I made a room request when I booked, I did online checkin and I did a touring plans fax. Phew!
I'm still waiting poolside for my room to be ready.
I requested ground floor sixties, building number five and they have told me that I am there, somewhere, I just don't know what room yet. I did request a particular room in this section, so I'll report back to say if I got it or not.

We are doing the same, requested on our ressie, online check in and TP fax.
Hope you get the perfect room! :goodvibes Can't wait to hear! Have a great trip!

I just saw your post! Looks like you did good! Make sure your report back to len that it was a success! Ours may be a little more difficult since we are asking for connecting/adjoining rooms. We shall see when November gets here!

A friend who is also checking in today did online check in and requested 50's or 60's. They put her in the 80's. I know she didn't do a fax request though.
WOW, sounds like they didn't pay any attention to online check in at all.
This past September, we had requested top floor, 60's, connecting rooms and got ground floor, building 2 (50's) with connecting rooms. Our most important request was connecting rooms so we were happy and we like the 50's but building 2 is a pretty long trek at the end of a full day at the parks :faint:

Is anyone here like me, and NEEDS my coffee when I wake up, before I get dressed? Even at a deluxe resort club level, I didn't like to have to get dressed to go to the lounge to get coffee!

The one thing I wish they had in the value resorts is a coffee maker.

I have a travel one, but honestly, packing it is a big of a pain. I don't want to lug it there and home.

Found the exact same one at Amazon (I love Prime!), the Black & Decker one, and it's only $15. I have the disposable filters already. I ordered it for our upcoming trip, shipped to the resort. I plan on just giving it to someone when we leave.

Yes, we have the refill mugs with our package (free QS dining), but don't want to drink it cold (I could fill it the night before), and don't want to go get coffee first thing.

I also shipped two Prime Pantry boxes, with water, drinks, snacks, laundry supplies, toiletries, ground coffee, etc.... It will make packing so much quicker and easier!

I figure what we're saving this trip, it's totally worth it! Last trip was at the BWI, and it was almost $300 a night (for just the two of us) including tax. This trip is so much less - including tickets and dining!

If we decide to leave it for someone when we check out, I'll post here. I would imagine someone would want it! The one I have at home, I'll send to college with my DD in two years. I only used it 12 years ago, on a trip to Hawaii, where the hotel didn't have a coffee maker. It's convenient, but I hate overpacking!

Is there a thread on paying it forward still? I know there was one for fridges years ago!

I totally agree. We also ended up in that building one year (with connecting rooms as our main request) and felt it was a loooonnngggg hike to the food court and bus stops. It didn't help that it rained almost the entire time we were there so the room seemed even further away. The next time we were at Pop we were again assigned to that building but as soon as the check-in CM saw the look on my face he said, "You're not happy with that location, are you?" and he immediately found us connecting room in Bldg. 9 in the 80's. That room was a much better location for us since it was closer to the food/bus end of the main building.

We have been in building 2 our last 2 trips and even though I would have chosen building 2 with connecting rooms than another building with no connecting rooms for those 2 trips (we were traveling with DD + 3 grandkids), building 2 is not our favorite even though we love the 50's section! We have loved building 1 and 3 during some past trips (thank goodness we were on the back side, away from the smoking section :crazy2:). I just know that 50's lake view and 60's lake view have gotten to be the most popular requests (especially top floor) so I am staying away from those requests this trip. I loved building 9 when we stayed there and we have also liked the 70's section. 70's seemed to be the quietest since there is no pool so we may request something in that section this time :cutie:

If we ever stay at Pop again (we've moved to a suite at AoA for the foreseeable future), I'll be requesting the 70's section. I like that location since it's so close to the main building. I'd rather have a longer walk to a pool since we usually only swim 3 or 4 times throughout the week and be close to the food court/bus stops that we walk to 3 or 4 times each day.

Has anyone stayed in the 70s section building 10? I've just got my room info and am curious about opinions. I checked touring plans already but my room was not a tp pick so I am a bit worried.
Also do they charge extra for king rooms if you request them? Thanks for any advice.

I haven't stayed in Building 10, but I've been right next door in Building 9. I think Building 10 is a great location. It's close to both the food court and the bus stops. I don't know why TP doesn't consider it a top pick...maybe because there's no pool in that section???? It's not a long walk to a pool either. Personally, I'd be happy if I was in Bldg. 10. In fact, I just said (in a few posts up thread) that if we ever stay at Pop again, I'd request the 70's section.

Thank you soooo much, I feel much better now. I haven't planned a Disney trip before and this is our first visit so I've researched and read so much but opinions differ so much that I doubt myself sometimes. Thank you for helping me.

Is there an additional charge if I wanted to get a king bed room? I might try when we check in at desk.

Just left POP after my first stay at a value. Got my exact requested room location (50's lake view - got bldg. 3 awesome view of lake and EPCOT fireworks!) Enjoyed the pool - surprisingly not crowded in the morning. My biggest gripe is with the open bus queues in the front. Why the heck aren't these covered??? They have a covering over the walkway but in the blazing heat, or rain it's just stupid. Very nice resort. But my DH didn't like the beds so back to mods or deluxe for us!
How were the beds...firm .?

No additional charge for a King bed at Pop. However, there are very few King rooms (and many of those are handicap accessible rooms) so while you can request that, it's just that -- a request -- there is no guarantee you will get one.

Hi! We are on the airplane home right now and were in the 70s building 10. I have to say, I would request it in the future! It is a very short walk to the buses and pretty quiet - you don't hear much noise from the "hallways." We got a king bed by talking to someone at the front desk upon arrival. Probably didn't hurt that we asked for a birthday button first thing for my DH. Maybe you'll get the room we just left! Enjoy!

Thank you so much for replying, have a safe flight home. We just got a king bed, our flight was heavily delayed but the king bed room made us instantly happy. Hehe so comfortable. I totally agree, it was a nice treat to see how close we were to the front, like wow! I'm so excited. I actually took your tip from previous post to just ask when we arrived, thank you!
