Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

Just returned from YC. I was happily surprised at the condition of my room, considering the resort is starting a refurb - it was in fantastic shape. If I hadn't known better, I would have assumed it had been redone less than a year ago. I would agree with the boat situation to the Studios if you are going late in the day right now. I would compromise and walk over, then ride back. It didn't feel like the lights themselves were overly crowded, although I did try to time my visits on nights with MVMCP and Fantasmic! both drawing some crowds away. I also didn't like that the bus stop was out at the convention center. Since I am going back in January, I decided not to bother going to AK or MK on this trip and in big part it was due to the move of the bus stop. There's so much holiday stuff going on at Epcot and DHS, especially with extra trips to see the lights, that I didn't really miss it.

Hi, please add us to the list! We are going October 1-8, 2016 and have booked a Standard View room at Beach Club! This is our first deluxe stay and a dream come true to stay at this resort!

Thanks for the very informational thread. I will be following along until our trip!

You will pretty enjoy your trip to the BC that is almost a promise

does anyone know or heard if the Comedy Warehouse holiday Special is coming back this year to HS? This is one of my favorite shows to watch and I can not seem to find anything.

It's listed on the HS schedule, but no details. It's "unclickable" if you know what I mean. You can click on everything else and get a description, but Comedy Warehouse just lists a show time.

In "my itinerary" on my HS days, click the "schedule" button on the upper right side. On Dec 21, the first show is 11:30 and every hour after that, final show at 5:30.

well look at that , that just made my day, couldn't find anything confirming they were bring that show back this year

Hi BC and YC people! We are back from our first stay at this beautiful resort. We loved it for the most part and would stay there again. I have a ton of pictures from the resort and the Christmas decorations.

Good:
Location
Relaxed environment (I always feel it is so chaotic at some other resorts)
Customer Service
The pool
Beautiful room

Bad:
Bus Service (we could not catch a break with MK buses back to BC. At one point we waited 45 mins during the afternoon)
Overflow boat service (EVERYONE on the BW was going to DHS every night it seemed and the boat waits took a long time. If you can walk, I recommend it)
Lack of less expensive restaurants. I don't need a food court per se but a few choices would have been nice.
Joffrey's coffee (my husband said he makes better coffee on his humvee lol)

I would be happy to add pictures or more details if anyone is interested.

When we stay in one of the EPCOT resorts, we have found it MUCH easier and faster to get on the HS boat at the Boardwalk.

It looks like you got the info you need, but I found this on the DIS News and Events tab:

The Comedy Warehouse Improv show was my FAVORITE thing at Pleasure Island!

So sorry folks- I have gotten several pages and days behind on responses.

Just a question that I haven't found the answer to and don't have a lot of time (final exam season :badpc:) But when will the YC CL lounge be open? Have a scheduled trip on the 29th and am curious if it will be open?

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1.

As shoreward mentioned, lounge should be open now. Haven't heard any reports, though.

:goodvibes:

Received the confirmation # today. Crazy, but heading for a conference at Yacht Club, but 1st week of July:crazy2: (July 3-10) That should be interesting crowd wise!

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:thumbsup2

Last minute trip to Yacht Club 12/16-12/19 to squeeze in one last Osborne Lights before the swan song :-(

:welcome: back!

I'll add you to the list.

:cool1:

I have a question I hope someone can answer. Last year in june we stayed at the bc and the whole week they had a volley ball game going on in the pool with a rope across the pool is this something that is always there?

:welcome:

Yes, as MickeyT said, there is always a game, as long as guests are game.

Do you have an upcoming trip planned?

:cool2:

Please add us to the BOG list! Finally booked BC for June 9-15 yay!!!!!! So excited :)

I have a question about our reservation... I hope I didn't make a mistake. We really want to try for a balcony as this is the main reason we used to stay at Yacht Club. I saw an area to request adjoining rooms on the reservation, but didn't see any area to make room requests. Is it too late now, or do I do that later in the check in process? A balcony is pretty much our only preferred request. Thank you! :o)

:welcome: back!

:woohoo:

I'll add you to the list.

As others have indicated, contact Disney reservations now and add the request for a full balcony to your reservation now. You will be able to add it at online checkin 60 days out.

:thumbsup2

Hi, Dee.

Please add us to the guest list. We'll be at the BC from June 18th-June 25th. We'll be celebrating our twins' 10th birthday. We can't wait!

Will do!

Received survey about my recent stay at the Yacht Club. Emphasis was on condition and cleanliness of room and public areas, on-site facilities (especially the spa), any notable experiences...good, bad, otherwise... including Cast Members (hello, Teena), and how visit was paid. A question came up asking if I would continue to visit, even if the credit card I used were no longer accepted.

It was a verry long survey!

I've had the same survey after a YC stay except that it did not include that credit card question. That is an odd question. Maybe they want to stop accepting certain cards. :confused3

Where did you find that because when I searched it , it was not showing up anywhere on Disneys site unless it was newly added or didnt dig deep enough

I had that question on my survey too...maybe they want to make everyone use the Mickey Visa...

As an aside note, The concierge Itinerary planning Department did confirm that texting service for 4th FP+ was available at YC/BC CL. I made a note on the Concierge lounge thread but thought I would repeat it here for those wondering.

Not on Disney site, here on the DIS. When I am on the screen that lists the various trip planning forums (Theme Parks, Resort, Trip Reports), a feed on the right side of the screen has various Disney news stories. This was one of them.

:thumbsup2
