Well we couldn't resist. We've switched our reservation from POR to Wilderness Lodge! This will be our first stay and a dream resort for us! Our trip is May 17-24. Excited to have the transportation convenience to MK for the 24 hour event.
Welcome to the thread!

It is hard to resist the lure of the Lodge...congratulations on the ol' resort switcheroo. I'll add your dates to our Lodgers' Log and let us know if you have any questions.

Thanks so much! One quick question, we will be there for the 24 hour MK event. What were the hours of the boat transportation during last years event?

Hi Kook! I too cannot resist the urge to stay at WL.
I currently have a trip booked for a myself and a friend of mine (while DH is back in AFG). I wanted to go on the value side to save money so we are at Pop currently for May 19-26 but the Lodge is just calling my name. Plus, my friend has never stayed at a Deluxe.
I will know within the next few days if we will be changing... (crossing my fingers we will be haha)

Hi all! I'm not sure if I should ask this here or on the CL thread, but thought I'd give this a whirl first.

We are staying CL for the first time:cloud9: over Easter:scared: and I've both called in my room requests and emailed them to IPO. I'm only a smidge anxious about it this time as we usually book the bunk bed rooms and DD will really be disappointed if we don't get them this time around too (she is used to them at home and the small amount of separation helps her sleep). I did list that as my first request with only "near lobby" as my second request. I guess the fact that we check-in 4/2 around 7PM is what makes me worry about getting any requests met due to capacity given the holiday. Anyway, I have not done online check-in as I don't want to screw up any of the requests already in place and also, I'm not sure if it's as necessary with CL? It also wants a departure and arrival time for 4/9 (we check-out on a package and check-in on a room only on this date) and I don't have one, so I wasn't sure what to do there? So, after all my jibber-jabber:rolleyes:, I guess I am mainly looking for input on doing online check-in or not given the circumstances?:thanks:

60 days till we arrive at VWL. Got our fast passes today. DH booked them at midnight. Got every single on we wanted at the times we wanted. :love2:
Yippee! Good work, DH!

I believe someone posted last year that all the transportation was available during the event. Hopefully, someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Sounds great and let us know when the dark deed is done.

No problem at all with your question, but you don't need to be anxious!

You can probably remove "close to lobby" from your request. The lounge literally sits over the lobby and the rooms are to each side of the lobby (picture a U-shape). To get to the lobby, you'll need to take the elevator. There are 3 sets of elevators on the 7th floor: one nearest the lounge and check-in and one at both ends of each wing. No room is really that far from an elevator so I wouldn't bother requesting that since having the bunks is most important to you. There's a map in the CL chapter of the thread to give you an idea of the layout.

It doesn't matter what time you check-in since the Room Assignor will have already assigned your room a few days prior to arrival. But, make sure that the IPO notes in your reservation that you have a "continuing reservation." This means you check-out of one reservation and check-in with another. I once had 3 room-only CL reservations and we didn't have any problems at all. When this is noted, the Room Assignor will do everything to let you remain in the same room. Just remind the OFC CM at check-in that you have a continuing reservation and they can make sure you're in the same room.

OCI room requests are generic and not specific to your booking. You can go ahead and do OCI, but there's really no reason to select any room preferences since you've called in your request for a bunk. OCI room requests won't override called-in requests - the RA sees all requests. OCI will get your credit card info. in the system so that you won't have to show it at check-in. And, even if you were to do the new "straight to your room" check-in, like at CR, with a CL stay, you'll still have to stop in the lobby to have a CM get you up to the CL floor.

I know the options for a good view are limited when booked for a standard view like we are. Would we best served to keep our room request simple such as "quiet room with a pleasant view"? and hope the room assigners can come through for us?

Hi, I've never stayed at WL yet, but will in June. I read somewhere the standard rooms were about 340 sq ft. I believe on all ears.net. I would say it depends on the ages/sizes of your other kids! Look at some pictures of the rooms at the beginning of the board and see if you see a spot the pack in play will seem to work in. Maybe someone that's stayed here can chime in if there is ample room to walk at the end of the beds, or empty wall space, perfect places to set up a pack n play.
Thank you :)

We're wanting to request adjoining rooms- is there a map anywhere that shows where these rooms are located? I know it's not a guarantee, but while we want adjoining, we also would like to be facing the pool so don't want the adjoining room request to override that...if that makes any sense!

Just to be clear, in "Disney-speak" adjoining rooms are next to/close to each other. Connecting rooms are right next to one another and have an interior door connecting the 2 rooms together. I just want you to be asking for the right thing.

There is no map that shows connecting rooms. I would make "facing the pool" your 1st request then "connecting" or "adjoining" your 2nd request. The room assigners know the first listed request is the most important.

You know, I knew that-I always get them confused! :) Yes, we want connecting rooms, if that's not possible then our next choice would be adjoining. We'll just list them in order and hope for the best.

Our last trip many years ago was the perfect location- bears face, overlooking the lobby. But we only needed 1 room back then- our family has grown! :)

Thanks for help!

I'm starting to look into figure out a room request for my stay later this year at WL. I've been using the Touring Plans room view tool to help me out. I'm confused on something though and hoping one of you super knowledgeable WL people may have the answer.

I am booked standard view and searching the tool for standard view/2 queen beds and the search is coming back with 2 standard view rooms on the 7th floor - 7062 & 7064. The rest of the 7th floor is CL. Is that correct, do they have two non-CL standard rooms in the row with all the CL/standard views?

Everything else looks right with that same wing showing me standard view from the 6th floor down. and then 4th floor on the south side of the building.

Whelp...I did it. Changed without a thought. I wanted my typical Courtyard View and when I went to book it as a Passholder, it was gone. So I took a Woods View. I will be keeping an eye open to see if a CV opens up though.
So we need to be added to the Lodger's Log!
May 19-26 :)

I believe it's an error and I have contacted them about it. I also believe their picture of the 2nd floor standard views are in error too. They were showing what appeared to be a courtyard view.

I have found so many errors with their room finder I stopped using it and stopped recommending it to people.

Thanks for the feedback. I figured it must be a mistake and it does make me think that tool may not be the best for figuring our my request.

Actually, the South Wing Standard View rooms are in one of the quietest resort areas. These rooms overlook the bus stop area with the FW woods beyond and to the right is the parking lot.

The North Wing SV rooms have a service area below so sometimes you can hear the beeping of the trucks backing up. But, you can also see some of Wishes from the higher rooms in this location and you have woods view beyond the service area below.

Terrific!

Thanks WDWKOOK! You are most helpful!!:thumbsup2
You're welcome.

As you can see from this CL map of the 7th floor, 7062 and 7064 are CL (Woods View) rooms - all of the 7th floor are CL rooms only.

Yeah, it can be helpful IF you actually know something about the resort before you use it:upsidedow or if you post about it to verify whether it's correct.
