Am I the only one who is creeped out by Floridian grass?? I just can't bring myself to walk through it

Yes! I grew up playing in the yard, rolling down hills, etc. We moved to Florida for about 10 years and I could never imagine my kids playing it. I used to actually call it "creepy jungle grass"

Just checking in to say that I will officially be staying at the Beach Club from April 21st through the 28th! My mom and I are coming down to run the Star Wars Half Marathon + 10K, and we will also be celebrating my 25th birthday on the 27th!

We are Disneyland Annual Passholders, and while I'm very well-versed in planning a California trip, I have never planned a WDW trip. My mom hasn't been to Orlando since the 80s, and I've only been there once in December 2012 for a surprise WDW trip which I had no hand in planning, so I'm very excited to get started!

I am very excited to be haunting the Yacht Club Halloween week. I have enjoyed the Beach Club a couple of trips and hope YC will be just as nice. I am not at all familiar with the layout of YC. We booked a garden/woods view. What should I be considering for room requests. I have always just left our room assignment to the luck of the draw. Can you ask to be near transportation/elevators/entrance??? Also, I have thought about placing an order with Garden Grocer or Amazon for water and snacks, but have no idea how to begin. Can you place an order two weeks out? Will it be delivered arrival day? I appreciate so much your knowledge and willingness to share the magic.

Lots of good info on this website to get you started- there are some really good threads on the Theme park board about FP+ which will be a different experience for you. Lots of restaurants to learn about, too!

Yes- you can request those things. Your request is fine or "Near lobby/elevators" would work.

I have never done a grocery order, but Page 1 (either Post 13 or 14) you can find some helpful info. A few things I do know:

The resort sells cases of water for about $7- this is a convenient way to get water for your room, OR you can purchase gallon jugs in the Marketplace or in the YC Gift Shop and refill a reusable water bottle to bring to the parks.

Garden Grocer has a minimum dollar limit for orders. I think there is a now a limited delivery window during the day.

With Amazon, orders through Amazon.com and Amazon Prime will be delivered to the YC Convention Center- not the resort hotel- and will be subject to a weight-based handling fee. No Bueno!!! Amazon Now has a delivery service can drop off at the hotels. Make sure you understand the service you are ordering from and where your order will be delivered.

The yacht club is so similar to the beach club. Personally, I would switch and save $400. You can still use all the same amenities as BC when at YC.

Both BC and YC are fantastic and are very convenient to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. They each have their advantages and disadvantages. For starters

Beach Club:

Newly Renovated
Not all rooms have full balconies. About half have smaller Juliet balconies where about one person can stand, but no tables or chairs will fit.
Closer to Marketplace gift shop, currently the only all-day quick service style location at the resort
Bright décor in livelier lobby than YC
Slightly closer to EPCOT

Yacht Club:

Scheduled to undergo room renovations in 2017 (not sure of exact start date, keeps getting changed)
Full balconies in all rooms!!! Having that extra space while the little ones are resting would be nice.
Darker, nautical décor in lobby
Slightly closer to boat dock for HS

Both have access to all resort amenities including the feature pool, Stormalong Bay.

Check out the first post in this thread and Post 8 (Beach Club) and Post 9 (Yacht Club) to see if either location "speaks" to you.

$400 savings for a few days is nothing to sneeze at!

I agree....Stayed at Yacht Club in April with a 3 year old and a 7 year old and it was great. Get to use all the YC BCV amenities so I would get the $400 savings and spend it in the park.

Oh, and I got all of the dining reservations we wanted at the times we wanted!

Also does anyone know if the accessible room WITHOUT roll-in shower has 2 sinks outside the tub/toilet room, or do they have 1 sink, tub, and toilet all together in 1 room?

We are in room 2600 in BC. It is accessible but small balcony.
Low entry tub.
One sink

Tub, sink, & toilet all in 1 room. Sliding pocket door.

Thank you. I will. I have been putting pictures of the HA rooms people have shared on the View/Description thread.

That is also a GREAT picture showing what the smaller balconies are like. I don't think I have really seen one from that perspective, showing the size.

Super excited - just booked our 2nd stay at YC CL!! We will be there May 24th-29th!! Please add us to the guest list for 2017.

We are doing s split stay and will be at Poly May 19th - 24th.

Nope. In August, we cut through the quiet pool then grass area on our way to SAB from our room on the opposite side of the quiet pool and one afternoon we saw a snake cross right in front of us on the sidewalk there by the quiet pool near the grass that we were just about to step on like every other afternoon. That afternoon after screaming loudly, we walked out to the big path to stormalong bay as not to walk in the grass. So yes, I agree with you, no grassy areas for us!

We prefer YC over BC but will stay in whichever room we can get a better rate for.
