I would guess they try to avoid giving those rooms to families with small kids because there is no bathtub, and little kids havw trouble using showers, so since the pp had teenagers and maybe if you don’t have little kids too that could be why.
The fact that you keep getting a handicap accessible room defies the odds. It seems to me that there must be some sort of code attached to your account with some incorrect information.
But having the sink in the same room as the toilet and shower was very inconvenient.Why not just request a room that is not handicapped accessible?I'll be staying at the Beach Club with DH and DD17 from March 11th to 21st. We've stayed here twice before and each time we've been booked into a room with a handicap accessible bathroom (meaning it's not split - the toilet, bathtub/shower, and sinks are all in the same room). With a teenage daughter, this makes getting ready in the morning quite a challenge! We're praying that this year we finally get assigned a room with the split bathroom configuration - we don't care about balcony size, daybed, or view - we just want the sinks and toilet to be separate, lol! My husband is tired of having to use the resort's public bathrooms in the mornings
I'm going to be submitting a Touring Plans room request and wondered if any of you who have stayed at Beach Club in a Garden view room with a split bath happen to recall specific room numbers to help me try to target my request. TIA!
We've also wondered if we get assigned these "big bathroom" rooms because we're a party of 3? Maybe they figure that a smaller group of people could better share the bathroom? Or maybe it truly just is random bad luck of the draw!
The YC rooms have been recently remodeled and have vinyl flooring instead of carpet. They also added a barn door to the bathroom so that someone standing in the sink area can close the door for privacy. Some of the bathrooms have a walk in shower instead of the tub/shower combo. The beds are on a platform and you can store things, like luggage, under the beds.
Used to happen to me also. I stay BCV and was assigned more than once. Handicap rooms have 2 peep holes. If you see the 2, do not open the door. Go back to the desk and politely request another room. Be firm that it absolutely will not work for your family. I go to Disney to relax, not to be upset or inconvenienced. And before I get scolded here, I am the caregiver for a stroke victim and another with a TBI. Hi! DHS you can either walk (15-20 mins) or take the boat which is fairly regular. Re MK and AK, we usually Uber in the morning as we like to rope drop, but never had a problem with the buses coming back. Epcot is a 2-5 minute walk so no transport available.
Yep. There's even a website for the DL onesI‘m sure I read somewhere that Disney keeps feral cats in its parks (apparently they are well taken care of) in order to keep the vermin down. Perhaps the hotels have the same use too. I remember a few years back staying at the Portofino Bay at Universal and there were feral cats there but unfortunately they had not been neutered but when we returned the following year a staff member staying they had been rehomed. I agree with hoping that Mickey and Minnie are protected
We're regular guests at BWI and I've never taken a bus to/from DS that didn't share with every Epcot resort, BWI/YC/BC/Swan and Dolphin all together.The MK and AK buses share with the YC. The BC is the last stop on the way to the parks. The ride to MK is about 12-15 minutes. The ride to AK is about 15 - 20 minutes, approximately. The MK bus can be very crowded if you are trying to get there at park opening but in general, the buses are pretty good.
I don't know the status of the Disney Springs bus. It used to share only with Yacht Club, but I'm not sure if they have changed the route.
Epcot and DHS only have the boats or walking. You can also take the Skyliner to DHS by going to the International Gateway. It is a fun way to travel but not usually faster than walking or taking the boat.

Yes. Takes about 5 minutes BC lobby to YC lobby. From BC lobby, stay on the "inside" walking past Cape May, out past Beaches and Cream, past Ship Shape Health Club, enter by Yachtsman Steakhouse, past Ale & Compass, to the YC lobby out the front door to bus stop.
The way we handle the MK bus from the BC depot is to see how big the crowd is when we walk up. If the crowd is huge, then we walk to YC. You also need to make sure that you can get to the YC before the next MK bus arrives.

If you want to walk to the YC bus stop after checking the line at the BC bus stop, then you should stay on that side of the resorts and walk in front of the convention center. I think it is quicker.
Most of the time we just wait at the BC because they often send an empty bus right after the full one. If rope drop is super important than plan to be at the bus depot at least 45 minutes early.
The MK bus is usually fine if you are leaving a little later in the morning, like 10 am.
Of course that will only give the time at your resort. So a guest at YC won’t see BC times, and vice versa. So it won’t help for knowing which to go to. Unless you can figure the time difference and know, for example, that YC picks up 5 min before the time shown for BC
