Here is the view from our room.
Just back from a 6 night stay
I'm trying to figure out what to request for our room. It's a 1 BR Dec 27-Dec 4 at BCV. Do the 5th-floor rooms have a full balcony? I would rather have a 1st floor room with a patio or top floor with a chance for a view but I am unsure. This is a laid-back trip, golf a couple of times and parks early and late most days. No need to ride it all and kill ourselves trying. I have not even looked to see what we might want to eat for ADR's and it's time to do them. I just don't really want to be tied down but I know at that time of year we need to make them.
The Yacht Club's Ale & Compass now has a private area for small groups, called The Keeper's Room. It can accommodate up to 24 people, for private breakfast, lunch, and dinner functions.
There are comments that the A&C Lounge and Restaurant are seldom busy, and this is a way to bring in some business.

Just took advantage of the welcome back offer Disney sent today. Looking forward to returning to Yacht Club in December. Had been planning on going in November, but when you can double your stay for less money I’m gonna go with the longer stay
We walk it all the time. At a leisurely pace it takes no more than half an hour. We do it in about 20 min. When HS closes there are alot of people walking back, so we feel comfortably safe. I wouldnt want to walk any later though. Its a beautiful, quiet walk with no crowds.
We are staying in a 1 bed villa Sept 1-3.
We stayed here for the first time last Labor Day but it was for only one night. The kids are excited to use the pool longer, and I'm excited that we don't have to drive or take Disney transportation to any parks! (We're only doing Epcot).
Had a lovely stay at the BC! Kids loved SAB, we loved the walk to Epcot. Beautiful resort!
I am continually amazed and appalled at how bad Disney’s IT, web site, and App are for how sophisticated it seems they would want to be seen as, and for how much all aspects of planning a Disney trip rely on their Website and app!
We are considering at stay in a DVC studio -- have always wanted to stay here!
So, we are a family of 5. Kids would be 9,6 and 6 at the time of our trip.
One would sleep on the pull down, one with me and the other on a blow up mattress on the floor (she is a wild and crazy sleeper, can't share a bed and would undoubtedly fall out of the pull down kid bed.)
How comfortable have folks found the fit with five people?
And unrelated, how is the boat to Hollywood Studios?
Are there certain sections in YC that have the day beds? This is a first stay for us. 2 years ago, we stayed at BC and our room had one. It really helps for spreading out.
Those guests on the first boat were going to be late - the park opened at 6 this morning!BREAKING NEWS!!!
Friendship Boats have been checked and cleared and are now running to Hollywood Studios!
Good thing, too, with Toy Story Land opening today. Heard that rides started running at 6 am and people were camped out in line overnight.
