I really want to see Disney Christmas next year but I cant find a way to get free dining at that time frame. My DH just shakes his head. Since I plan all our trips, he says for us to go a shorter time frame if I really want to go. But I was hoping to go for 10 days next year. :scared:

If you can find a decent room discount for that timeframe you'll probably come out ahead any way.

Once again you folks come through with great answers. I leave on a Sunday and Saturday I had dedicated to washing and packing. So, I should be able to head to a bank for some $5 bills. Also, since I'm driving from Tampa I can make a grocery store stop and get some change there.

Thanks again! T minus 51 days and counting.

Front desk will make change, as will the gift shop. It's easy to find someone to get change from at the hotel. Plus, you may want $1 bills as well.

Don't forget clean pennies and quarters for pressed pennies! (if that is your thing)

Hi all, (just posting this again as I'm keen to find out about sugar free!)

Does anyone know if they have sugar free syrups for their iced coffee's at POP? They have iced coffee listed as a snack item for QS and I would rather have a coffee than a sweet snack all the time.

Thanks!! :)

I am going Dec 5-12 next year....this years free dining which will be a quick service for value resorts is around 15 of december and I don't like going then because of the crowds. The first week of December is the taping for the TV christmas prade. Just doing go to MK those day and all the other parks are just about walk up to rides.

Can someone please tell me where the handicap rooms are? I am wanting ground level facing the lake.

This link has maps and diagrams of the resort. You'll have to read through the description on page 3 to understand which buildings have handicap rooms and compare that to the map that shows you which buildings will have some lake view rooms.

I'm pretty sure it hasn't hit me yet that I'll be at the POP in 34 days. I cannot wait to see it again, and honestly have a bus that isn't shared sometimes with two other hotels. I wonder if the bus boards are operating yet? (I know, I know super redundant question!)

13 days until check-in - this will be our 1st stay at Pop and we are so excited! Last year we stayed at ASMo and really enjoyed it but we wanted to try something different. My kids really loved the theming at ASMo and only agreed to try a different hotel when we showed them there were still Disney characters as part of the theme.

Called this morning to add a day to my reservation that finally came available after checking everyday and the cast member told me they had a refurb happening 10/2016-12/23-16. That was the first I had heard anything about it and she said she just found out this morning....not going to ruin the trip or anything but it caught me off guard so I thought it was worth mentioning. She said most if it has to do with the computer pool. Just a heads up! Happy planning!!!:mickeybar

@Heidi Lou, the following info was sent out to some guests last week informing them of the refurbishments happening during their stay. It appears to be sent when guests are a certain time away from their visit to WDW.

We are delighted you have chosen to stay with us at Disney’s Pop Century Resort!

In an effort to continually enhance the Guest experience here at the Walt Disney World® Resort, we often refresh our offerings and atmosphere. In preparation of your upcoming stay, we wanted to make you aware of a Resort refurbishment taking place during your visit.

While we are working our magic, it is possible you will see or hear our work in progress around the Resort and requests for specific buildings may not be possible to accommodate. Though some disruption may be unavoidable, depending on your location, we are making an effort to minimize the impact on your experience. As a result, we will attempt to limit any work most likely to cause a noise impact to the hours of 10:00am to 4:00pm.

Please know that we are working to ensure that your stay is both comfortable and enjoyable. If you need assistance with your reservation, please contact your original booking agent as listed on your confirmation letter.

When I called the other day to put room requests on my standard room reservation, I had the CM put 60's, ground floor. He said he was not sure there were any Standard rooms in the 60's building. I said, yes, they are on the backside. That hasn't changed right? There are still standard rooms in the 60's buildings?

It's just had me second-guessing that something had changed. Thanks!

Don't worry. :goodvibes

When I checked in 3 years ago, I was told standard rooms were only in the 80's and 90's. I even asked to speak with a manager who confirmed this. :confused3

The next morning I went down to check again, and everyone working laughed and said of course there are standard rooms in the 60's. I swear I felt like I was in the twilight zone.

Wow. I just read that they're not operational yet. That seems so strange to me, seeing as they were in place mid-April when we were there. I wonder why there's so much delay getting them working?
