Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

I have all of mine that I don’t use on a specific trip deactivated, apparently they will still mess with your MDE though. I just read in the past few days that some people have been able to actually have them deleted from their account, where they don’t show up at all, and that actually did help their MB problems some. No one has ever offered that to me, either CMs at the resorts or on the phone when we. All when we had problems and weee told my account is considered very overloaded, or however they phrased it.
It would be nice if they really could delete them for good. I had a problem with my mb last trip but luckily we had a great cm at the front desk who told me that before we even left. I’m not sure how she knew but it was nice of her to fix it before we went all the way up to our room.

You can deactivate them yourself in MDE (on the website). If you go to the “magic bands and cards” page you can click on any band and make it “inactive.” I recently deactivated all of our gen 1 bands (and we even had some KTTW cards stil linked!!!)

As a pp said, I have all of my old ones deactivated but they are still causing issues, I want to call to have them permanently deleted from my account.

Deactivating them doesn't make any difference, I've been told. They are still read by the system as if they were active. When a CM looks at your account they see all those bands, even the deactivated ones. When we had problems with our bands not opening our resort door I had only four active bands and the rest of them were deactivated. So, for us, deactivating the bands didn't make a difference. Only having them deleted truly removed them from our account.

Ditto for us on only having 4-5 bands active out of the many in our account, and still having lots of problems with them not opening doors and accessing elevators. They are all still there, not sure that inactivating does much of anything except (I assume) you can’t use them to get into the parks, charge, etc. I actually never tried to do that with an inactive one to test it, I just assumed and you know what happens when you assume!

My DH had to call to get his account linked so he could see our pics and have his AP show up in his account, it took him over an hour on the phone and the lady he talked to told him something like an account with 500 hits or marks or interactions or whatever she called them is considered a very large one with Disney IT that can cause issues, and mine had over 650. I guess every ADR, FP, cancelled ADR or FP, room reservation, cancelled reservation, MB, etc is considered one of these interactions, according to her. But if that’s the case I’m surprised I only have 650, and I’m surprised Amy repeat visitor with a large family doesn’t easily get over that Amt. I know I make and cancel ADRs all the time for 6 people, so right there we can rack up a ton of interactions.

I am continually amazed and appalled at how bad Disney’s IT, web site, and App are for how sophisticated it seems they would want to be seen as, and for how much all aspects of planning a Disney trip rely on their Website and app!

We are considering at stay in a DVC studio -- have always wanted to stay here!

So, we are a family of 5. Kids would be 9,6 and 6 at the time of our trip.

One would sleep on the pull down, one with me and the other on a blow up mattress on the floor (she is a wild and crazy sleeper, can't share a bed and would undoubtedly fall out of the pull down kid bed.)

How comfortable have folks found the fit with five people?

And unrelated, how is the boat to Hollywood Studios?

Last I heard the boats were down, but supposed to open soon. Can anyone confirm? They work okay, but they are a little slow and you will have to share stops with BW and Swan/Dolphin so its not "quick" like a monorail type of transport.

Also, I've heard the quiet pool at the Beach club is getting refurbed and was closed in May/June...anyone know if its up yet? We will be there in mid-July and I know we used it a lot last time we stayed as SAB closes early (10pm still?). We often like to take a quick dip when we return from the parks at night. Thanks!

We've never done a villa, but as a family of five (kids are 15, 11, and 9) we've fit fine in the regular room. We've stayed at BC, Poly, and AoA.

:welcome: back!

I'll add your trip to the Be Our Guest list.

I haven't heard that the boats are operating yet, but it should be soon.

The quiet pool was open in early June. There was still a lot of equipment in the area which was reported to be very disruptive. Not sure what it is like now, but I'll ask some friends that are there now. By July it will hopefully be back to normal.

Stormalong Bay has been open until 11 pm these past few days.

:fish:

How long does the walk take? I feel like the walk seems much longer than it actually is when viewing it from the boat on the way to the park. Also, is the walk well lit up at night?

We timed it last night. 15 minutes for us from the start of the path behind Boardwalk to front of HS. And yes, it is lit up at night! There are lights along the whole path.

We checked out of the YC yesterday and the boats were not running yet to DHS. When we checked in, the CM told me they’d be running again on 6/29, which is today. Maybe someone there now will report soon if they are running yet.

In the BCV studios, do you think with all of the beds down that you could fit a toddler-sized blow up bed or even a twin?

The sign still said they were not running!!

The studio doesn’t have very much floor space when the sofa bed is down. I haven’t been in one since they added the drop down bed. I would get a small air mattress if possible. :)

The quiet pool is not getting refurbished. They were painting the resort building and at times the equipment blocked one or more of the entrances to the pool. But the pool remained open. We watched them paint while we swam. I would think that they are done painting now. :)

Hmmm. This is what I’m worried about. One of us can sleep with one of our twins but the other is a dealbreaker. Picture sleeping with a drunk octopus looking for its keys. She needs to sleep on the floor. I don’t mind being cramped. We can make it work so long as her air mattress would fit on the ground.

Would a toddler sized bed fit over by the bathroom? (I know she wouldn’t fit in the bathroom but that’s where the rest of us would prefer she sleep!)

ive heard people talk about their rooms being far away from mug stations in BC or YC etc. but when i took at the maps i gotta say - these resorts look so small, is anywhere really that far unless youre in one of the villas? or is it only because im comparing it to other resort levels? maybe my perception is skewed. i stayed at POFQ and BW both twice and both times had a room right off the lobby or the building right off the lobby and it was really no big deal, so maybe ive just always been pretty lucky :)

I think that it must be really boring walking through interior hallways and it must feel like the rooms are far from the refill stations. But resorts that have rooms in multiple buildings, which is all of them except YC, BC, BWI, WL, and AKL (did I miss any?) would have rooms that are much further than the furthest room in the YC or BC. :)

I really disliked not having a dedicated mug station in YC prior to the recent refurb. So glad the Market at Ale & Compass was added!

Are there certain sections in YC that have the day beds? This is a first stay for us. 2 years ago, we stayed at BC and our room had one. It really helps for spreading out.
