Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

Is there a free tour of either YC or BC Resort? I have taken the free resort tours at Boardwalk and at Boma/Jiko & Sanaa. I've heard of a free resort tour at Wilderness Lodge, but I haven't gotten the chance to take that one yet. So anyway, I'd love to do something like this at BC/YC. Can anyone lead me to details please?

Rumour had it that Natebenma was in training for the tour job at the BC, but based on her response above I guess there is no tour.

Thanks to both of you! Our actual dates are May 6-10... after part of our party finishes a stay at POFQ. You both pretty much summed up my thoughts about the better view - the refurb itself does not concern me at all - My only thought is better view/cheaper at YC vs. the guarantee of a freshly refurbed room at BC.

Got the dates. Thanks!

Just saw on a DVC news site that The Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show is closing for good on 4/2/16....DH is not going to be happy about this! It's part of the DHS "expansion" project.

Thanks for sharing that. Sorry to hear your DH will miss the show. I am sad that the Earrful Tower is coming down. That has always been my favorite icon at Hollywood Studios from before the hat ever appeared.

:(

Just booked trip to Beach Club in August!!!! Woohoo!!!!party:

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

As always, thanks so much!!! I think I might like the idea of requesting Courtyard view. How much further from Epcot do you think that would be? I'm really not opposed to walking.

If you have a room overlooking the back entrance (lakeside) courtyard, you would be in good shape to get to EPCOT since your room would be near the lobby elevators. If you had one of the other BC Courtyard views, then you will be in the wing in between the lobby and EPCOT and you could use the secret entrance/exit. (See Post 8 or Post 13/14)

:thumbsup2

We'll be staying at Beach Club over Labor Day weekend! We are so excited! :yay: This will be our first time staying in the hotel portion of the property. Usually, we stay at BCV in a studio. We can't wait! :woohoo:

:welcome: back!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list

Do the YC or BC do anything special for Super Bowl? I know ESPN is across the lagoon at BW.

:rainbow::rainbow::rainbow:

Crews Cup lounge will have the game on and it's not a bad spot to watch. It's small enough where you have good viewing access to the TVs from almost every table, booth and bar itself. The lounge off the YC will have the game on as well. Other than that, the only other TVs that may have the game on [non-bars] might be in the BC solarium and the BCV lounge [The Drawing Room] right off the lobby.

Well to add to the rumours I saw the prototype for her dress and I snapped a quick picture:

The hat required an enormous amount of Blonde extensions to keep it in place so the outfit was scrapped in favor of this:

natebenma, thanks for the info on the view and your subsequent reply. I didn't want to quote everything so just thought I'd post a reply. Again, thank you so much!!!

I just looked at the Feb 2015 Activities schedule and I didn't see anything listed about the Superbowl. I agree that the Crews Cup should have the game on and I'm guessing the game will be on in the Solarium like PCFriar80 suggests above.

Is it permitted to consume alcohol in there? Like, can you have a can or bottle of beer, or a drink like a Sunken Treasure in a to-go cup from Hurricane Hanna's. Of course you could always enjoy a "soda" in your refill mug.

Yes, the hat would definitely be the part of the uniform I would have trouble keeping in place.

::yes::

p. 355-356 Going to try to get caught up this morning.

Thank you so much for your review and info. Any chance you have pictures of the view you can post or send to me by email?

I did take some with my tablet. I will try to get them to you in the next few days. It really was a nice location-a little far from the elevator but not too far. Room was in good shape. I had been a little concerned only because we had only had WV rooms before and we do spend time on the balcony, but I was very pleasantly surprised with the fireworks at night.

Dee-would you please remove us from the BOG list for Oct? I hate even typing that! We decided to take a 7 day cruise instead for our anniversary and save our next BC stay until some of the things are done at HS.

We did the anniversary trip to YC in 2014. You will have a great time at F&W! We liked YC but do prefer BC. And yes the scent is stronger at BC than YC, at least any of the times we've been over there.

Going to continue to follow along so I'm all up to date until the next trip (hope maybe to sneak in a long weekend sometime soon!)

Hey All....
Thought I would throw out a random bit of info for BC side of things.
If you search on Youtube the following lines you can hear the lobby music from the BC. Great background while reading this thread!
  • angel's dance billy joe walker Jr.
  • letters from home pat metheny
  • last summer song acoustic alchemy
  • restoration bob james

Awesome info!

If I ever do get that Beach Club tour guide job, maybe you can be my fill-in. You would totally rock the uniform! ;)

Thank you so much for the pictures!!!

As I mentioned to you, this morning I added your pictures and some others to the Beach Club View thread and I finally got around to linking all of the ones recently added to the index on the first page. I also added some new Yacht Club pictures I had in my files to the Yacht Club View thread, but I haven't linked those yet to the index. I will probably do that while I am watching football today. Should be a couple of awesome games!

:cheer2:

Excited to say we will be staying at YC May 25-June 2nd!!!! First time on that side of the world. Can't wait
Any tips??

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1.

You should start by reading Post 13 and Post 14 on Page 1 of this thread if you haven't yet. There are some helpful, interesting and off-beat tips there.

JetBlue extension alert!

On February 7th @ 12:00 p.m (EST), JetBlue will be extending their schedule through October 29, 2016.

I can finally book the flights for our trip followed by watching the home team in the Super Bowl (hopefully)!!

Please can I be taken off the BOG list for May, we've been able to get a Poly stay instead, thought we'd mix it up this year - Still at BC in November :)

Hello gang, I just changed my resort reservation to Yacht Club due to my concerns about construction at WL, we check in on Saturday! Nothing like some last minute reservations. I have stayed at Beach Club before, but only popped over to Yacht for my early morning coffee. I am a big planner and i have no time! I booked a standard view, anything I should put in for requests?

Oh, does the International gateway have a guest relations where I can activate my AP? I want to do that before we head to MK our first morning.
