Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

We checked in to room 3093 today. Has a great view, similar to one someone else posted/Recommended. I can’t wait to see it tonight! We spent the day at Magic Kingdom, but got through so much so quickly we came back to the resort to warm up and rest before dinner at The Wave. Looking forward to the warmer weather we’re supposed to be getting for a day or two!

Great view! Any particular requests you put in to get that view?

Oh, I love that view! We were in room 2093 a few years ago and we absolutely loved the location and view! Enjoy!

About to book Christmas week at Beach Club. We've gone Christmas week every year from 2009-2018. In 2016 when my sister and I were employed long enough to afford our own part of the trip, we upgraded to Beach Club and fell in love. We returned in 2017 and 2018. My dad passed in 2019 and we couldn't bring ourselves to go back just yet.

After 2020, we're ready to go back. Holy heck, one less person in the room really drives the cost up, huh? We played with numbers and considered Coronado, but my mom wants to go back "home" to Beach Club. She likes the fact that she could walk back to the resort on her own if my sister and i wanna stay at Epcot; and the fact that there's stuff to do around the resort if she wants to hang back. And what mom says...goes.

So we're "springing" for a room at BC from 12/24 - 1/1, unless a deal pops up or flights are crazy expensive on 12/24 (holiday + Friday) and we fly in on 12/23.

:welcome: back!

Sorry to hear about your dad :(

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list on Page 1, Post 15.

:cool1:

How is BCV handling grocery deliveries right now with the main part of the resort closed?

:welcome: to posting on this thread.

Hope you have/are having a great trip!

We recently returned from a great YC stay 12/27-12/31. We’ve stayed at BC and BWI but this is our first YC stay. We were in a water view in 2051 and loved the view of the boardwalk.

QS at YC and Boardwalk bakery were great but we really enjoyed our dinner at Martha’s Vinyard. It was quiet and our waiter David was wonderful.

The pool was never crowded but the water was a little chilly for me.

It was our first trip between Christmas and New Years and crowds were not too bad. I would say our EP day was the busiest with the longest lines but still a fun day.

My favorite part about staying at YC was going back for our ROTR ride. We had a backup boarding group of 169 and didn’t think we would get called but we did around 645 and were able to get over there, do our ride (which was awesome!) and get back for our Il Mulino reservation at 815. Whew!

All in all another great trip and a much
Needed get away!

Thanks for giving us a review of your trip.

What was the bedding in your room? Queen beds? Daybed or no?

Thanks!

::yes::

Do you mind sharing where you saw these reports of guests being held up on the Contemporary-MK walkway? I added extra days on the end of my trip at the Contemporary for the express purpose of being able to walk to MK prior to opening to get a jump on the crowds.

With the discounts out for our dates today, we made it official! We will be at YC for the second week of our split stay, 5/30 - 6/4. 5/30 is my birthday so we hope to have a nice birthday breakfast/brunch at GF Cafe, spend the day in MK and then hop to Epcot or the Studios while our stuff is being transferred to YC. I really hope Yachtsman is open, I would love a nice birthday dinner there! :D

Got it!

I'll update your info on the Be Our Guest list.

:thumbsup2

We were at MK this morning and had a very good lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern. MK was really crowded today. I got the message about the resort discounts released today and made a reservation for the Yacht Club - May 2nd to 7th, 2021. Our AP expires 5/26 and I wanted to get one more trip out of it. I really hope Cape May and some of the other restaurants are open again. I'm hoping that the fireworks are back by then, too.

Yay!

I'll add you back to the list.

Sorry if this is a second post you are reading from me but I have to say goodbye to this WONDERFUL BOARD and all you very nice and kind people! I was (no joke) on hold from 8:30 until 1:45 today and when I finally got through (and not hung up on) the 1 BC bedroom Villa was long gone for the 30% off promo but the nice lady looked and offered me a 1 bedroom Villa over at BW plus $248 credit. So I took it and I now need to figure out how to change my banner and start reading up on BW. I just wanted to THANK EVERYONE for all the information you gave me when I asked something and maybe in time we will try staying at the BC again!

Thanks for the kind words about this forum and the contributors.

Wishing you a fantastic trip, "across the pond"

I can't help you with info about that resort, or with editing your ticker- I think you need to create a new one reflecting the change.

:goodvibes:

I also ended up changing from Yacht Club to Riviera in a Tower Studio. The rooms look gorgeous and since it's just me I don't need a ton of extra space. It's a little bit more, but overall I think I'm going to be happier.

The February trip?

Enjoy the stay!

:cool2:

We're in!! I just booked DH & I's summer trip. We'll be at Yacht Club for 11 nights from 6/30-7/11 in a water view room for our 26th Anniversary. We're staying at OKW 6/27-6/30 before switching to Yacht. It'll be our 1st stay at OKW, our 1st split stay, our first vacation of more than 10 days & our 2nd Yacht stay (first was way back in '08). We always stay at BWI but we're excited for the Yacht Club. I'll be scouring this forum & I'm sure I'll have a ton of questions over the next few months. I'm counting the days already!!!

:welcome: back to the thread!

I'll add your trip to the Be Our Guest list on Page 1, Post 15.

:woohoo:

Add me to the list! Sept 15-19th at the YC for our 1-year Anniversary :bride:

Fantastic! Will do!

