Pop Warner Mighty Mites and Tiny Mites stay at POP.

What are mighty mites and tiny mites? Little kids? I don't mind little kids, it's hoards of teenagers I prefer to avoid. I've dealt with them at ASsp during a cheer week.

Almost to single digits.....can I go to the food court and get hot water for oatmeal in the morning ? Will I need to take a container with me ? I go to get coffee in our mugs anyway

I believe you will need to take something for the hot water as its a self-serve area. Not sure they would give you a cup. Other's may have actual experience though.

We'll be there at the same time!! 8 sleeps for us!!!

I see a lot of people are not happy with the handleless mugs. We can only "hope" that Disney will take that into consideration and bring the handled ones back. And since someone brought there old one from the year before to re-activate, I think we might do that too. Honestly if Disney would have just thought about that instead of a handleless one, we would all be happier. But since we have free dining, I guess I wont have a choice about getting one.

I cant wait. We have 19 days to go. :dogdance::worship::lovestruc

I'm actually excited for the mug without handles and hope they're still around when we are there in 15 days! :cool1:
I'm excited to have something at home that will actually fit in my car cup holders... I have a whole collection of Disney mugs from past trips but unfortunately they sit unused because I can't take them with me in my car.

Anyone have experience with about how long your luggage takes to get to your room at night if using DME? We're arriving into MCO on 9/29 at about 7:30pm. I'm trying to figure out if I should let them get my luggage to meet us at Pop with just the stuff we need in our carry ons, or if it would be better to grab it ourselves and bring on DME if it's not going to show up until we're (or at least the kids are hopefully) sleeping- we want to be up early the next day for rope drop! Thanks in advance!

If you want to unpack as soon as you get to your room I would recommend picking up your luggage at the airport and taking it with you. The 2 times we've flown in in the evening out luggage has taken longer than normal to get to our room. The one time it took a little over 3 hours and another time it took 7 hours, with one suitcase arriving after 3am as I requested it be delivered whatever time it arrived.

I don't go until December so I will wait to see if they bring back the handles. I will bring an old cup just in case
but I will try the handless one to see if I like it.:flower1:

Any word on the room updates?

@scrappinginontario We decided just to stick with the quick service dining plan because with a toddler and a baby we thought it would be easier and less stressful (my toddler doesn't do well in restaurants. Thank you @elizabethswan. I called up POP and they told me they will hold for up to 10 days. Only 8 more days to go! I am super excited. I just got done making our family shirts, my own Minnie mouse ears, and an autograph book for the toddler (literally, a brag book with the covers replaced with Disney themed paper....a little over $3 in case the little dude doesn't like or is afraid of the characters...)

Since it can take up to 4 hours, I would get my own luggage personally and bring it on the bus. That way you can unpack and be ready for the next morning.

Thank you both for the input!

Just booked for a couple of nights Thanksgiving but not at POP this time. We opted for a family suite since their will only be 6 of us this time. I'm excited but a little sad that we won't be at POP. We had such a perfect stay while there this past Christmas. Hoping to be back at POP next Christmas (fingers crossed). I still will keep following along in this thread because I'm excited to hear how the refurb goes and enjoy all of the love shown in this thread to POP because my heart belongs there too!

Can anyone confirm that there are standard rooms in the 60's section. We're going with friends who have preferred rooms, and would like to be in the same section as them and as they have young kids they want close to the main hall.

Yes, I've stayed in a standard room in the 60's. The lake view rooms in that section are all standard rooms. There's a link to a map showing all of the room categories in post #2 on this thread. It's under the heading "room categories and rates".

thanks, I looked at the maps and as the standard aren't actually marked , just the other categories I just wanted to make sure I was reading them correctly.

I don't see on the map a laundry area in the 70's section, does anyone know it one is available in that area?
Also the new room looks goodpixiedust:. If coffee pots are included then what will it require filter or cup? I wish someone had a pick of the entire other side where the tv/dresser is located and the bathrooms.

There is a laundry room by each of the pools, so yes you'll have one in the 70's section.

The room photos of the renovated rooms are only mock ups; they're not set yet on the design (according to the room assigner I spoke with two weeks ago, due to our room type only having one free when we checked in). She said they're not set on what the flooring will be for sure, but that they're getting rid of the king/double roll in shower room type that we stayed in and are booked in for our next two trips. She did confirm that they will have a coffee maker. We bring our own to Pop, so that will be nice to not have to bring it! My guess is it'll be the same pod type that the deluxe resorts have, since they're small and not expensive? I personally don't like any coffee at Disney other than Starbucks, so may still bring my own maker!
