For those there was wondering if you booked a standard view and requested the 50’s section are you pretty much getting your request? With the other values being closed I was wondering if any request was being honored

I requested 50's upper floor and I got 50's ground floor. It worked out fine being on ground floor, though. While we were there I think the 80's and 90's sections weren't being used.

So there is not daily housekeeping ? and you cannot opt out of housekeeping?
I don't believe there is daily housekeeping but I'm not sure how it's being handled.

Yes, you may opt out of housekeeping but a gift card is no longer being offered. Also, even though you opt out, someone will still access your room each day. They may just look in or, they may enter your room to exchange towels and possibly refill coffee supplies.

In the past I've called to have these replenished but I'm not sure during these days exactly how they're being handled, just that each room is viewed each day. This is part of the security policy that was put in place in Jan 2018/2019(?) I believe.

They usually replenish coffee and supplies daily. Do you know how they are handling this now since there isn't daily housekeeping?

I think our room hadn't been used since March. We checked in on July 15. Our room had the regular amount of towels and only paper coffee cups and two packets of coffee and a few plastic cups (watch out, they tend to split lengthwise). We had three adults plus one child which is what we paid for (extra adult) so we were kind of surprised to have so few cups and coffee).

We called for more coffee and towels and Mousekeeping came with some towels but no coffee. We told her we also needed more coffee and she came back with a baggie that was probably pre-filled. It had the regular condiment assortment for the start of a regular stay so we got two more coffee pods each of regular and decaf plus sugar, sweet and low, stirrers, and creamers. She never came in our room. We tipped her a five because we figure they aren't making as much in tips these days.

We'd signed up for the every other day towel removal and replacement thing so we got some more coffee on that day. Happily I'd brought some paper coffee cups from home and we just split the coffees and each had a half cup each morning.

From the Disney website:

Housekeeping
Prior to your arrival, your room will undergo thorough cleaning—with attention to:
  • High-touch areas, like TV remotes and door handles
  • Housekeeping tools will be cleaned between rooms
  • Floors, which will be steam cleaned and vacuumed between Guests
Inside your room, you’ll find:
  • Individually wrapped glassware
  • Double-cased pillows
  • Additional items that have been cleaned and wrapped in single-use packaging
And during your stay, your room will receive a light cleaning service every other day, which will include:
  • Removal of trash and used towels
  • Replenishment of towels and amenities throughout the room and bathroom
  • Wiping and cleaning of the vanity and counter surfaces
  • Vacuuming if needed
You can also decline every-other-day service.

That kind of stinks, so you can't actually walk around and look at anything to see what you might want?
Nope. I wish mobile order would let you charge back to the room, so I would only have one transaction instead of multiple ones to reconcile when the cc bill comes. I miss using my MB to pay for that reason. I will be getting a gift card to use for mobile order on my next trip. I ended up eating breakfast in the room and a TS meal about 3pm and then just having snacks later in the room instead of using mobile order.

We weren’t staying at Pop, but we “Popped” over because my kids usually like some of the menu items. I found the whole dining area to be kind of a bummer. Deserted and sad feeling. Usually the bustle feels energizing. It was the one place where the sparse crowds made us feel bad.

After watching Adam's video of Pop Century,I got that "sad feeling" about the whole Resort and I didn't feel quite so bad about having to cancel our trip.

I couldn't agree more that Everything Pop without Guests everywhere must be so "NOT Groovy" and so "NOT Far Out"! :)

Any other July 22,The 15s would be strolling over from the 1980s and 1990s to Everything Pop and and I can guarantee you there would be BUSTLE ON STERIODS in there!lol:)

This is really going to be an unusual adventure, isn't it? So many changes.

Does anyone have experience taking the skyliner from Pop to HS and getting through the tapstiles before 10:00 am? I'm trying to figure out what time we should plan to get to the skyliner station. I understand it opens at 9am, but I'm curious if we would need to get in line slightly before 9am to ensure we arrive at HS before opening.

When we used the skyliner from Pop to HS back in December. Hardly anyone used it and the trip was always super quick. I have a feeling this trip might be a bit different, however.

Skyliner update: we got in the line at 9:15 again today & are still waiting at the transfer station. We won’t make it to the park for opening at this rate. I don’t know how people say they get in line at 9:30 and make it! Also, DHS doesn’t have the new scanners so you still have to do metal detector/bag check.

The quote above is from earlier this week. While what happened to @MusicalAstronaut may not be the norm, delays can happen.

If it were me and I wanted to try to secure a boarding group, I would probably be in line for the Skyliner around 8:50 just to be on the safe side.

That was my initial thought, too. Just get in line a few minutes early to ensure I have plenty of time to get over there. I'm surprised not to see more reports, but I guess a lot of people won't report when things are business as usual.

I'm all set to arrive at POP tomorrow for a Friday-Monday stay. Just received an email that my magic bands "shipped" today and are waiting at a USPS facility. I think Disney may have dropped the ball on that one a bit. No way I receive these before our trip so I was told that I have to go to the front desk and they can give us magic bands. I guess we don't get to do the whole straight to the door check-in process. :)

Also reports are,if they get the all clear, they start Skyliner a little BEFORE 9:00 AM.

You should be able to use the MDE app on your phone to open your room door if you want to go there first. Just another option if your room is ready.

That is my plan. Without park hopping I only have one day at DHS so I'd rather get there too early than too late. On my DHS day I plan to make some coffee and head over to the station about 8:30. My DHS day is my forth day in so I'll have three mornings to check out the line.

We had definitely planned to get to the Skyliner earlier than 9:15 - what we didn't anticipate was how much trouble it would be to get breakfast at the Pop food court. You can't go in without having placed a mobile order, and the app had a ton of issues while we were there. We couldn't place a mobile order. We constantly kept getting an error message when we tried to pay. We tried apple pay, using a new card, restarting phones, and deleting & downloading the app. My sister was determined to eat a Mickey waffle. Eventually she got her phone to work, and then it wouldn't let us pick the current time as the arrival window, we had to choose one about 15 minutes from then. So it took about 45 minutes vs the 20 we thought it would take it. TLDR: leave EXTRA time for the food court if you decide to eat there, or try to order before leaving your room. That way if it's giving you issues you know to grab something & just go to the skyliner (or to abandon your sister and leave without her :rotfl: ).

Thanks for the info @MusicalAstronaut. We don't normally bring food with us other than snacks but I think this trip we'll pack bagels and box of cereal to help ease some of the challenges people are experiencing with the food court in the AM.
