Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

Page 1752-1754

Add us to the list. We will be staying at the Beach club for the first time, June 3-12. We are very excited. I know things may change when Beach club finally opens, but does the Beach Club share buses in the morning with Yacht club?

Will do!

:cool1:

We are at the Yacht Club now but leaving in about 1/2 hour. We went out to the Yacht Club beach to watch the Space-X launch. The skies were clear at the scheduled launch time of 8:28pm and we probably would have had a great view of it. Unfortunately, the launch was postponed for 45 minutes and by then there were low hanging clouds that blocked any view of the launch. :(

My husband was able to look into the big white box near the back of Hurricane Hannas and said that there was a concrete patch that the box was protecting. We assume that the construction that was done earlier included breaking up the concrete and now they repaired it.

We have really enjoyed this trip. Mask compliance was excellent, even better than it was when we were here in October. The parks were very crowded this week and we only stayed at most of them for a few hours. But we are annual passholders and a low key trip is our favorite way to do Disney. :)

It helped a lot to know what to expect. I was bothered by the fact that you couldn't see people's smiles when they wore masks. But we have become so used to mask wearing, especially since our state has mandated masks for months, that it seems natural to see everyone in a mask. And the CMs seem extra friendly to make up for the extra restrictions on guests. We will be back in March. :)

We will be staying at the Yacht Club from Feb 28th to March 5th, 2021. :)

Thanks for the details about your trip.

I will add you back to the list. :woohoo:

Bummer about missing the SpaceX launch. One of the highlights of our first trip to the BC was seeing the Space Shuttle launch (from Canada, over the pyramid of Mexico). Teena gave us the hot tip when it would be launching.

🚀

Hi we r coming in on 2/6 for 6 nights sounds like the quick service options are low! Beaches & Cream have no availability! Any recommendations u could offer would be appreciated! Ty!

:welcome: back!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15.

Are you staying at the Beach Club Villas or Yacht Club?

THIS JUST IN!!!

Here are the menu boards for breakfast and lunch/dinner at the Beach Club Marketplace.

Btw, you are good Dee! I casually mentioned we were planning an April and October trip in a response I made to Wood Nymph and low and behold it showed up on the BOG list! Dates are firm for April, we will be there 4/9-4/18 in a BCV 1bedroom.

Ha Ha! I aim to please!

Can we be added to the Be Our Guest List? DH & I will be there 6/30-7/11. Yacht Club water view room for our 26th wedding anniversary. Thank you!!

Done!!!

:cool2:

Hi everybody I have a question for you YC experts: We booked a YC water view 2 queen room for a summer trip with our 2 kids who will both be over 18. They DO NOT want to share a bed. We have stayed at YC/BC a few times before and always had a day bed. Some of the recent discussion here makes it sound like maybe not all rooms at YC have a day bed? What's the likelihood we wouldn't have a day bed? If it's high, I will probably have to rebook somewhere else.

TIA

:welcome: to this forum.

When is your trip?

As you suspect, not all of the rooms at the YC have daybeds. I'm not sure of the percentage.

If you stick with the reservation, make the request for a daybed your priority request:

"Travelling with adult children, room with daybed, please"

If you do not get a room with a daybed when checking in, go to the front desk and politely ask if there is a room available with a daybed that you can move to. Or request a rollaway cot. I have not used one in the room, but my understanding is that they are fairly comfortable.

Good luck!

What would you do for a family of 5 in Beach Club Villas (kids are 10/7/5)?
Studio with all 5 of us .
One-bedroom, booking one kid with the grandparents in their Beach Club room even though he'll sleep in our room anyway.

We were at Boardwalk once in a one-bedroom, and we loved having the two rooms, but that was when the littlest still didn't count. The studios seems cramped to me, from looking at the floor plan.

Yes, sorry. Studio vs 1 bedroom. 1 bedroom technically only holds 4 people, so I'd need to book one kid in with the grandparents.

Thanks, this is helpful.

My 2 oldest refuse to share a bed, and nobody wants to sleep with the littlest, so 1-2 always sleep on the floor in a hotel. We bring sleeping bags. When we had a 1-bedroom at boardwalk (littlest was 2 so didn't count), two were on the floor. We like villas because we like the kitchen- we tend to feel better if we eat more familiar food and less restaurant fare, but maybe a regular room (with a kid booked in with grandparents) would be about the same as a studio. There are probably better resort rooms for us, but I've been waiting for them all to be ok swimmers to try out Beach Club!

