Disney's WILDERNESS LODGE Information & Questions

OK, guys. The hubs agreed to a last minute trip in mid-October. I usually plan way farther out, so I am feeling stressed. Take pity on me, lol. Right now we are booked at Yacht Club Club Level from 10-16-10/22. I'm just not feeling it for this trip. We have a lot of MK stuff planned (MNSSHP) plus we are wanting to do HDDMR and the new Headless Horseman event at the campground, so I feel like WL will be more central. I've skimmed the first few posts and the last few posts (I'm in a time crunch to re-book, so again, please take pity on me haha!). It sound like most of the construction will be done by mid-October, correct? And for sure, the OFC is completed, right? So if the answer to both questions is yes, which would you pick (there are only 4 of us this trip...my oldest will be going on a class trip during that time):

1) Club Level Standard room
2) Copper Creek Deluxe Studio

The difference in cost is that the Club Level room is about $1,000 more that CCV. We can swing either, but booking CCV would make me feel much less guilty for all the add-ons that I want to do. :D Thoughts?

Yes, the new OFC lounge opened late November. We stayed CL there right after Thanksgiving, it's a beautiful space! One of the best CL lounges out there, IMHO. CL food tends to change over time between lounges, but I rate it #1 for quality/variety of any of my recent CL travels. I posted a bunch of pics from my trip over on the CL thread, I can find the links if needed.

And yes, CL is always worth it! :rolleyes1

If you book a cooper creek studio, 2 of your 4 will be sleeping on a pull out sofa, something I never could justify that cost for my kids not getting to sleeping on a bed (call me crazy). So.... We have always opted for Club Level and requested, and always lucky enough to have received bunk beds and have been very happy. If'your kids are of the pre teen / teen age, we have found CL to be an added benefit.

Good luck deciding! :)

You are using Disney math. ;)

A club level room at WL will cost less than your club level room at the YC. So switching to WL will save you money whether or not you book CCV studio. ;)

We have stayed at WL in October when we had MNSSHP tickets and loved having the boat to go back and forth between MK and the resort. And it is a lot easier to get to Fort Wilderness from the WL, too.

We have found it easy to go back and forth for Epcot. YC is really nice but in your situation I would choose WL or CCV.

Congratulations! Yes by October all construction should be wrapped up, even with potential delays. OFC is open now in its new location, and the CCV villas are scheduled to open July 17th.

As for which way to go, we would save the $1000 and go CCV. We used to dislike villas because they aren't in the main building, but CCV solves that issue. We have never spent the $$$ for Club Level though, so we might not be the best ones to recommend against it. Either way, WL would be a great place to stay.
Thank you!! I agree with the appeal of CCV being in the main building. Much better that way!

Ooh! Yes, I'd love the link to your pics if you have them handy. Thank you!!! ☺️

That's a good point. Mine are still little (and bendable, lol), so the pull out wouldn't be too awful for them. However, I'm sure they would love bunk beds. I didn't know that you can request that for CL rooms! Thank you!!!

I totally love the way you think. Using this logic on the hubs when he gets mad at me for wanting to book 2 dessert parties, 2 MNSSHPs, HDDMR, and the Headless Horseman thing. "But, babe!!! We saved money by switching to WL from YC, so we're still technically ahead!"

Good to hear about the convenience...that's why I'm definitely leaning this way. Thanks so much!!!

The boat to MK starts 30 minutes before the park opens and runs for an hour after park close. There is a second boat that travels between WL, Fort Wilderness and the Contemporary. Both boats tend to be 20 minutes apart.
I know one those is the blue flag boat and one the red, correct? But I'm not sure which is which. One of them is smaller than the other, yes? One can wheel a stroller onto the bigger boat, but not the smaller, where it would need to be folded up? TIA

43 days to go and I'm ready. The more I read about Wilderness Lodge and the more videos I view the more excited I get. Looks absolutely beautiful.
We are basically at 44 days since this day is almost over! And I feel the same way as you!

I can never remember the flag colors. ;) The MK - WL route uses both the small motor launches and the larger boats. They alternate. If a small motor launch pulls up to the dock then you would have to fold up your stroller. If the larger boat pulls up then you can roll the stroller on without folding it. The WL - CR - FW route only uses the small boats, I think, or at least I've never seen one of the larger boats on that route.

Considering a 2 night stay in a studio here for july and wondering if constitution is completely done?? This resort has never been on my list to try but kids are wanting to try it!

Ah, thank you so much for the info! So if the LO is sleeping in the stroller, we might could just wait for the next boat, if we have the time to wait.

We got checked in. Got a text that our room was ready on the ME, about 12. Not the greatest room but glad it was ready early.

We've grabbed lunch at Geyser Point. It's even better than advertised. Love it. They are setting up for a media photo event now so they are sprucing the place up
whats good to eat at geyser point? We are thinking of heading there for a cs meal! Staying at akl and going to visit wl for a sneak peak for 2018

My husband really liked the Bison burger that they serve at the counter service restaurant. Outside of breakfast, that was the only food we had at the cs.

We added a day to our upcoming trip! We will be staying November 12-November 18 now but no club level anymore.

I'm just ready to be back a the lodge!

Quick question... what time to be at the bus top to MK for rope drop? With the changes in security and early Main Street admission I'm not quite sure what to plan. Going in early June and starting to put together the daily itineraries now.
