I'll be staying at FQ in two weeks. I have a river view room. I was last there in March and had a river view room in building six. We really liked the room and view we had. I would love a room near that same location for my upcoming trip. I have never faxed a request in all of my many stays at Disney resorts. I'm really tempted to this time though but I don't want to be a bother to anyone. So I'm wondering - do you think the room assigners get annoyed when guests fax these type of requests?

Over the years I have had the chance to talk to a couple room assigners. All 3 stated that they enjoy being able to fulfill guests requests, it really makes their day. So no, they don't get annoyed.

we did ours a week to two weeks in advance. also we did it when we did online check in. they normally honor requests. we always get the same building (building 4) and we always ask for ground floor for my dads knees and closest to the food court and 90% of the time we go we have gotten very close to where we wanted. we even have a room we like and have put that number down and have gotten that room a few times. love staying there.

Make sure to thank the folks at the front desk when they tell you your request was granted. It really does make their day. Tell concierge too. Appreciation breeds the will to do more and better.

Actually, Andre recommends 3-5 days before check-in, so you could wait another week.

JamiLeigh, Did your TA tell you to not to fax in either? I did online check-in my last trip (requested upper floor and something else i can't remember) and also faxed in my requests. So getting a room early wasn't a priority like most guests? IDK.

No reason not to, online checkin does not erase existing text requests from your reservation. And you can still fax 3-5 days before arrival if you want.

She told me she would do the request. Maybe we can do all three just as a back up

We will be there in October, our check in dates qualified for FD but obviously POFQ did not so I have no idea what that will mean for how busy it will be.

This may have already been posted. The parking lot outside building 4 will be closed May 31-June 5 for repaving.

I can say that I have had great results when faxing our Bldg/floor/room requests at both POR and POFQ.