If your kids are used to sleeping on the floor from past trips, then I think the 1 BR with more space would be the better option for your family and if the booking plan works for you.

I have not stayed at the BCV but on a past trip to SSR with 4 non-related adult women in a 1 BR, I used the cushions from the pullout sofa and made myself a little bed in the corner near the door- it was quite comfortable.

Note: I am "fun-sized", just 5 feet tall, so the length of 2 cushions was perfect for me, and could be just the thing for one of your kids.

The door you see behind to me is the connecting door to the room next door, I believe. Part of the door into the outside hallway can be seen on the right side of this picture.

Let us know if you book a room here.

Hi! We are booked for the first time at the YC in February. Am I correct that we’ll be guaranteed a room with a daybed if there are 5 of us? Admittedly I haven’t read through this entire thread, but some of the recent posts about daybeds made me nervous.
As far as I’m aware if there are 5 of you listed on the reservation then you will be provided with a room with enough sleeping surfaces for all

I have some pictures of the menu boards from the Market at Ale & Compass, but they are not dated, so I am not sure how current they are.

Could someone who has been there recently (December/January) or will be there soon post pictures of the Breakfast and Lunch/Dinner menus there.

:thanks:

Thank you! That’s how it’s been at all the other resorts we’ve stayed at that can sleep 5, but I didn’t realize not all YC rooms have daybeds until I started checking this thread for info.

thank you! Our trip is feb 11-16. I’ll look into making that request now! Our kids are older so hopefully they’ll realize we need the daybed!

The menus that you have in the above post on this page are the current menus. We had several meals from BC Marketplace during our recent trip. :)

What are the ages of the members of your group?

As a family of 5, you will be given priority for a room with a daybed because you must be given sleeping surfaces for everyone on the reservation (over the age of 3). That is, you should be given a room with a daybed before a family of 4 who has requested one.

I think it is still a good idea to add the need for a daybed to your room request.

We stayed at the Yacht Club January 3 - 8, 2021.

Yacht Club room 3126
garden/woods view
2 queen beds
daybed
connecting door
shower
sliding balcony doors, full balcony

I posted a copy of this post to the YC room view thread. :)

We booked a garden/woods view room and received a room that was on the north side of the resort facing the YC bus stop, which we could see in the distance. We could hear the beep noises that the buses made, but otherwise was a quiet area.

You can just barely see the bus stop in the center of this picture.

Here is the view to the right with the bus stop circled in yellow. The driveway on the parking lot side of the resort is just to the other side of the building.

All in all, we liked this location because it felt very private. No one could see directly into the room. The view wasn't great but the shady location would be a bonus to anyone staying at the YC during really hot weather. :) We didn't make any room requests this time, but a gazebo view would have given us a better view.

When I opened the door to take a picture of the room number, the housekeeper was in the hallway, serving the room across the hall. I ended up with a fuzzy picture because I wasn't expecting anyone to be out there and I forget to get a better picture later. ;)

We had a few extra DVC points so I decided to tack on 4 nights to our summer vacation in a studio at BCV August 8-12th. We are staying the 12th-15th at VGF then the 15th-22nd in a 2 bedroom at Jambo. My kids know about VGF and AKL but I think we're going to surprise them with our stay at Beach Club- they love SAB! I'm a little concerned about the allergy offerings at Beach Club and around the Boardwalk, doesn't appear to be as many options as before and not any available in that area through mobile order.

I like to take a pic of my room number too. Thx for the pix Sue!

Staying YC water view 1/24-1/26. Based on Touring Plans room finder we have the greatest chance of getting a great view of Crescent Lake by requesting a king bed. Anyone have experience with that?

The 1 bedroom has sleeping surfaces for 4 but you can book 5 people in a Beach Club 1 bedroom, you have to provide the sleeping surface for the 5th person.

Regarding whether you can book a 5th person in a 1-bedroom villa at the Beach Club: there used to be one rule if you were booking on DVC points and a different rule if you were making a cash reservation through Disney. I'm not sure what the rule is now.
