Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

I know... right? My favorite poolside "take out muscles" is Matthew McConaughey but Zac Efron will do nicely in a pinch. Of course
Chris Pratt and Johnny Depp are welcome to save me a towel and a lounge chair too...

LOL!!! Apparently I needed a little more coffee this morning, spelling has never been my forte either! ...Admittedly I am loving this version as well!

If anyone wonders if Disney reads your communications, to answer that question, yes, they do. So...back on page 512 I posted some comments on a recent triple stay at VGF, SSR and Poly Villas. Although not a stay at YAB, we stay so often that it was suggested that folks on this thread might be interested in the comparisons of the resorts. Sorry if it was so long. Anyway, I took that post, added several additional both good and bad observations geared more towards overall Disney experiences and DVC and sent it to WDW and DVC via email Wednesday I think. I got standard form responses from both saying they had received my communication, it was important etc., etc. I then got an additional follow up from Disney saying that my email had been read and was being forwarded for research and they would get back to me. Well, I received a call this morning from a representative from DVC on behalf of Disney and we spoke for about an hour and a half. She informed me my email was 8 pages (what? Had no idea I rambled that long). Anyway, apparently she had already followed up on several of my comments and has requested that I continue to provide her with reports from our upcoming trip and any future trips. She gave me her direct phone and email address so I could contact her directly. She addressed several of my comments with me and wanted to continue to follow up on others. So...they do listen.

Glide stick for chafing. It is like a stick of deodorant. Ziploc baggies of all different sizes. I take a reading light for when I go out on the balcony in the early morning hours. balcony lights are not on at that time.

:goodvibes

We had a balcony light at YC concierge room that never ever worked despite reporting it three times to the hotel staff directly. It didn't stop us enjoying outdoor coffee breaks or a chilled out spell with a glass of wine or two or beers for DH ;) Just remember it could happen and it's best to be prepared.

I'm supposed to be asleep right now...but I'm not...because I can't...because I'm too excited...because we check into BCV today!

Just thought I'd share with folks who could understand. ;)
We can...that will be us tonight...although by the time of your post tomorrow morning we will already be on the road a couple of hours!

I have been told that Disney management does read and pay attention to the feedback they receive on surveys. Some guests have also said they were contacted about specific concerns after completing an after-stay survey.

I totally agree with you about the alarm clock. I definitely prefer to have a table clock to using my phone to tell time in the room

I found out in my conversation with DVC that at one point they had taken the real mugs and glasses out of the studios and because of all the feedback they received they added them back. Not sure who it was who said it previously, make sure everyone provides this feedback and requests the items. If too many people request them, they will end up adding them back.

One final call for any pics/investigative services etc. The only open request I seem to remember is pics of the bathroom near Ariels. I couldn't find the original post to pm whoever had the request but I assume you are referring to the one directly behind Cape May. Anything in particular you want?

And please, if anyone has additional requests post them on the board or pm me and I will be happy to help. I like to have missions. We will be there for 12 days so plenty of time. After all, we can't spend all our time at SAB (or can we?).

Hello everyone. I am leaving the board. Our friends (who we travel with) somehow lost their BC CL reservations for our dates and couldn't get another. We now switched over to Poly CL so we could all be together. We are aiming to try BC next year. Thank you all for your help! Enjoy your trips!

Hello! :wave2: If you end up staying in a renovated studio, can you make note of the size of your coffee maker (and if it is still a drip machine)? There are conflicting reports that the updated studios now have a 10-cup machine instead of a 4-cup.

Enjoy your trip! :flower1:

I've seen discussion on Rainkissed Leaves from Bath & Body Works reminding people of the Beach Club so FYI to anyone interested the semi-annual sale is on. Rainkissed Soap $24 for 6, $20 for 4. Lotion $2.75. Body cream $3. Body mist $5. The coupon code on the website is for $10 off $40 (code: WELOVESALE). If you're not going to purchase $40 worth, DISCOVER20 code will get you 20% off any order amount.

We are here and in a renovated room! It's absolutely beautiful and smells like fresh paint. We came in through the side door from the parking lot to escape the rain and ended up walking through the construction -oops! I didn't get pics, but they are working on the entire first floor of the wing on the canal side. Seems they are done with all the other floors of this wing and should be ready to move to the last one soon!

Will do and thank you!

Does anyone know the difference between a dedicated studio and lock off studio in the BCV? I think I understand the room connection aspect to be turned into a 2 bedroom if needed, but are the rooms the same size wise and furniture setup wise? And does anyone know if the noise from the service road is bad if you have a room in that area? Thank you for any feedback.

Hi all... wanted to give a quick run down of the past 3 days. Staying off property for business and will be checking into the YC in a few days, cannot wait!!! Just a few things to share for anyone who might be interested!

- First night had dinner at Cali Grill and saw Wishes from the observation deck which totally put us in a Disney mood (as though we weren't already)!
- Been to Disney Springs 3x and am loving the new format, spent a lot of time there during the rain today and DS got to pick from the huge pin board at the trading store which apparently only happens a few times a day- so cool! We love the entertainment, and Disney Quest is still open (and not busy)! Already been there 2x as well.
- Today we were supposed to hit the beach but the tropical storm hit. Tonight we resort hopped to GF and Poly just to see what they are like since we have always considered staying there. To each his own of course but my first impressions were that I still love the YC more!!! GF was regal and the lobby was so gorgeous and I loved that there was a band playing Disney tunes, it also smelled like YC in my opinion. The pool area just didn't seem even close to SAB which is a selling point for us at YC
- Poly was pretty in a different way but just completely hustle and bustle and people everywhere. I never understood how people say the YC is so quiet but omg I completely saw it first hand tonight! Again, to each his own but I love coming back to YC at night and it's so much more serene and peaceful after a busy day in the parks. We had fun riding the monorail around and passed Swan/Dolphin on the way back to our hotel which was exciting because I know what else lies behind those woods!

3 more sleeps and we'll be at YC!

OH and ps we drove through Celebration FL just to see what it was all about and it is so interesting to see! Very beautiful homes but also very uniform and almost like Edward Scissorhands lol Worth the drive if you have free time on a rainy day!

We hung out in the Poly lobby during our trip in January and genuinely hated how busy it was. Kind of a big turn off for us.
