T - 10 days for us. It's the final countdown.
Bump!!Apologies if this has already been covered... We are visiting family in Gainesville prior to our Pop stay next month, so we will be renting a car. We are traveling with our 19 month DS, so will have a bunch of luggage, stroller, cases of water, and groceries that we will need to unload. Since there isn't valet, are we able to drop off the majority of our stuff with Bell Service to take to our room while the hubby parks the car? At our last Pop stay, we arrived in the middle of a huge storm, and were soaked by the time we got to our room. This was pre-baby so we managed, but will have a lot more stuff this time around.
Bump!!
I am requesting 60's Lakeview (same we had as last time), so a bit of a walk. We will probably ask for a cart, if one is easily available. My experiences at value resorts say that they won't bring your stuff to your room, but they will lend you a luggage cart. Depending on what room you end up with, it could be quicker for you to park and take things in in shifts than to go borrow a cart.
My husband always gets one of the carts. I think he had to leave his license with them....guess people make off with themI am requesting 60's Lakeview (same we had as last time), so a bit of a walk. We will probably ask for a cart, if one is easily available.
Thanks a bunch! We'll plan on doing the same. 45 more days!!!My husband always gets one of the carts. I think he had to leave his license with them....guess people make off with themIt's really easy to get one, right at the front doors where ME drops you off. He then just takes it back when we go up and get our mugs at the food court.
Just ordered my Amazon Prime box yesterday! $30 total, and got a case of Dasani, some orange Izze (DD wanted), shampoo and conditioner (she hates the combination stuff & it cost less than Target through them, minimizing packing), also snacks, disposable coffee cups with lids (making coffee in room - ugh I probably will bring my travel coffee maker), and a few other little things.
I know it'll get there several days early, but wanted it done! May send another one if we think of things; I have a ton of credits so only $.99 to ship!
Silly question: I like fresh air sometimes. Do the windows open? We requested high floor, lake view (standard), so may want to have some fresh air (if it's not too hot!). If not no big deal.
60's pool view is close to the main building. I would definitely stay there. I'm thinking the top floor would reduce some of the noise from the main pool.
Any Preferred room is going to get you closest to Classic Hall and transportion. Preferred is highlighted in yellow on the map below. 70's section does not have a pool but the preferred rooms in the 70's section are extremely close to the main pool in the 60's section. If you are assigned a room closest to the end of the building in any section it is, of course, going to get you closest and being on the ground floor is going to avoid having to go to the middle of the building to get to the elevator and then backtracking toward Classic Hall (unless you want to use the stairs). The only preferred area that is not closest to Classic Hall is the back part of the 60's. It faces the kiddy pool and is very close to the bridge to AoA. It isn't far from Classic Hall but the other area's are closer. Personally, if your most important request is being closest with the easiest access to Classic Hall/transportation and pools and as long as you don't have a preference of era's between, I would check "near transportation" and "ground floor" during on-line check in (example below).![]()

10 days and I'm getting antsy... nothing left to do! LOL I've been just youtubing things like crazy!
There were several types of tea bags available on the drink/condiment bars when we were there in September.![]()
Hey Happy Mom (or anyone else):
I think I want to ship a couple of things to POP ahead of time. I arrive on a Wed Oct 28. How far in advance should I hit up my Amazon Prime???
Thanks in advance.
I used Prime Pantry with Amazon Prime (ended up ordering another one as well, plus a Black & Decker travel coffee maker too - 3 boxes total!). It said to allow 5 days or so to get there. I ordered the first one almost 2 weeks ahead of time. Then the second one a couple days later (added some stuff, like other toiletries and coffee for the coffee maker, more drinks). All were there before we arrived, not too soon but not later.
I asked at the front desk the day we arrived for them to be brought to the room. We got up to the room for a bit, so I left a note and tip for the runner. He (or she) left another note saying it was their pleasure, left the boxes and didn't even take my tip. Shocked! I feel like bringing those boxes to the room deserved a nicer tip than I even left, but they didn't take it.
I'd say order at least a week before you're going to get there for Prime Pantry. And enjoy - it is one of the best things about Amazon Prime! Just sent a box to my son in college!
