RE: Construction - have been here since 2/14. Each and every day, they have had usually 1 boom lift, at times 2 or 3, with workers replacing/repainting the “log” woodwork, sometime spraying the roof, and have also seen them up on room balconies, grinding metal railings, presumably to prep them for repainting. It seems to be taking a prolonged period of time; likely because there’s only a crew of from 4-8 workers to be seen at any given time.
It’s a loud, working construction zone in the area facing Copper Creek Springs Pool.
The rooms are borderline uninhabitable during the late morning and well into the mid-to-late afternoon, as even with the room doors closed, all you hear is the constant, loud “BEEP BEEP BEEP” of the heavy equipment, and at times, the grinding. I don’t know how the grinding away of paint on railings, to be respirated by the guests below is occupationally healthy or acceptable, but maybe Florida is more lax with that sort of thing.
I get upkeep. I get the need for maintenance. I get that most people aren’t at Disney to be at the hotel.
However, I also get that many non-Disney hotels would not rent out rooms / wings so impacted by such obtrusive conditions. All part of the Disney magic.
Here’s the view we’ve enjoyed from the room for the last few days. Helps prevent our 18 month old from taking his naps. Given how slow they’ve been going, I’d estimate this area will be similar for another week or so.
