Resort Thread Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT

Anyone know if cases or packages of bottled water still available at Moana Mercantile?
The cases of individual water have gone the way of the personal toiletries. Disney has been working to reduce single use plastics.

*1st time at the same resort 4 trips in a row. I love all of the options for rooms and food! 🥰
Yes I have been impressed with your commitment to a single resort. However is was / is fun to follow your many adjustments to your resort choice as the travel date nears. No pressure but make sure you check for any last minute options before you get to the Poly..

I’ll be at poly next week. 2 nights at CL in Hawaii and 2 nights Premium View Duo Studio one night,

I have done the tower twice with dh. Dd wanted to try but hard to get a good rate , oddly April was cheaper.

Any info looking for let me know. Last stay in cl was Dec and Tower April TPV and May Std deluxe studios.

I won’t lie I’m not thrilled about doing a duo but dd just gave me a beautiful granddaughter in April and wants to try the water side of the tower so here we go.

Looking forward to Pogmosas, the oasis pool, a dolewhip , waialulu, and a good view from the tower 🤞🏻

Oh got the water view in cl with BB cheaper than resort view with AP. Ice cream for desserts? Hope it’s still there.

I really enjoyed the duo studio the other week. The sink being right next to the door was a bit weird but the shower was great. Pull down bed very comfy (I left it down the whole time once I brought it down tbh). I wish it had a kitchenette sink, was weird washing my dishes in the "bathroom" one lol. But the space is used well.

Request 6th floor for premium view though. 6th floor is the highest up they go. I got that one after they stuck me with the awful first floor one and I went back to the lobby and asked to change. 8606 is the number, it was fantastic. Fireworks view is a bit strange but the balcony is big and if you turn left you can see the castle. Not my favorite TPV but still nice. If you look straight out you see CR. But the EWP view is perfect.

Thank you. Was thinking about possibly bringing a filtered water pitcher but not sure. I like to use the electrolyte/flavor packs in the heat, so the Brita filtered water bottle won't work.
We bring a pitcher and it works very well. Fill up the insulated bottles in the morning, add the electrolyte pack, and top up from chilled bottle refill stations, or the water spout at QS beverage stations as needed.

Touring plans and picture I have show 7 floors for the Premium Studii but 6 and 7 have glass to the left so a better view,

I get cha! We had 1st floor for our TPV in April and moved the next day, way better!

This room is after 2 nights with a nearly TPV(I feel water view at Hawaii is good, I can see castle from some spot on patio). Dd just ways to see it.

The 3rd floor garden is right next to the premium duo on that floor so i did get to see that view. Good enough.

Can’t wait!

What’s the unused building at the Poly that looks like some type of event center? What’s the history because it looks almost abandoned now. It’s somewhat close to the bus stop.

Tangaroa Terrace (Buffet breakast / Dinner) was a great dining location, and Lilo’s Playhouse Disney’s Childcare (closed in 2018). The latest iteration of trying to make use of the space in this building in front of the Rarotonga DVC building by the parking area that is being turned in to a dedicated drop off loop.

Unfortunately it will be returning to a guest use area. It is going to be renovated to improve the Cast Members area, add offices and storage for housekeeping and security.

ETA: add inform that Tikiman's Facebook Page.

We are Poly lovers. Many many stays in Club level theme park view (love those rooms) and lots in DVC Tokelau - Love everything about Tokelau- location, wide hallways, size, foliage around it, peaceful views, huge balconies. We love all things Poly. It is my peace, my happy place. Oasis is probably my favorite pool on all of WDW (save for Beach Club lazy river at exactly 10am to 10:30am before it gets packed with kids! 😂)

I was a Tower HATER. I was so personally offended by that big ugly building in my place! 😉 Well, we are at Tower right now for the first time and I’m sorry to admit I love it. The building is beautiful inside- the green lounging areas on the various floors are incredibly zen. The flow of the lobby onto the slopping grass to hang out and watch the fireworks with that beautiful themed bar/ restaurant area is fantastic. The lobby is stunning. They managed to achieve a peacefulness that feels 100% Poly. I wasn’t expecting that. The pool is small but so nicely laid out with an umbrella for every 2 chairs and the chairs aren’t packed together. It feels very relaxing as well. The hammocks are lovely. The quick walk to GF or main Poly is great. The gym is fantastic. It’s nice that it’s a little away from what can be an overcrowded lobby and beach area for fireworks. And the rooms are now my hands down favorite. The balconies are huge and so Private. The rooms are large and so well thought out and modern. Love everything about it! And the views are incredible- better than traditional Poly because you are up higher. Dead on view of the castle. And the sound system is fantastic for fireworks and water pageant.

Yep I love it there too! Moving from poly cl tomorrow tower duo with my adult dd to try. Did the deluxe studios with dh earlier this year.

My family visited wailulu and despite florida being the surface of the sun this past weekend we thought it was excellent...however $3 a wing..oof... same price as the wings at Nomad...also thought the burger was top notch but may still prefer Geyser Points more. Really wanted to crash into the Moana pool area it was so hot.

I think it may have been the Neverland Club at one point, too! For childcare. I seem to remember my parents leaving us there one trip.
Yes that 1/2 of the building was known as the Neverland Club, and then the Disney Club in 2014 before it's final version Lilo’s Playhouse Disney’s Childcare the same year (2014) and finally closed in 2018 as I mentioned earlier.

Thanks for confirming! I wasn’t 100% sure if that was where my parents “abandoned” us one evening MANY years ago! I remember having fun.

I wanted to check your room location since that is the view I hope to have, but Touring Plans shows 8562 overlooking the pool.

It’s a 2 sided balcony. One side is sort of looking over the pool a bit to the left and the the open left part of the balcony is dead on lake view. It’s a corner room where you can look out the two sides. Right side has wall divider to next room. I’ll try to take a better pic. It’s a GREAT room!
