Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

1. Yes. Property-wide policy and times.
2. Interesting. They're able to fit five resorts' worth of guests in just into 1,440 rooms?I
3. Also interesting. Some guests will not be able to get to these parks when the weather is beautiful? No more hourly buses?
4. Also interesting. As indicated above, this apparently completely locks out guests without smartphones.
5 & 6. Okay.
7. Yeah, they've never been supposed to be able to touch guests' stuff, or had any reason to.

Haven't been to Pop recently. I called in, and the info isn't always absolutely right but this is what CM said:
1. Pop Century pools open 11am-9pm, have to wear your mask except when swimming or drying off.
2. 50's and 60's bldgs are the only ones open right now.
3. Buses to HS and EP not available unless skyliner is not operating.
4. Mobile order is a must. The 1 open register is for paying by cash, after you mobile order, not to circumvent mobile order. You can still go into Everything Pop and peruse and then mobile order. Sit in is available but limited. Some of the options are closed off, including the ice cream station, and the pop station, as we knew.
5. Still holding your bag for check in and checkout days for going to the park.
6. Skyliner is still running beginning 9am for HS and 10:30 for EP, or just before as people are finding, even though they've been letting guests in around 9-915 to HS and 10:15 for EP. CM said they review skyliner hrs every week, and maybe it will change soon.
7. While you can opt of housekeeping, they will go into your room to check around, as mentioned. Even if you open your blinds ea. am, they will go into your room. But are not supposed to actively touch everything.

My room was in the 70’s last week, so those are open as well.
So if you're trying to request at check in, there probably really won't be a bad room in terms of location, but 60s is probably still the best since close to skyliner and the hall/buses? Or a building in 50s 70s that is somewhat close to Classic Hall.

PP mentioned that 70's bldgs were actually open. I was really hoping for the hourly buses, if nothing else, to reduce the flow to the skyliners. But I prefer to try to get to the parks a little earlier without having to uber/lyft, which we never use. But I guess some people were ok using the skyliner to HS and still able to get a 10am BG.

Yup. But I posted immediately after reading the quoted thread. :). Plus OP's response further demonstrates my unstated point that CM information isn't necessarily accurate.
Agreed, CM info is about 75% correct, and never when it comes to early bus arrival schedules. I usually try to ask about 4 warm up dumb questions I don't really care about to try to get that wrong answer out of the way before I ask an important one.

Thanks, after posting this, I thought about this and sort of concluded there was no way mobile order was going to charge back to room. I figured mobile order was encouraged at the parks but didn't realize that you pretty much can't regular order. I'm not sure there is really any need to setup to charge MB to your room, in that case. We will just combine GCs into one over $500 for meals and put that in, and hopefully that saves for future use.

Is there no way to request free ice waters via mobile order via a comment box or something? I suspect not, and that now there are separate lines for food pickup and drink pickup, you have to go to the drink pick up to request it after you get your food. We used to ask for the drinks when picking up mobile orders.

The one mobile order I did, which was in park, I got my food and drink together. Perhaps the separate lines are when refillable mugs are used? I did not see an option on the mobile order menu for just ice water though, only bottled water. I don’t know if it saves the gift card info. I will find that out next month, if no one reports back before then. I brought bottled water with me to have in the room, and started the park day with one of those to help save money. I am a little leery of using the bottle fillers in the park after someone reported seeing a person licking one of them . So I just bought bottled water in the park as needed. Of course, they are continually reviewing their policies and procedures, so what I experienced last week might not be what someone experiences next week.

I used my MB for souvenir shopping as my no contact form of payment, so it is still useful for that, if you are accustomed to having everything on the hotel bill for one payment.

Is AoA lit up at night just like it would be if it were open?

If so,can Guests walk over from POP and take pictures in CARS,etc.?

So the lines sound pretty long for pop for skyliner now (although they move relatively quickly). I am a bit worried about them when AoA and CBR open and the line will be about twice as long at the Pop/AoA station and then extra long at the switch at CBR. Does anyone else think that will be an issue getting to studios?

I wish they has some buses going as well. I guess the only thing to do would be to make sure you get in line super early.

For those who have ridden the Skyliner, are they spacing people out in the cabins and leaving some empty? I understand each group gets their own but aside from that, are some purposely being left empty?

Did it seem like they got that close to each other? Or do you mean for spacing for disembarking?

Good point. July 29 CBR, Aug 12 AoA are back on line. I’d hope they’d change the 9 and 10:30 am start times for earlier. If they don’t, I guess we may have to ride share.

I’m asking if they are leaving some of the gondolas empty or if they are using every single one?

One person experienced a challenge last week (unfortunate for sure) but since that one report it seems people are afraid to take the Skyliner to DHS when hoping to arrive before 10am.

I believe a lot more people are successfully using the Skyliner to go to DHS and arriving in time to try to secure a BG.

Unless they are purposely leaving some of the cabins open for safety reasons, I believe using the Skyliner to go to DHS from Pop (and AoA when it opens) Should still be considered a reliable source if transportation as long as guests leave ample time to go through the lines and get into the park. The Skyliner opens a full hour before DHS does which is plenty of time barring unforeseen breakdowns which don’t appear to be common.

Anybody know what time we should get to the bus stop if we want to get to Magic Kingdom before opening? I was thinking around 7:30??

Last week buses didn’t start until 45 minutes before park opening. Both of the days I went to MK last week I got to the bus stop between 8 and 8:15 and had no problem making it to the park before/by opening. The resort did seem to be getting busier though by the time I checked out so idk if the lines are starting earlier now.

We got to the bus stop yesterday at 7:45 and made it on to the second bus. The first bus didn't show up until 8:05, and by then, the MK bus line was all the way back to the AK stop!

Arrived at MK around 8:30 and while the published opening was 9am, the park was open and we walked right in! Note: Every park we've been to so far has been open by the time we get there. DHS was open at 9:40 when we arrived by skyliner(got skunked all day for RotR), and Epcot was open at 10:40 at International gateway.
