedule. Pushing the trip back further doesn’t seem like an option.

It probably depends on how important a pool is to you for your trip. It's an amazing pool, but will definitely be closed - scheduled to be closed through June. On the other hand, there is a 'quiet' pool available to you at BC, another at BC Villas, and even one at YC. But I would expect those pools to be much busier than normal with Stormalong Bay closed.

We love BC. If you're spending time at EP and/or HS, you just can't beat the location - you can walk to EP very easily, and walk/boat/Skyliner to HS. You're close to some great dining options in Epcot World Showcase. Also some nice options at BC/YC, Swan, Dolphin, Swan Reserve, and Boardwalk. Only you can decide if you feel the need to make a change...

We are staying at YC CL in March 2025. Stormalong Bay pool is the best on Disney property however it’s not a deal breaker for us. The BC/YC is so convenient to Epcot and HS plus the boardwalk and skyliner. There are three other smaller pools, two at BC and one at YC you can use. So it’s your personal preference if the pool makes a huge difference to u. I’m a regular at YC so this trip Stormalong Bay is not a deal breaker but I am excited for the rehab especially with the slide not bumping into my back!! It’s still a great resort.

It's a deal-breaker for us. Staying at Boardwalk in late April, because seeing SAB closed and dealing with possible construction noise would make DH sad.

We personally love the location and feel of the YC. The pool is nice but not a must. We’ve stayed twice. First trip we swam just about every day. This last trip we never stepped foot in the pool. We sat around the quiet pool while doing laundry, but didn’t get in there either. Speaking of the quiet pool we sort of enjoy that one more. It’s not crowded and just feels more relaxing (although not nearly as nice and we do love the sand bottom).

Hi BCV experts, hoping you can help me out: my sister has a job interview scheduled for 3:30 on our check-in day (we stay in BCV and usually get a room assigned before 4pm but sometimes a bit after 😬)— I was wondering if anybody can recommend a (very quite and ideally empty) room or even end of hallway with chair/window ledge) for her to take the video call from of the room isn’t assigned. I know there are several relatively quiet areas in the BC villas building, but they are also fairly high traffic areas with the elevator dinging. Does anybody know of a better alternative?

Also, I would LOVE to know if there’s anyway to see a flier for the temporary activities at BC— we enjoy silent disco but won’t be there on a Monday night.

Off the top of my head, the public areas at YC/BC/BCV are:

A) On the main floor of BCV, there is a room between the lobby and the pool. That gets a lot of traffic. Probably not good for a video call. I don't think there is a door between the room and the lobby.

B) On the main floor of BCV, on the opposite side of the lobby, there is a room which has a pool table in it. It often is completely empty, but not always. I think it does have a door between the room and the lobby.

C) Across the hall from the BC Marketplace in the BC, there is sort of a window-lined hallway which has tables and chairs. At the end of that hallway is the Solarium. Sometimes the Solarium is quiet, sometimes it's not. There is a TV in there. Sometimes people hang out there if they have checked out but their transportation has not arrived yet. Sometimes there are activities in there.

D) BC Lobby: lots of traffic. Not a good choice for a video call.

E) YC Lobby: usually quieter than BC lobby. I have been there when a lot of people from a convention were hanging out chatting.

F) I'm not sure about this, but I think that if you are in the YC Lobby, and you look up, there is a little area on the second floor with a desk.

G) YC/BC has a convention center. It is in its own building. I have gone over there to ship things out from the business center. When I have been there, the building was quiet because there weren't any conventions happening. I can't remember if there are seating areas in the hallways, but I assume there are. However, if there is a convention happening, there may be people walking around talking.

Caution: if there is any construction going on, then nearby indoor areas may hear the noise. I'm not sure if you will be there during the Stormalong Bay pool area construction.

Sometimes BCV rooms are ready early, but you are smart to assume that your room will not be.

Sadly, I think the quiet areas (Solarium and Drawing room) are being used for activities for kids as Stormalong Bay is closed for refurbishment. There is a small room inside the drawing room to the right. You have to walk all of the way in and turn right. It's all glass. This may be quiet enough or as the other poster mentioned going to the business center at the YC.

Thank you so much for all of the very detailed information. I will pass it on to her! The construction noise is a good thing to keep in mind— is the convention center near the pool area?

Excellent point, it’s probably perfect *if* the drawing room isn’t being used for something else noisy at the time.
