Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

Yes, sorry. Studio vs 1 bedroom. 1 bedroom technically only holds 4 people, so I'd need to book one kid in with the grandparents.

ok so what are you planning to do about beds if you stay in a 1-bedroom? There are 5 of you. You get a king size bed in the bedroom and a sleeper sofa in the living room. Somebody sleeping on the floor? Would you take an air mattress with you?

if you are booking through Disney (cash resie) that’s a lot of money for not having a real bed for everyone, in my opinion.

the studio would give you an extra sleeping surface (pull down bed which is smaller than a twin size bed) but that’s a lot of people to cram in the room. If pull down bed and sleeper sofa are both open, i would think you could barely walk through the room.

I used the touring plans room request and requested this or a similar room in this location.

And yes, we have a Garden/Woods view booked.

The view at night:

Pretty sure I stayed in that room or one very very close to it, it was definitely a Garden/Woods view and I was surprised, I thought I had gotten upgraded!

The neat thing is now the app has all the menus! Open the app, on the bottom tap the "+" sign. The 2nd choice down "order food" has all the qs restaurants and menus. A few places like Ale and Compass even have a to-go menu now.

I have had fun checking out all the resorts foods. You never know if you see something you must have, even if just a cupcake lol.

Thanks, this is helpful.

My 2 oldest refuse to share a bed, and nobody wants to sleep with the littlest, so 1-2 always sleep on the floor in a hotel. We bring sleeping bags. When we had a 1-bedroom at boardwalk (littlest was 2 so didn't count), two were on the floor. We like villas because we like the kitchen- we tend to feel better if we eat more familiar food and less restaurant fare, but maybe a regular room (with a kid booked in with grandparents) would be about the same as a studio. There are probably better resort rooms for us, but I've been waiting for them all to be ok swimmers to try out Beach Club!

Remember that the studio's idea of a kitchen is a microwave, toaster, coffee pot and tiny fridge - there are real dishes though. the 1-bedroom has a bigger real kitchen I think....

We’re in a 1BR right now. Full size fridge/freezer, stove, oven, microwave, coffee pot, toaster, dishwasher, full size sink, ample counter space, more utensils, dishes, and pots/pans than anyone can use on vacation! In addition to the kitchen a 1BR+ has their own washer/dryer.

Thanks!

This is the info we have on the resort mattresses (From Page 1, Post 14- Other Useful Info). Does anyone know if the YC rooms post-renovation have the same mattresses as the BC?

I've never slept better in my life- can I buy the mattress?

Yes!!!

Bedding Info

Many people have commented on the comfort of the mattresses at the resort and the daybed/sleepers.

The BC mattresses in renovated rooms are Beautyrest brand by Simmons Hospitality. Label

I think (but can't swear on a Bible) that if you book YC or BC, you can request a daybed and if you don't get it you can request a rollaway bed. BCV is NOT supposed to give you a rollaway bed.

As PP said, the studio has a kitchenette. It has a fridge, but so do YC and BC rooms (as far as I know). The studio kitchenette also has a microwave and toaster -- but if those are not sufficient for preparing your meals, you might be better off with a regular YC or BC room instead of a studio.

@ Dee
Oh girl! You were working so hard with all those updates! Now, I have a change for the BOG List. Due to the refurb at CR, I am now splitting my stay with GF. I was kicked out of YC last summer and kicked out of CR next summer.😜 I originally didn't have the dates totally correct anyway. June 13-16 is GF and June 16-21 is YC

Thank you for all your hard work!!

Do you remember what room number this was? What was the bedding (Queen Beds or King? Daybed or none?

Thanks!
I believe it was 1018 or 1016. Far back side of the maze hallway. What you can't really see is beyond the grassy area and trees, there's a quiet a utility road, I saw a few people walking on it and a golf cart or two! They were Queens I'd say, definitely smaller than our King house bed. I liked that we had ports on each of the sides to plug things in (which was a surprising plus over the Contemporary room). Yes, there was a daybed, which was great because my teen ended up wanted to not share a bed with sibling after the first night :) Drawback was a long walk to the lobby but, it was first floor, no big deal to me except longer to get a cup of coffee, plus was easy walk to the leisure pool and the marina exit. There's a laundry room around another corner with vending which we ended up using. The closest exit door going out puts you right next to the marina.

Thank you for the great details! I'll add the description of your room to the YC View thread.

:thumbsup2

Hi! We are booked for the first time at the YC in February. Am I correct that we’ll be guaranteed a room with a daybed if there are 5 of us? Admittedly I haven’t read through this entire thread, but some of the recent posts about daybeds made me nervous.
