Hello! We are so excited to be staying here in March for the first time! We are new DVC members and just recently stayed at the Poly. We have a studio booked for a week. Can someone give me suggestions for room requests? I looked extensively through this thread but it seems at the beginning where the views are posted this is all from the main building? Is there somewhere I can go to look at views from the DVC rooms? I see there are some standard views that are MK views, but are these only in the main building? Would love to have a nice view but also have a shorter walk to the main building and transportation so any recommendations would be appreciated! Oh and our dates are 3/11- 3/19.

Welcome! I'll log your dates:)

This map is from the Boulder Ridge/VWL chapter of this thread. It shows the room numbers and the views. Some of the villas that directly face toward the Bay Lake/woods area on the east side were/are taken out of inventory during the DVC pool/cabin construction.

So you have 4 on the two queens, 2 on the sleeper and 1 in a crib? You sure have maxed out the Deluxe. Just curious if you had priced-out two standard club level rooms? Sometimes that can work out better and it would have two bathrooms and be on the club level floor.

I was thinking the same thing! That's a FULL HOUSE. :-)

Standard views and courtyard views are strictly the domain of the north wing of the main Lodge--they are not associated with DVC suites (the south wing is currently under renovation and will become DVC suites much later this year or early next year). The suites in the classic VWL building (currently the only DVC option at the Wilderness Lodge and renamed Boulder Ridge Villas) largely fall into two categories: lake side or bus stop side. Used to, both sides offered generally the same views: trees. Now that construction is apace on the lake side, there are great views of the lake from that side. . .along with construction views, too. That being said, the noise impact is minimal, and we enjoyed being able to watch the EWP from our balcony each night, as well as some remote views of high explosions from Wishes. The bus stop side is a bit of a misnomer as you can't really hear or see the buses much, and it remains a very quiet and peaceful side to choose. Beyond those two basic choices, you can ask to be near the elevator which reduces your walk to the main Lodge. As for walking to transportation goes, the bus stop sits between the main Lodge and the Villas, so that's a wash. The boat dock (for trips to MK, CR, or FW) are on the north side of the main Lodge, so it remains a nice little hike, though since the entire resort isn't all that big, it's still only about 4-5 minutes. If you do opt to go for a lake side room, I'd ask to be on a higher floor, 3 or above. That would offer you better views of the lake (and construction ;)) for what it's worth. I hope this adequately answers your questions. :thumbsup2

Yes it came out much higher if we booked 2 CL standard views. But that did get me thinking so I priced out 2 standard view rooms and it saved us close to $600. So we might end up changing to 2 standard rooms, now we have some thinking to do.

**Note we are helping cover the cost of our 9 year old cousin so the Deluxe gets split 5 ways. We've been in tight spaces before we can make do. lol

I use touring plans.com because that site has a feature where they show you the views from many of the rooms.

Excited to be heading back to the Lodge the week after Thanksgiving this year! The new OFC looks great so we decided we should come back so we can evaluate new vs old ;). Construction was just beginning when we last visited & we look forward to seeing all the changes around the property.

Does this mean we get your fabulous photos?! I hope so! I would love to adorn the first two pages with them.

I am as always anticipating the picture taking part with great happiness! It's so fun to have something new to look forward to. I'm glad to have almost a week there to soak it all in (and enjoy the cobbler :goodvibes).

I've got a split stay this time, super excited to be going back to the Poly for the first time since the construction started. I'm trying out the DVC rooms, hoping to land in my old favorite location Tokelau.

You'll get to experience a fresh, new lounge:). I (finally) posted @GADisneyDad14's new CL photos to the Club Level chapter. That 40% off is wonderful and thank you for your service!

As far as I know, Jack is still hosting them as scheduled.

Congratulations and I'll log your dates. Will they being staying CL as well?

I did a little interneting and found that they will transfer your bags from your Disney resort to SoG. Just take them to WL Bell Services. If for some reason this is no longer true, you could always just Uber over and leave your bags with SoG Bell Services or leave them at WL and go back later when you want to transfer them yourself to SoG.

Just a reminder, you have full CL access beginning at 6:30 AM your check-in day, when the coffee service begins, (breakfast begins at 7 AM), until 10 PM (when the lounge closes) of your check-out day.

Thank you! I'll look into WL bell services transferring them over for us. I guess I didn't realize CL entailed all of that! I need to do some researching! Thanks again!

Hello! We normally stay at the cabins at FW but will be staying at WL this trip. I was wondering since the distance from our room to the car will be far... as far as loading and unloading luggage-does the WL have luggage carts? If so where are they located? Thank you!

They do have luggage carts at the main entrance; however, I'm not certain they will let you borrow them as they have a very active bell service staff there. Your best bet is to drop off your luggage at bell services and have them bring them up for you. Others might be able to say whether they will let you borrow a luggage cart or not.

They will deliver to the DVC rooms, too?

I have a standard room Club Level booked for June, my only request is for bunk beds as my DS is 2 and DD 15. Never stayed Club level at WL before. Is the standard room allocation for Club level guests allocated the same as a standard room for Non Club Level guests ? Is there a specific floor you are given for Club level even though you have a standard room ? Hope that makes sense !!

I am on touring plans and not sure if it worth selecting a room request to be faxed ?

Thanks

Thank you! I will go the route of using Bell services then, how much would you normally tip them?

I am just starting to research staying at the WL again...is there a thread or a page someone can point me to with updates on the construction? Looking at mid-March or summer timeline. Thanks!

ETA: I'll search around but just thought someone may know right away and save me a bit of time.

I have a logistical question. We will be driving to Wilderness Lodge, and we will have a kid in a stroller. My plan was to get as much in as we can initially, and then send my DH back out for the rest while I keep the kid in the room and start unpacking. It might take him more than one trip out to the car to get everything though. if he goes out and gets some stuff, will bell services hold it for him inside the door so he can go get the rest and have it all brought up together?

Your best bet is to just pull up to the car port & have bell services just bring up what you want...Less hassle that way.. Depending on how many bags or so & items you have, I'd tip them around $10 - $15. It's (IMHO) worth the Non-back & forth for sure....Obviously less if you only have a bag or 2....You be the judge of that....In terms of your Og. Question, I guess it is possible for it to be put aside.:confused3
