Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

Were you already at the hotel and checked into your room when the cake was delivered. I ask as I wonder if they will deliver a cake to a room has not yet been checked into in case there is a mix up and someone else gets the room (and the cake).
Yes - we arrived Sunday and had the cake delivered on Tuesday.

:welcome: to this thread and posting on the DIS!
Do you have an upcoming trip booked? When?

I have never stayed in a ground level room, either before or after Magic Bands, but I don't think there is a way to lock the patio door from outside the room. Hopefully someone will correct me if I am wrong.

::yes::

:santa:

Not as of yet. Have been many times, and thinking of going back in April again. Wanted to stay a the Y&B again (it's been a long time) because our little kids are now older teens and can hang out together at the pool and the Boardwalk, etc. while my DH and I go to Epcot and do all the things we always want to but the kids didn't. And if the kids decide to join us they can walk right over. Our last stay at Yacht Club there were no magic bands and I just don't remember the patio door, even though we were on the ground floor (by the quiet pool).

View attachment 125978 So, I think the trip to Walmart wins out over Garden Grocer. $3 mark up on Cheetos! I daren't go compare anything else.

We use Garden Grocer. Why? Two words: Beer delivery.

Two 9 packs of Coors Light tall boys: $30 (ish)

Having brewskis in the room so that Dr. Jekyll doesn't have to run down and spend $5 per can in the Marketplace, (and gripe about it): Priceless

My youngest son never attached to anything, but for my oldest son Nate, he was obsessed with Nay Nay Roar, The Fisher-Price Little People lion. He slept with it every night until at least age 4. Probably longer. He used to take it out of the house, but then we no longer allowed him to because he would accidentally leave it. He would lose it in the house and we would tear the place apart looking for it. (The couch cushions were a frequent spot). FP discontinued that version of the lion and I ended up getting a spare from ebay.

He took it in for show and tell when he was in 2nd grade, and lost it. He was distraught and we searched the school and enlisted the custodian to make sure it didn't get swept up. We thankfully found it in one of Nate's mittens the next day.

We still have the original Nay Nay Roar, with rubbed out nose and the new one we got will be a gift to Nate's first child someday in the future.

For the longest time, Nay Nay Roar was my avatar here on the DIS:

Oops. Just bought a new car. I wanted a red one but when I saw the shade is was more of a plum and I was unsure. Anyway, left the garage searching to find me either red, white or silver. Then got a voice message from the salesman saying he had good news. I was like oh crap, I hope he hasn't found a red one! Fortunately it's white. Phew.

And why am I getting a new car? Because it seems a lot of people at work like my blue one so much, they are all buying one. It has to go, as I'm struggling to find it in the parking lot.

We are going to the Beach!!! I just put down the deposit for our trip in Aug 2016, 19-27th. It's been 8 long years since we've seen The Mouse, and my youngest was only an infant. This is going to be a great trip!
Yay. More August Dibbers. I feel a meet coming on.

How is the bus service to the parks from BC? Are you the first picked up? Debating whether or not to switch from AKL to BC and DH has concerns about the bus service and not having a seat. Thanks for the info.

Buses are shared with YC and YC is picked up first. It sounds like others found the busses full, but we didn't have that problem at all.

You could always stay at the YC and get on the bus first. Also, remember you only bus to MK and AK. You walk or boat to EPCOT and HS.

Do the busses share with BW and Swan/Dolphin as well?

Natebenma,
Would you add us to the Be Our Guest List? Thanks!:goodvibes
YC CL April 16-21, 2016. So excited to visit our happy place again! :beach:

We switched from BC standard to YC garden using the RO discount for our Feb stay for PHM and DGS 6th bday. I was totally stressing out about the possiblity of no balcony at BC but now I am better as we have stayed YC garden before. We have 2 rooms and this will be our 4th stay at YC in just the past 2 1/2 years. We love BW area, we stayed at AKL in August and didn't like being so far out and not be able to walk to 3 parks. We usually do not take bus to MK, it is easier for us to walk through EPCOT to monorail.
