Is Pop at capacity for September? My friend wanted to book a room there Sept 9-13 and it says no rooms!

Yeah, I don't see any availability there right now even at rack rate.

That will probably change over time, but it doesn't look like there's availability right now. :/

We left $5 per day. There was only 2 of us, and we really only slept & showered in the room and left it pretty clean :) I also made little cards to leave with my tips so there was no doubt that they were for the mousekeepers. She left us thak you notes :) I saved them, they were pretty sweet!

Our mousekeeper at AoA last June stopped us in the hall as we were leaving our room one morning and thanked us for the tips. She was genuinely grateful and appreciative for them. She left something "special" in the room every day -- towel animals, a balloon, a card, etc. I actually ended up leaving a really good tip on the last day (I knew she'd be working because she had told us what days she wouldn't be covering our room). It felt good for *me* to spread some pixie dust during our stay.

Thank you for all of you who have shared your tipping. I've learned more about tipping options that I should consider for our upcoming trip.

I know there are a lot of weddings in the end of September (maybe middle too). A lot of Disney brides have room blocks in Pop Century (myself included). Those rooms wouldn't be back open to the public until about a month before the weddings. Yikes!

I don't know if this was the case when your friend was checking, but the website is saying that "booking is currently unavailable" when you try to check availability for any resorts right now. I was wondering if they were adding more rooms to the free dining promotion(?)

Reservations are back up but unfortunately Pop is still showing no availability on these dates. I would recommend to keep trying as hopefully something will eventually show up.

So they are doing the towel animals again? I thought I read that they stopped doing them.

I wanted to extend my stay (late September) and ran into the same thing, no availability even at rack. I was able to book my dates on Orbitz. Good luck!

- Free Dining
- When FD announced that moderates would only get QSDP, many jumped over to POP and AllStars.
- Lower rates for hurricane season
- Reduced number of rooms due to renovation
- Honestly I don't imagine you'll see many rooms open until the FD packages have to be paid off and folks decide to cancel.

Best bet is just keep checking but if she is going anyway, book something else she can cancel if something pops up.

I would have her keep checking... there was tons of availability in every category for my dates 9/5-12 last week at rack rate, and now there is nothing. They could be ramping up construction too, however. Who knows with Disney?

Someone probably already noted this, but this morning I saw that renovation is happening in Building 9 as well. Building 8 continues--it's not done--and I saw no action in Building 7, which I would have guessed would be next.

I remember reading that they stopped the towel animals a few years ago. I think it really depends on the mousekeeper. We got them at least once in addition to our arrival days on our stays at AoA in 2013, 2015, & 2016. I'm guessing Disney was getting so many complaints from people about *not* getting them that they simply announced that they were no longer having mousekeepers make them. Now if you get one, it feels like pixie dust.

Thanks @DavidHobart! Great news! We're visiting in September and normally request the 60's section but I want to try one of the refurbished rooms so am looking at new options in the refurbished rooms. Was hoping to request the 9100's area. Is this the building they're working on. Not too sure which is 'Building 9'? Is it the building with rooms that start with a '9'?

We got some towel and blanket 'art' as we called it. They were not animals, but fun designs made out of our towels and blankets. My favorite was my daughter's travel blanket (black) twisted into a circle and then two washcloths made into ears. Then our tip thank you note was in the middle. It was sweet!

Just to shed some light on the towel animals. I posted this about a year ago but still stands as true.

My aunt was a housekeeper at WDW for 14 years and recently retired. The towel animals were always meant for guests to take home if they wanted. Therefore, the towels the housekeepers use to make the animals are towels that are going to be taken out of "service" due to fraying, looking ragged etc. That's why they were not always left for guests because there had to be some that were going to be "retired". Not only did there need to be towels available to be made into animals, the housekeeper had to have the time to make them up. They were always meant to be something special, not expected. And as the guests started complaining that they are paying $$$ for the room or tipping $$$ and not getting towels animals every day, they have decided to stop the practice. Though there still are some housekeepers that enjoy doing it so much that they will still do it. But as a whole, they are not encouraged to any longer. So if you do get some, enjoy. But don't expect them
