Does anyone know when the Mardi Gras float parade is this year? From Andre's site, it look like it would be so much fun to see!

Just booked a mom's trip to WDW staying at POFQ! This is our first trip here as we've stayed at Pop both other times. We've set out our pins for our magicbands (2 different pins) and I was wondering if we will be able to keep our spendings separate? This will be both of ours first trip with the magicbands. Not sure you can teach OLD dogs new tricks! Our technology savvy children are staying at home!!!!!! Wish us LUCK!

We have a late afternoon flight and won't be arriving at POFQ until approximately 10 p.m. Can we request bell services deliver our checked bags early the next morning or can we pick them up there? AK opens at 8 so we will be wanting to get an early start our first morning and don't want to wait for our luggage to arrive at our room. Or would it be better for us just to collect our checked bags ourselves at the airport and bring them on the ME bus? TIA.

If it was me, I'd collect my bags myself. Only because it saves worrying about making sure I have all the clothes and extra bits I need the first night, and all day at AK.

I've used DME twice before and they dropped our bags off for us (we arrived at MCO in the afternoon), but when we go this year we're going to collect our bags ourselves as our children are little and it means we'll have all of our stuff with us as soon aa we get there.

At 10pm, to save the hassle, I think I'd just collect my bags and take them with me on the DME coach. It's not that much of a hardship, and takes the guesswork out of everything. You can still get Bell Services to transport them to your room by the way to save you carrying them all across the resort, but they will do so while you are there rather than as-and-when it happens.

It'll be on Mardi Gras Day (Fat Tuesday), whenever that falls this year (it's the day before Ash Wednesday/lent; Google says that makes it 4th March this year as Easter is very late)

When I downloeded the app on my computer I was given a page to set up a pin for each of us. We both gave a different pin number in case we could keep our purchases separate. Now I'm wondering if we can.

Thanks. I love it when our luggage "magically" appears in our room and we don't have to mess with baggage claim and lugging everything onto the bus, but it's just not going to work that way this trip.

Interesting. Mine hasn't given me that option and I don't see it. Not something I'm too worried about, but I didn't know you could pre-select your pin before arrival. In fact, I had been under the impression that assigning a pin to your band is mandatory (at least for adult bands) (??) Curious. Much.

What section was it under? Or did it just pop up in the set up process?

I've been reading about the tour groups, especially the Brazilian tour groups, that visit during the month of July. Do they traditionally stay at POFQ? I'm hearing horror stories and hoping to avoid them at the resort.

I saw on that thread that there were groups at POR. Not sure about POFQ, but I thought it was listed also.

I would imagine just the sheer number of groups around they will be at all hotels, given that POFQ is so small, it may be more difficult for a lot of groups to get in there.

We stayed at All Star Movies in July 2006 and the Brazilian tour groups were there. My guess is they go to larger value resorts as opposed to moderates or deluxe.

We saw a group of what looked like a large group of girls were checking in when we were checking out. So groups do book there. It was about 50 of them and they weren't speaking english and they all had matching shirts.

But when we saw the groups in the parks throughout the week they never bothered us. They were not loud they did not cut in line. We didn't see any behavior that people report in their horror story reports.

We did see cheer groups in the park our last day and they were loud and running around tho.

It's like a large golf cart lol for a lack of better term. It probably holds about 9 people. And they were always out. I don't think you would have to wait very long for one.

We are planning to do Rope drop at MK at 9am also. If we get the bus at around 8:20am, does that bus need to loop to Riverside, or does it go straight to MK?

Um I know some people said you go straight to park but a very time last week when we got the early bus at 8am we did stop at POR before heading to park. I think it happened twice in the morning and a few more time in the afternoon. Just so you know. It didn't take more than 10 mins to do the POR loop. So even at 8am bus we would be at park by 820.

Did you want to pay for your purchases separately? The front desk can attach someone's magic band to separate folio and card. The Beach Club did this for my mom, and none of her charges showed up on our check receipt. My husband and I had different pins, but both of our magic bands were linked to the same account and we could not tell which band had been used to make which purchases.

Just realized that 3 weeks from today right around now (10:30am) we'll be arriving at POFQ!!! I'm sooooooo excited and just realized I have so much to do and prepare for!

The weather is so unpredictable in February that I can't really decide what to bring until we get closer to the 10 day forecast.

Mmmm now I do t remember which parks I was going to. There a good chance they weren't MK buses when we went over. Sorry didn't realize OP asked specifically about MK park buses.
