Today is the day, people!!! Of course I woke up at 4:45 and couldn't go back to sleep so I'm already exhausted, haha!

Quick question.....I know rooms are already assigned so I wondered if it would be too late to call and inquire about upgrading to club level. It's our anniversary and we've had a really tough year so I thought it would be a fun surprise for my husband (he has LOVED the two times we've stayed CL.) Would it be too late for us to check?

Even though rooms are assigned, I'm sure if there is availability at club level (for the entirety of your stay) it would not be a problem to upgrade. The question is, who should you call? The resort directly? IPO to see if they know if there are any rooms available for your stay?

I would say you could inquire as you are checking in (did you do advanced checkin?) but then you wouldn't really have the surprise factor.

I would maybe call and make sure they have your celebration noted. Then at check-in, you can ask about availability of an upgrade either as pixie dust upgrade or paid for. I have never done club level but, I LOVE the villas. Having extra room and a whirlpool in room is so worth it! That may be an option if CL is packed... just note, they are renovating at BCV. Have a wonderful time and let us know how things work out for you!

Oh wow, we moved from BCV due to the proposed refurb....guess we should have given it some time. After our Trip there last year, it was very clear they need a refurb desperately. Great location, love the amenities but the rooms are so dated and showing wear.

I don't get over to the villas/DVC pages as much as I should. Do we actually have confirmation that the refurbs have started? All I have heard so far is that sample rooms were being done and that a whole lot of availability opened up for August and maybe September. Has anyone with upcoming fall stays at BCV received any letters about potential renos?

Ours was for December and we received the construction/Reno letter in May. That's when we moved to WL.

So far we love it. Our condo is on the beach, beach is beautiful and condo is perfect. We had a super dinner at a restaurant we walked to and there is an ice cream shop across the street from us. Very noisy until 10 pm ....lots of music, partying and then at 10 dead silence ...so funny.

Excellent!! Definitely update us on the ice cream place when you return (I've been searching TripAdvisor for eateries). Hoping Jeanne and Lily are loving the calm waters

Does anyone have any suggestions of good room number requests for a standard view room?

As others have suggested, it is best to request what you want in words. Most of the standard views at the BC are either of rooftops or are facing the front entrance (parking lot) of the resort. I'll post the link to the View Thread, which has samples of some of the possible views in each room category.

So my fiancee and I finally booked our honeymoon! We are currently booked for a stay at the Yacht Club from 4/11/16-4/21/16. She has been to Disney before but I haven't and I am beyond excited for it. We have the Yacht Club booked now but when spring 2016 discounts come out we will try to take whatever is available at either the YC or BC. If a 1 bedroom villa at the BC is available at a discount we may even take that because a larger walk in shower and jacuzi feels more honeymoon-like!

With that said I had some questions about stormalong bay! Our top reason for picking the YC/BC is the location. The boardwalk inn was another choice at first because of location. However, since neither of us have experienced it and I've heard great things we really wanted to experience stormalong bay. This question may seem silly but I wanted to see what people said...I know you don't really go to Disney expecting much peace and tranquility. We are a couple that loves being active and would rather be at a theme park than sitting on a beach. With stormalong bay though we are curious if there are any areas that are quieter, more calm or simply aren't as crowded...So if we did want to relax at the pool we wouldn't be completely surrounded by families and kids with pool toys! We fully expect stormalong bay to be crazy and full of kids having fun. We just didn't know if there are any more secluded areas.

I have always been able to find some quiet pockets at SAB, even in July and August. There is the section of the pool with the waterfall, and parts of that tend to be less crowded than the activities pool (near where the slide lets out), or the lazy river, or the sandbar area.

I've been lurking on this thread for the last few weeks in anticipation of our Yacht Club stay later this month. We've stayed Beach Club villas multiple times, but never at Yacht Club. We have a Garden View booked. Any ideas on where our room might be located? Will we have a balcony? Is there a Yacht Club quiet pool? We are staying with two tween girls who have never been to Storm along Bay so we plan to spend a lot of our time there. Any suggestions?

Yes, you will have a balcony. The only room I know about at YC without a full balcony is a club level water view room.

For a garden view, you may be looking out over back entrance (lakeside) courtyard or one of the other lakeside courtyard areas (like the wedding gazebo).

Thanks! That was my debate ...who to call? I doubt we could afford it anyway. Based on what I saw online when we booked it would add about $800. We were just blessed with a small gift, but not sure we can afford to 'blow it' on the upgrade

Oh, I would never ask for pixie dust, but did consider just asking when we check in. We did online check in, though, so I don't know if that would work. Good suggestion to check the website for availability. We booked with a PIN code, so I don't know if it would apply to what's available but it doesn't hurt to see if anything is with the general price!

I have not received a letter for our October stay...Only one night though and I am sure it will be fine. Not a lot of talk on the Disboards villas threads about renovation update..Strange though the last time I asked MS about time line they said it was happening almost simultaneously with BWV if not a little after. Guess time will tell in the next couple of months. HOPING SOON!
