Actually, the South Wing Standard View rooms are in one of the quietest resort areas. These rooms overlook the bus stop area with the FW woods beyond and to the right is the parking lot.

The North Wing SV rooms have a service area below so sometimes you can hear the beeping of the trucks backing up. But, you can also see some of Wishes from the higher rooms in this location and you have woods view beyond the service area below.

That's good to know. The Touringplans site shows the south wing rooms as having more noise. I guess their tool isn't quite ready for prime time.

The bonus of seeing Wishes makes it hard to decide where to request. Will have to ponder. :)

I'm adding some requests to my room reservation. I booked a woods view room. We are spenting at least 2 days at the resort so I would like a balcony with a nice view that is also fairly quiet. I've requested open balcony, upper floor, otter pond view. Now I'm second guessing myself. Anyone have any advice? Thanks in advance!

That request would give you a view towards the Contemporary and would be mostly trees. Those rooms often have a view or partial view of the high MK fireworks. The nicer views come from the courtyard view rooms but they are usually noisier because of both pool noise and people walking past the rooms.

I am looking for some pics of the bunkbed rooms. I am mostly curious as to whether the bunks are big enough for teens, or are they more the size of the murphy bed at POR. Also, I would like to know what area the courtyard view bunbed rooms are located in. Thanks.

Terrific!

You're welcome.

That's fantastic advice, thank you! I'm hoping for a bunk bed room (booked only standard view due to a special agency deal that didn't have bunk bed rooms as part of their deal), and a quiet area if possible. Think I have a shot at that?

This is our grandson in the top bunk. It is really hard to tell from this picture but the bunk beds were the same size as a twin bed. The length of the bunk bed frame is as long as the queen bed. This is a big piece of furniture. This particular room was a courtyard view room, room 3113 to be exact, with a view of the upper stream, inner courtyard. But the bunkbed rooms are scattered throughout the resort, so you won't be limited to one particular area if you choose this category.

Is there more room in a bunk bed room? If that makes sense at all. If the bunks are twins I pictire there being more room to walk around.

Yes, there is more open floor space in a bunkbed room then in a regular room with two queen beds. There is space between the wall and the bunk bed and space between the bunkbed and the queen.

Yay! I kept checking all day yesterday and nothing, and then about an hour ago, Boom! Courtyard View opened up! I love my CV room... I don't mind the noise from the pool, I love the views and being able to see EWP :)

Making room location requests -

When I made our room reservation there was no location to write any requests. There was a screen talking about requests I think and a drop down window that I think only had like wc accessible choice but nothing else worked. Was that screen not working or when do you make room requests? I can't seem to alter my ressie in MDE. Or do I just wait til close to the trip and call the resort? Thanks!

You can call resort reservations to have them add your requests to your reservation. That is the best way to get your specific requests added. There are some options with online check in, too, but those options are very limited.

Howdy!!!

I just booked a return visit to WL today. We stayed in a bunk bed room there in November 2012 for my son's first trip. It was my husband and myself, my then 3 year old son and my then 16 year old daughter. This trip will be a mother/son trip which I am so excited about. We are booked in standard view room from August 24th-28th. Kook and posters here were such a huge help last time. I'm so glad to be heading back "home".

Our son slept in the top bunk at 13 and we heard no complaints. (And he sleeps in a double at home!) Our 3 year old slept on the bottom. They are the size of a twin bed.

I just booked a return visit for late Sept with my husband and son. I'm so excited. I'm banking on an AP discount- do they discount the standard view rooms or should I switch my room into a courtyard or woods view. We last stayed here when I was pregnant. My son will be a little over 2 when we return. :) I feel like I had another question but cannot recall what it was at this point.

Thanks a bunch for the pictures and info.

So excited to be heading back to WL Aug 21-28th after staying at BC and YC the last 2 years. Thanks to
bounce back offer Free Dining for us.

So are there standard view rooms that have bunks? We would like to have one, but I know it's not a bookable category with standard view! Is it something people can request and hope to get? Thanks :)

I'm looking forward to returning to WL in May! My husband, daughter and I will be there 5/20 - 5/24. My first and only stay there was 10 years ago when our kids were 12 and 14. We had a bunk bed room which worked out great at the time for the extra available space in the room.
