FYI I called Pop today for my requests. I'm checking in 11/18-11/27. When I told her I wanted to be near the Hippy Dippy pool she told me they will be doing construction on the pool while I'm there.

The Call Center CMs are notorious for giving out incorrect information when it comes to refurbs, etc. This was one of those times. Hippy Dippy Pool will be open until mid January.

I called 407-934-7639 is that a call center #? I asked her if she was actually at Pop Century and she said yes she assists the front desk clerks and assigns rooms. She sent me an email after we talked and it was signed with her name and "back of house Pop Century".

That number routes to a Central Call Center. They are trained to answer and pretend they are at whichever resort you attempted to call.

Ugh I was requesting 60's and when she told me it would be under construction I requested something else. I really wanted 60s near hippy dippy. Now I don't know what to do

Unless a major change has been made within the last 48 hours or so, the Computer Pool is supposed to go down 11-28 until the middle of January. Then the Hippy Dippy Pool will be down once the Computer Pool is open.

It "sounds" like they know there is a Pool refurb for your dates and were just "assuming" it is the main Pool,Hippy Dippy,when,in fact,it is the Computer Pool first to be followed by Hippy Dippy.

Yes,the Laundry Rooms have "environmentally friendly" detergent only.

I'm not sure if Everything Pop still carries detergent and,if so,what brand(s).

There was Tide detergent in the gift shop at AoA this past June. Not sure what was in the laundry rooms there -- I didn't look.

Another renovations question: have they started doing rooms yet? Does anyone know what section will be started first and when they will be starting? We are going to be at Pop from 1/11-1/15 and I was kind of hoping I could snag a renovated room to see the changes. We've got a preferred room, and if I knew what section to request, I was hoping...

A new permit was filed for room renovations at Pop with the expiration date of 4/30/2018.

The Refurb has been pushed back to January.

It is not known where the Refurb will begin.

When you arrive at POP,I would just ask the Front Desk if any rooms had been Refurbed and released into Inventory and,if so,tel them you would love to stay in one if available.

Just thinking out loud really but I wonder how they handle the inventory on these rooms. We are booked preferred in January. But if they start the refurb and take some of those rooms out, how do they make sure everyone who booked a preferred get preferred? Especially since rooms can be booked so far ahead and the refurb was pushed back.... Also I'll be doing a fax request and I would hate to request an area that's not even opened! Any thoughts on how to do that the best way?

They normally work on some sections of the buildings at a time. And if they can't fit all the guests that booked Preferred into Preferred rooms not being worked on, those guests will be moved to another room type.
