What room number is this?

Quiet, but not necessarily a ghost town. We’re here at the BCVs
and I should have been finishing up a 10K right now! The quietest area is the Beach Club main lobby, but it’s still staffed with CMs and Bell Services. All pools are active, along with the Marketplace. Weather has been perfect so far with a cool down coming this weekend. We’re here until next Wednesday, so any specific questions just let me know.
ETA Christmas decorations came down overnight.
Hi we r coming in on 2/6 for 6 nights sounds like the quick service options are low! Beaches & Cream have no availability! Any recommendations u could offer would be appreciated! Ty!

They have some mobile ordering options for Ale and Compass and Marthas Vineyard to supplement the limited QS options. The marketplace has some reasonable offerings for lunch and dinner as well. Hurricane Hannahs during the day can work as well.

Not sure what your park plans are, but Epcot is always a good alternative for QS options. Any other questions just let me know!

YC or BCV? If BCV, studios have fridge, microwave, toaster in the kitchenette (and 1-bedroom and larger have full kitchens) so you might be able to do some meals in the room.

Going back in time- as if any of us wants to re-live 2020, BUT

Does anyone have the Activities/Movie schedule for December 2020?

I just scrolled through all of the December posts and didn't see it and when I went to post January's schedule, I see that December is blank.

The OCDee in me is twitching.

Thanks!

This one is sometimes a debatable topic, and of course there’s no right or wrong when it comes to tipping habits, but I’ll tell you what we do.

You generally interact with two people during a cabana rental. One is a recreation CM - they set up the cabana, check you in, bring the sodas/water for the fridge (stocked pre-COVID, upon request at the moment), bring the fruit tray in the AM and desserts in the afternoon, and will generally check in on your during day. The other is a food/beverage CM - they are the ones taking food/drink orders.

For the food/beverage CM, they will keep a tab open so you can pay and add the tip with your preferred payment method just like if you were at a bar/restaurant.

That leaves the recreation CM. There is no financial transaction that occurs with this person, so if you opt to tip it needs to be cash.

Personally, I tip both CMs. When I’ve said that in the past someone will always be quick to come on here and say “the recreation CM is not a tipped position.” I don’t really know if they are or not, nor do I really care. If you’re going to bring waters all day, keep the fridge stocked, bring fruit and treats, and generally be a host for the day, you’re going to get a tip from us.

Just my two cents on the topic. :goodvibes

I was going to post this as well. Glad I read a little ahead first. We also tipped both the server and the Rec cast member. The first we tipped when we settled our bill, the second as we were leaving and we just handed him the cash as we were leaving. While I’m not sure if the rec CM expected a tip, it was accepted gracefully.

We ate several meals at the counter service restaurants. We had hot sandwiches at YC Marketplace. We had pulled pork sandwiches from BC Marketplace. My husband really like the seasonal soup, which was vegetarian chili when we were there. I had the clam chowder. And we both shared the baked macaroni and cheese. And they have the Bounty platter and Mickey waffles at BC marketplace. It isnt the best selection but it was fine for the few meals that we ate there. :)

Hello all and I know this has been posted before and is most definitely in the intro pages but I have searched and can’t find it.

Could someone post a link to the general manager contact info? I would like to share some thoughts from our October trip. Also, I believe there is a mechanism to post cast recognition somewhere (for some reason I think it was Twitter). Does anyone have info on how to do that? I know it has been a while since we were there but would still like to give two particular cast members a shout out.

Btw, you are good Dee! I casually mentioned we were planning an April and October trip in a response I made to Wood Nymph and low and behold it showed up on the BOG list! Dates are firm for April, we will be there 4/9-4/18 in a BCV 1bedroom.

Did you have a daybed in either of those? thanks!

Just wanted to say

:welcome:

This was the room we had on the far back side close to leisure pool, far from lobby

Do you remember what room number this was? What was the bedding (Queen Beds or King? Daybed or none?

Thanks!

I’m need to make a decision and need some input. Our postponed trip from May, 2020, was rescheduled to May, 2021. We currently have booked a deluxe 2 Queen garden view at Beach Club Resort. However, Beach Club does not reopen until May 30, so we need to either totally change resorts for our May 26-June 3 trip, or do a split stay. Since we will be spending 4 nights at a Universal resort prior to transferring to the Disney portion of our trip, a split stay with another resort move seems like a lot of wasted time changing resorts. We really wanted to stay at Beach Club for some resort time using Stormalong Bay. My dilemma is that my TA called for our options in moving from Beach Club, and was offered a great upgrade to a 2 bedroom lake view villa at Bay Lake Tower for the same price as the deluxe Beach Club room. I’ve never stayed at Contemporary or Bay Lake and though it will be convenient to Magic Kingdom, we lose the ability to walk to Epcot and Studios, plus the fantastic pool at Beach/Yacht. Our boys are 15 and though the extra room and beds plus extra bath will be wonderful, I’m not sure giving up the pool or closeness to Epcot and Studios is worth it. What would you do?

Good luck making your decision. Let us know what you choose.

Just so everyone is aware, the twitter department is not back so any tweets will not get to the cast member or their team.

If you have compliments, it is best to email them and if they are for a cast member at the Yacht or Beach, you can email the GM and she will make sure the cast member is recognized.

We checked in to room 3093 today. Has a great view, similar to one someone else posted/Recommended. I can’t wait to see it tonight! We spent the day at Magic Kingdom, but got through so much so quickly we came back to the resort to warm up and rest before dinner at The Wave. Looking forward to the warmer weather we’re supposed to be getting for a day or two!
