Ticket price increase tomorrow

There are also some other changes to expiration dates, online/phone ordering discounts, water park fun and more....

Anyone have a suggestion on what to request for a standard room at beach club?
We want to be on the lake side if possible.
Thanks!

You can't request a lake view if you booked a standard view. You might get lucky & get an upgrade if standard view is overbooked but it's not something you can request. If you want to see BC's room map here's the link. It might give you some ideas on where you'd like to be. Map starts at post #11297. http://www.disboards.com/threads/di...rb-news-post-1.3400342/page-565#post-56064293

And you should be able to buy a loaf of white bread or wheat bread in the BC Marketplace. (Somebody asked about toast.)

P.S. to Dee: I just went on the DVC Member website and downloaded the most recent Grocery Order list for the Beach Club. It is dated 03/10/16. Let me know if you need me to email it to you.

I'd love it!!!

Thanks!!!

Not very happy about this but the price we pay to play I guess , I just got of the phone with Disney and tried to renew my annual pass the CM told me that I could not renew now I have to wait until 60 days before my expiration date .

I have a few posts to catch up and comment on, but I just remembered something as I wrote and posted an update in my Anniversary trip report.

We had a pre-park opening breakfast at the Magic Kingdom one morning. We were out at the Beach Club bus stop around 6:30 am. Before the MK bus came there was one for Hollywood Studios. Must have been either a breakfast bus or because of a pay for early entry day at HS. I was not aware there were buses from the resort to HS, but I guess it makes sense if guests need to be there before the boats start running.

Has anyone else encountered early morning HS buses?

This was October 2016. When I was out at the stop from 6:30 to a little after 7 in Aug 2015, I only saw MK and AK buses.

:car:

Dee, can you please add us to the BOG list. We will be staying at the YC (for the first time) from 8/23 thru 8/28 and then going to the GF for 3 nights. Can't wait to be back at Disney!!!!

Something to ponder about the Disney ticket price increase: "Also starting Sunday: Visitors buying tickets online or on their phones can save $20 on Magic Your Way bundles from three to 10 days. SeaWorld and Universal Orlando also charge less for online purchases." (from the Orlando Sentinel article)

If you buy online: If you buy today, the ticket price may be cheaper than it will be tomorrow, but there's no discount for making the purchase online. If you buy tomorrow you apparently will be get a $20 discount for buying online. Will the ticket price be increased by more than $20? Is this something that is being discussed everywhere and I shouldn't be bothering to mention it here?

I heard there was going to be a price increase so I bought a ticket on Thursday. I guess tomorrow I will learn if that was a good idea or not.

Anyway, note to Dee: I emailed you the most recent Beach Club Villas grocery order list. (To everyone else: we use this for reference when someone asks, "Does the Beach Club Marketplace sell [insert grocery item here], and if so, how much does it cost?")

Any news regarding Yacht Club room renovations? I saw the pictures of the test rooms but I'm curious how the final version turned out because I might be staying at this resort this summer. In the past Disney has always been very giving in providing us with unique offer codes so I'm waiting to see if they send us one within the next few weeks so that I can finally make a reservation, if not then I'll just make a reservation without any discounts and then apply the regular public offer when it becomes available.

Thanks for this!!! We are buying Canadian discount tickets it thought we had until the end of February to buy... if the price goes up, 25% off won't be as good a deal!!!

I wonder if the work they are doing at Fittings & Fairings, which I have heard will include quick serve options, is a replacement for what had been reported about Ale & Compass.

If anyone hears anything, please share!

:magnify:

Not sure about quick service, but we are at Yacht Club now and a couple of cast members who noticed our resort mugs confirmed that refill will be coming soon to Fittings and Fairings. Given the size of what they are working on I'd say quick service is probable (we didn't ask, but will if we get a chance again)

Omg so confusing. I'm just buying tonight to be safe. I'd rather be out $20 than risk the price being even higher.

I wasn't going to bother with mugs since Hurricane Hanna's isn't exactly close to YC, but if they really are going to have a mug station, I'd probably go for it. ANY kind of quick service there would be SO convenient!!!

Thanks for the information about toasters :) I don't usually do any checked bags but am considering it for this trip. Or perhaps just a garden grocer order. At least I'll be able to get some bread easily. Though if this new QS place is in place by the end of August that would be great too. I do have some time to plan I guess! I am very glad with the price increase on the tickets that I bought mine yesterday! Phew! Next step, waiting for my 180 days to book some dining! Just two I think, kiddo wants to go back to Tuskers and Garden Grill.

YC almost finished with 5th floor room refurbs and starting 4th floor. It looks like working their way down, floor by floor, with room carpet discontinued. 5th floor s/b done next week.

Any idea how long the 5th floor took? We will be there for 3 nights in very early March. What is the chances of getting a new room? We booked a Garden View Room. Wanted standard, but wasn't available with our pin code. Thanks!

I don't know, but suggest requesting it with reservations dept.

I have read that the bus stop for the Beach Club is closed and a temporary location is in the BC villas parking lot, is this true and if so how much of an inconvenience is it.
