Congrats on your newest arrival!

Thanks, blackdogg!

You have a brand new Lil' Lodger?! Congratulations! I hope he's sleepin' like a baby and looking at plenty of WL photos;). WL will be perfect for his first visit, but maybe not the bunk bed yet:scratchin
Thanks guys... he is snoozing quite well! Definitely ready for this cold weather to go away though--- where is spring?!?

I'm currently booked at WL CL ffrom 9/30-10/4. Has anyone heard that the pool will be closed then?

Where have you seen that the pool will be closed? First I've seen of it... esp since it was just closed for so long :worried:

So, I can't for the life of me remember where I saw it?!? I've been super sick so maybe it was an illness fueled delusion. I thought I saw a message from Disney to me, but now I can't figure it out. :rolleyes1

The bus to Epcot generally takes a little over 20 minutes total, including the stop to pick up at FW. It is usually the quickest way to get there, but we found it to be more fun to catch the boat to CR, then Monorail to TTC and monorail to Epcot. This took longer, but was fun and we got to stop at CR on the way. On the way back to WL the bus was also shared with FW, but WL was the first stop.

Compared to staying at an Epcot resort these options both get you to the front side of Epcot, so another option is to take the Bus to HS and then walk or take the boat to the International Gateway side of Epcot. Again it isn't as fast, but can be fun if you want to explore along the way.

This is a great way to enjoy WDW transport............in 2013 while staying at the YC we walked through Epcot (had to have the hopper to do this) to the Monorail to the TTC then on to the Poly for the Aloha Show! Fast it wasn't but that wasn't the point pixiedust:

It's all about the doing different things!

Doug :goofy:

15 more days until checkin at the Wilderness Lodge! I am excited to escape the cold & snow. Anyone just back from WL have any new pictures to post? I need a fix - lol...

Jumping back on the bandwagon for updates :) New thread looks fab! Thanks so much Kook!!! Yes - ITA, I truly enjoy any pictures people are willing to post so I too can get my WL "fix" (its one reason I stalk this thread, pictures and reading the posts here!)

You've got to remember more than half the country is in a deep freeze, and deep snow! Pictures of sunshine and joy much appreciated!

Very sad to report we made a resort change today. We switched to a family suite at AoA. It didn't save us as much as a switch to CBR, but it'll pay for the extras we might do, or for our Wine and Dine registration. Decided we had to scale back a bit since we are adding another trip this year. (Although we hope that will be just DH and I.) Sad we won't be at the lodge, but we know the kids love AoA so it will still be a magical trip!

Maybe you saw a post from/concerning the closing from last fall? (The Silver Creek Springs pool at Disney's Wilderness Lodge is scheduled to be closed Wednesday, September 3 through Thursday, November 27, 2014, for general refurbishment and maintenance.--- per previous posting) I know this past refurb on the pool has taken awhile & I'm pretty sure the villa pool had a bit of work just prior to the main pool. Let's hope that's it! I don't see anything listed so far as the pool being closed for our dates :confused3

:thanks: We're pretty excited... he has 2 very well seasoned older sisters ready to show him what's up with all things Disney :earboy2: lucky guy! plus he's #3 which means we're pretty laid back this time :thumbsup2

I'm not going to lie - I think every mom needs a ten year old around! ;) My #3 is a girl, her older brothers... now 29 and 27, she's 17 now! and yes, we are still pretty laid back! But so is she, in comparison so the boys! Its an amazing time to be sure!

Just got back from another wonderful stay at the lodge on Saturday. This time we stayed in the villas vice the main resort. I was a little concerned that at the villas wouldn't have the specialness that we love so much about the lodge, but the magic was all there. The villas lobby is absolutely beautiful and it was just as peaceful as the lodge. Missed the lake view and was stuck with a bus stop view instead, but to be in the serenity of the lodge the beeping of the busses could be ignored.

We had lots of magic band issues, but I won't blame my beloved lodge for that. Also got to eat at Artist Point and Whispering Canyon and enjoyed both.

Thanks to kook and everyone on the threads for all the lodge info and especially intel on where do get my beloved vino ; )
Thanks for posting about your VWL stay and I hope you get to book another trip soon:)

The WL feature pool and new splash pad area re-opened in December 2014 after a long rehab. No plans that I know of now to close it again.

Just a few more days! I'm so excited!!
:yay:

It won't be long now!

Does anyone have pics or posted pics in the past of the new kiddie pool?
Just want to make sure you find Circusgirl's great pool/splash pad photos, it's actually POST 19.

Yup. Check out the pool/beach post, post #18, of this thread. :thumbsup2
Thanks, dansdad:)

Adding another trip is worth the sacrifice and you'll have a nice, big suite with two bathrooms. WL will be there for a future stay:)

I think it has been a few months since I have had time to even look at the boards....things sure have changed. Love seeing everyone having a good time at the Lodge. I look out my window at our snow mounds everywhere and really do wish we were "home" at the Lodge right now.

Kook, if you would not mind changing our reservation info when you get a chance. We have opted to skip club level this year (yes, I am still trying to come to grips with that decision) and we are going to a 1 bedroom in the Villas. (The idea of a washer/dryer reallllly helped sway me).

I am going to now go back and try to catch up on all these posts!

image.jpg Sometimes I just take pictures of familiar sites, not because they will be great photos, but because in my mind I can imagine myself walking past them, hearing the sounds, smelling the smells, and almost taking them for granted, because for a short time they are home.image.jpg

Hi guys! Just switched my reservation from POFQ to WL for April. So excited to be coming back!!!! I am bursting with excitement.

bluecastle, LOVE those photos for the exact reason you mentioned - thanks for sharing with us!

bubblytrip, yay!! POFQ is very nice for a mod, but how exciting to upgrade to WL - even better!!! Bet your 6-year-old will love the new splash pad - our 8-year-old is very excited about it!

I love pictures like these. Since our first stay at WL is coming up in 27 days, I like having a little preview of what we will see!
