Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

Happy Birthday Lily!!!!!!!!!!!!

We were at YC two weeks ago. Couldn't get BC for the entire stay at CL. I sure missed the BC side. We stopped to visit with Teena for a quick minute while getting lunch one afternoon. She is just the sweetest.

The YC is up for reno and it needs it. I could really feel the rooms being tired. Anyone else feel that way? The CL staff was so nice. We only did the MK one day and spent the rest of the time enjoying SAB. Such a nice relaxing vacation. I've never came back rested until this yr. I highly recommend a resort stay.

So excited to be staying at YC 7/14-7/16. Just a short relaxing trip. Really wanting to just enjoy the resort and SAB. We do have a few fast passes, but not looking to fight the crowds in the park. This is my favorite resort, sad they are going under a reno soon, but as PP stated, it does need it. It also forced me to book BC for our food and wine trip 10/10.

We didn't even ask for a king because I heard there were so few and I didn't want to limit our options, but my husband is 6'5" and I'm 5'9" so getting a king was SUCH a blessing!!

Such a nice way to begin a vacation! There's nothing quite like staying in a newly renovated room. Everything is just so fresh and "new." Enjoy!!

Good to know about the strict closing time for SAB. The quiet pools having a posted closing time is a bit disappointing. I keep seeing conflicting information about that. On Allears the information about the quiet pools seems to show that the quiet pools are open 24 hours a day. Do you think this is outdated information or a case of it officially closing at a certain time but they really don't care if you use it as long as you stay quiet?

They have the pool hours posted for all the pools, and the official hours of the BC quiet pool are 7 am to 11pm. Those were the hours when we were there this past April.

I have never been to any of the quiet pools, so I am not entirely sure of the answers, but I believe the hours are posted as Wood Nymph mentions above, but I don't think there are any fences around the quiet pools and no lifeguards, so I am not sure how the hours are enforced. That could be the reason for the conflicting/confusing information you are seeing.

:)

What a great thread! I can't believe that I haven't found it before.

Our next trip to BCV will be 12/12-12/19 and 12/21-12/26 (we couldn't get the middle two nights and so are doing a split stay with AKLV).

This will be our first Christmas trip so I'm very excited!

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1.

Glad you are finding this thread to be helpful.

:cool1:

Club level just opened up for our dates at YC. Anyone stayed CL there that has any insight to share?

A lot of people have given you some great feedback about club level. We really like the breakfast in the mornings. It is quick, convenient and there are great selections. It gets us out the parks by (EMH) rope drop.

We used to love the dining plan, but we have been skipping it for our recent trips because we find it is not worth it for our family, CL or not.

I don't know if you have checked out the info about club level at the front of this thread (Post 12), but there is a lot of info and pictures there.

:thumbsup2

Four days until we arrive! If anyone has anything they would like me to find out at YC/BC just let me know.

We switched our "bonus" night (added a night to our trip because Southwest had their wonderful sale and it was cheaper to add a day,) from Grand Floridian to Poly villas. We've never stayed at the Poly and this is my husband's first DVC resort stay. We've stayed at AKL and BLT when he wasn't with us and I stayed at SSR when I ran the Princess Half Marathon with girlfriends. We are super excited to stay at Poly! BC will always be our favorite resort though.

I was looking over the tours and noticed Disney added a new one that goes around World Showcase. Has anyone done this tour? I'm going to book it for my husband and me. I had wanted to book the Keys to the Kingdom tour for my daughter's 16th birthday but she doesn't want to do it. Phooey! Even though this would have been my third KTTK tour, I still would love to do it again!

Happy Saturday!

So close! :woohoo:

I would love to check out the Poly villas. Great choice!

The World Showcase tour sounds awesome. I hope you do it.

renovations at the Yacht Club in Oct

I forgot to :welcome: you here.

Do you have a trip booked?

Just an FYI everyone.... I was scrolling through my old pics on Instagram and found one from when JNPants and I were upgraded to the Nantucket Suite (BC VP) in 2012. I had hash-tagged "NantucketSuite" and this morning I tapped on it to see if anyone else had done the same, and I came to a short video of the Nantucket Suite from a few weeks ago, since the remodel and HOLY COW is it gorgeous!
So, if you want to see it, and you have Instagram, search for #nantucketsuite and you'll easily find it. Enjoy!

Welcome to all the new members that have discovered this amazing ( the best actually) thread on the Dis!!!!

64 days to go!!! Guess I better make a FP plan!!!!

Just curious, if you could only pick one TS for breakfast, one for lunch and one for Dinner what would they be? No character meals!

Took me awhile to finally respond to this but here are mine:

Breakfast: Kona Café, no question!!!

Lunch: Usually counter service for us (Columbia Harbor House, Sunshine Seasons or Tangierine Café) but for a Table Service the boys like Sci-Fi

Dinner: La Hacienda- we have only been there once, but the meal was out of this world!

In a somewhat related topic, here is USAToday's Readers Choice Top 10 (plus) amusement park restaurants. The top 3 are actually Darkside places and I totally agree with Leaky Cauldron and Cowfish (both new).

It's funny that the only WDW restaurant that made the list was BOG - in my three dinner experiences there, I found the food to be less than stellar...atmosphere is amazing though... We'll be trying the lunch this fall.

We really loved La Hacienda on our last visit! It was better than our first time.

Kona is booked 3 times this trip for us. Because I have to get more than one menu item.....and can't eat all of it in one trip !!!

We really enjoyed Leaky Cauldron, and tried to get into Cowfish but it was booked solid!!!!!

I can't wait to try it for the second time!

The Macadamia-Freaking-Pineapple Pancakes are my FAVORITE thing to eat in the World.

We really enjoyed Leaky Cauldron, and tried to get into Cowfish but it was booked solid!!!!!

We had lunch at Cowfish and it wasn't too crowded. We plan on doing that again in August since they don't take reservations there.

We loved Leaky Cauldron too! Great atmosphere! My younger daughter was so excited! I used to love Blue Bayou when I went to DL. Again, atmosphere! But just can't agree with Be Our Guest. Food was ok, but there's better places to eat in WDW.

We have been here 20 minutes and we're in LOVE with this resort! The new rooms are gorgeous!!!
Oooh...you got one of the few rooms with a wet bar. This is the first time I have seen this room type, since the updates.

If you have not already done so, let the front desk know that you are celebrating. Hope you enjoy your stay and have a very happy anniversary.

This will be my first time staying in the EPCOT/Boardwalk area. Some of our nights, the parks will all close by 9:00 PM - we're a party of 13 adults with some birthday celebrating to do! :-) After the parks close, what are some of your favorite places near the BC/YC to have a nightcap? Crew's Cup Lounge looks like a good start, since it's open until midnight. I don't think everyone in our group will want to pay a cover to get into Jellyrolls, and we would likely want some place that's quieter.

All this talk about Kona Cafe has me so excited - we'll be having my 40th birthday brunch there! I've never been!

Flights for the April trip are booked. I always end up taking the same one home, but am arriving on one that should have me landing before 1:00 for more park time since it is a stroll into Epcot.

I did, thank you, it does have a lot of great info! It's just always nice to hear people's personal experiences too. We are currently booked with free dining, which I'm not super crazy about, but we do have several character buffets so it would work out okay this trip. Guess it comes down to whether I want to give up a night at AKL or not :) I'll have to make a decision soon, though!