Hi everybody I have a question for you YC experts: We booked a YC water view 2 queen room for a summer trip with our 2 kids who will both be over 18. They DO NOT want to share a bed. We have stayed at YC/BC a few times before and always had a day bed. Some of the recent discussion here makes it sound like maybe not all rooms at YC have a day bed? What's the likelihood we wouldn't have a day bed? If it's high, I will probably have to rebook somewhere else.

TIA

Both bedrooms had two queen beds. I honestly cannot remember if they had a daybed, but I'm thinking "no". The beds were extremely comfy - so much so that I want to call them directly to ask about the mattress.

Thanks!

This is the info we have on the resort mattresses (From Page 1, Post 14- Other Useful Info). Does anyone know if the YC rooms post-renovation have the same mattresses as the BC?

I've never slept better in my life- can I buy the mattress?

Yes!!!

Super excited to have booked my first visit to BCV today. I’ll be there Nov 29-Dec 7 in a studio. I’m so excited to have a couch to sit on instead of a bed during my breaks from the parks.

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15.

Just to update, we had booked a deluxe 2 queen room at Beach Club for 8 nights beginning May 26. Due to Beach Club not re-opening until May 30, my TA called to see what our options are. I was expecting to be moved to Yacht Club in a 2 queen room, but she was offered a 2 bedroom lake view villa at Bay Lake Tower which has a king bed in one bedroom and 2 queens in the second bedroom, plus a sofa bed! And 3 bathrooms! After wrapping my head around the fact that we would not be based in the Epcot area this trip and will miss Stormalong Bay, we decided we just couldn’t pass up having this much extra room, extra bathrooms, living room, washer/dryer and full kitchen for the same price as a deluxe single room. I’ve never stayed anywhere but Beach Club, so this will be a new adventure. We‘ve never stayed DVC before and excited to learn more about Bay Lake Tower. Was anyone else offered a significant upgrade because Beach Club will be closed during their reservation and did you call to modify the reservation or did Disney move you?

Wow! The rooms I have seen at BLT look amazing and some of them have spectacular MK views. The space will be incredible. Enjoy your trip!

:woohoo:

Quiet, but not necessarily a ghost town. We’re here at the BCVs
and I should have been finishing up a 10K right now! The quietest area is the Beach Club main lobby, but it’s still staffed with CMs and Bell Services. All pools are active, along with the Marketplace. Weather has been perfect so far with a cool down coming this weekend. We’re here until next Wednesday, so any specific questions just let me know.
ETA Christmas decorations came down overnight.

Thanks so much for sharing your observences.

I have lost track of what is available for food at the Beach Club Marketplace currently. If you have a chance, could you scope out the breakfast and lunch/dinner options and perhaps snap a photo of the menu boards?

:thanks:

We had a water view room in October that had a daybed but there is no guarantee that you will receive one. I believe that the percentage of rooms with a daybed is high, though. You can request a daybed by calling Disney and have it added to your reservation. It isn't a guarantee but they will try to honor it. :)

OK great I'll do that! Of course I didn't look at the first page of this thread til after I posted my question but it also looks like you can request a rollaway bed, worst case scenario.

Did you find that you were far from the elevator in your room? We are booked Water View and would likely want to avoid that, even as a priority over having a King room. The hike through those labyrinthine hallways is the only real issue I had when I stayed at BC.

Our room was very close to the elevator. It overlooked the lakeside entrance to the YC. I posted some pictures of it in the Yacht Club room view thread. :)

What would you do for a family of 5 in Beach Club Villas (kids are 10/7/5)?
Studio with all 5 of us .
One-bedroom, booking one kid with the grandparents in their Beach Club room even though he'll sleep in our room anyway.

We were at Boardwalk once in a one-bedroom, and we loved having the two rooms, but that was when the littlest still didn't count. The studios seems cramped to me, from looking at the floor plan.

Not sure what you’re asking. Is your question studio vs 1-bedroom?

I think 10/7/5 are too old to all share a sofa bed, so I would book the studio. We've stayed in various DVC studios with 5 of us (kids aged 9/9/5) and it worked, though agree it is a bit cramped. Still, better to have a cramped room than have the kids fighting all night because they don't have enough space to sleep. We once booked a room at BC (hotel, not DVC) when my youngest was 2 (almost 3) and large for his age so he couldn't use a pack and play. We requested a room with the daybed but our request wasn't honored (knew that was a risk but we were there in off season--late August so were hopeful), and the hotel said they couldn't move us, so we ended up in a room with just two queens. Boy was that a mistake. The kids kept us up the first half of the night crying because they kept waking each other up, and we ended up taking the youngest into the bed with DH and I, which was also miserable (I got kicked in the face a LOT). Now we won't stay anywhere, Disney or otherwise, with enough sleeping surfaces so that no more than two people are sharing a bed.

Will do! At the pool right now, but will try to get a picture of the menu today. Off the top of my head, I know they have a chicken dinner, chili cheese dog, pulled pork sandwich, mac n’ cheese with bacon for dinner. I haven’t seen the breakfast or lunch menu yet but will scope that out tomorrow.

Switching gears we had a great morning at HS and were finally able to secure a BG for ROTR! BG 16 got us on at 9:30 with a 9:00 park opening.
