Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

We’re also there during Labor Wknd. What days at HS are full? I’m surprised resort guest days are full for that wknd. We were actually thinking of swapping some days around by making eliminating our 2nd HS day. Good point about AoA guests getting relocated to Pop. I think they already upgraded some All star folks there. With 80s and 90s not occupied right now, they could open more bldgs and make it more congested for transportation, dining, pools.

We just booked Pop for Labor Day weekend. I was hoping for HS on that Sunday 9/6, but that is the one day it is unavailable for resort guests right now. It is not available for AP either, only regular ticket holders.

Has anyone had grocery delivery lately or have it scheduled at the Pop? I have ordered through Garden Grocer in the past and had a good experience but I would like to try ordering delivery direct through Publix, the prices and selection is better. So I'm wondering if anyone had any recent experience with Publix especially. Thanks for any info.
We used instacart for delivery up untill this last spring I changed to walmart. Walmart had better prices and shows up on time.. Instacart took forever... we also have used Amazon prime but talk about no selection...

We used Amazon Prime Now for our stay last week and it was fine. We picked it up from bell services.
You can't go in the cafeteria area (you can ask to go in the gift shop area), until your order is showing as ready for pick up so the lobby does get congested with people waiting. Once your order shows ready, you can go to the cast member at the entrance and show them and they'll direct you to the next person if there is a line inside, or you can just go up to the appropriate counter to pick up your order. You won't have any access to the drinks so a cast member pours everything and we found this to be pretty slow. You can pick up napkins, utensils, and packaged condiments yourself. Tables are marked off to help with spacing but since everything is packaged to go, we usually just took it back to the room to eat. Since housekeeping does not come every day, I packed a regular sized garbage bag in my luggage and was so happy to have it for all the extra trash!

I actually have Sun HS, but we're only 2. If we do end up swapping it out, I could try to let you know before I do.

Great idea about the garbage bag. Never would have thought of that. Do you recommend just one or two family members go get the food then and bring it back to the room? I'm thinking that's what we'll end up doing for breakfast.

When you do mobile order, and when you get the text that it is ready, do you have to wait in that long line or just go to that table number?? The long lines are confusing as to why they are there?? Are people just waiting for their order to be ready? Isn't it easier to just wait in your room until you get the notification?

That's what we did - my boys are 16 and 13, so they stayed in the room while I grabbed the order for the most part. We did eat in the food court once, but it felt really weird! No energy or excitement in the air like usual! The orders come in a nice big paper bag, so you can use that for trash as well. I just found that we ended up filling the trash bag and one of those paper bags after a few days. 🙂

I think this response answers your question

So I am assuming no one knows the answer to this question. Is the long line due to people's order being ready and it is this busy to pick it up or are people just hanging around the lobby area waiting to pick up their order. I guess I will find out when I arrive.

In our experience, the pick up process for food was rarely backed up (drinks almost always were though), so I would say it's people just waiting for their order to be ready more than likely. It's a pared-down menu, so the orders usually didn't take too long to prepare, and hiking back to your room to wait for the notification (depending on location) may be more of a hassle.

I'm really not sure what information you are looking for that is different from what has been provided. Please see the bolded information below.

I think the confusion is that the picture shows what clearly looks like a line. It doesn't look like people spread out waiting to be notified that their order is ready. If you get the notification that your order is ready and can go to a cast member at that time, what are people lined up for? Why be in a line when you have to exit the line and go to the front when you get the notification?

People just love to join lines at Disney!!

I know at the opening to Magic Kingdom (pre-covid) one of the Vloggers used to show how guests could enter at any point along a rope yet day after day people formed a single file line that would get longer and longer rather than walking up to the front of the rope. Eventually a few people in the know would walk up to the line and then more would join them but by nature, we like to join lines....even when we don't know what they're for!

I just made the call to book a car rental for our trip in two days. I want the option to drive ourselves to HS in case the Skyliner line is too much. Now we also have the option to drive to MK instead of taking the bus (bonus!). With CBR opening tomorrow, I just have this feeling deep inside my soul that getting to the HS 10am opening time will be more difficult from Pop unless you are near the front. I could be wrong, but I'm glad I have a back up plan now.

Thanks for posting this @RaySharpton. Hopefully, this is an area that they can improve, especially with Art of Animation not opening until November.

I know, right! I just don't know what to think of all these changes.

Is this the line of people who have ordered and are waiting to pick up their order? Once your food is ready, is there an easy way to get to it or do you need to wait in this long line to get it and your food gets cold?

This is the only entrance, at this time, for both shopping and dining and not an exit.

Once entering a cast member asked if shopping or dining.

All other doors are designated in the shopping and dining are exits only and not an entrance.

Probably a longer wait than most would imagine after mobile ordering.

Once you receive your MDE app food order is ready, show the cast member and they will let you pass into the dining area.

Those numbers at the tables are for your food pickup that you go stand.

How much time should we budget for getting breakfast at Pop in the morning? We are grab and go folks - seems like it's going to cramp our style. Maybe grocery delivery is the way to go!

sunday Sept 6 is sold out at studios for resort guests and AP
