Currently the Computer Pool is closed. The Hippy Dippy Pool closure will start in January

Thanks. As long as the kiddie pool is open for our youngest and the bowling pin pool is open we'll be fine. My kids have always been fascinated by the bowling pin shaped pool whenever they've seen pictures of Pop. When we stayed at All-Star Music they were fascinated with the piano pool .

Kids are fascinated by the strangest things, aren't they? My 9yo son was completely enthralled at the many many frogs and tiny lizards we saw throughout the grounds. I swear he had to stop and study each and every one of them, including the squashed frog on the walking path around Hourglass Lake. Hahahaha

I got an email advising me the hippy dippy pool is under rehab (we are staying Dec 17-29) which confused me as I know the computer pool is definitely closed for rehab. I read that the hippy dippy pool is open and the email was an error - is this true. We have a preferred room and requested the 60's and don't really want to walk past and see construction each day if the hippy dippy pool is closed.

I LOVE the 1950s and always request a Lakeview Room-Hourglass Lake is gorgeous and I love the Fireworks views there!

I love just sitting by the Bowling Pin Pool and listening to the Soundtrack with Elvis and all the 1950s records!

I feel like I have bowled a Perfect 300 every time I stay in the 1950s!

I hope you have a great trip with no gutter balls!

71 days till I arrive for my first stay at POP!

I know there is No Real Answer for this and it's Always Different and it's Pointless to Ask, but...

If you've stayed at POP multiple times, have you found an average/more common than not length of time for ME from getting off the plane to getting off the bus at the resort?

In 4 annual trips to POFQ, I've always been the 3rd stop after OKW and Saratoga, and it has always taken right at 90 minutes.

What are the odds I beat that going to POP?

From the Disney World site:

"From late October 2016 through early January 2017 the Computer Pool at Disney's Pop Century Resort will be closed for refurbishment. Beginning early January, the Hippy Dippy Pool will be unavailable. The Bowling Pool will remain open for your enjoyment. Please check back here for updates."

1950s-Lake View!!!!

I have heard handles are making a comeback to the mugs. Is there still a chance of getting mugs without handles? Please let me know my preference is without handle as it is better for stacking at home and for my car cup holders.

Just thinking out loud really but I wonder how they handle the inventory on these rooms. We are booked preferred in January. But if they start the refurb and take some of those rooms out, how do they make sure everyone who booked a preferred get preferred? Especially since rooms can be booked so far ahead and the refurb was pushed back.... Also I'll be doing a fax request and I would hate to request an area that's not even opened! Any thoughts on how to do that the best way?

With this last round of discounts, POP had MUCH less rooms available for the discounts. I think THAT is one way that they have limited the number of rooms for the refurbishment...
