Resort Thread Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT

Touring Plans does some things really well, but accuracy of King beds isn't one of them. That being said, if there are any Kings on the CL GV side (I'm not sure if there are or not) there are very few of them, which is consistent with the other Poly longhouses. I know there was at least one King on the LV side pre-renovation - but not sure on GV... or how the recent renovations may have changed things.

If you want to make King a request (or any other requests), DSS is a good option for CL guests. I've read wait times have been pretty stout recently.

Have fun!

I've suspected for a while now that when they assign rooms at deluxes they tend to prioritize solo guests for King rooms...from experience as a frequent solo guest, I can count on one hand the times I didn't get put in one, and I've never actually requested any. When I go with my gf is when I get put in the double queens. We're only planning on requesting a King room for the CL portion of our stay because being in Rarotonga in more important to us for the first part of our stay, but I didn't think to try DSS for the CL request.

Staying Poly GV club level for the first time in April. Are the GV club rooms in both Hawaii and Tonga? Or just Hawaii? I'd prefer to be in Hawaii if possible so just not sure if I should make that request. Thanks!

Regular CL rooms are in Hawaii. Suites are in Tonga.

Hi, we’re staying in a standard room this May and wondering if I could get some advice about a room request please? Where would you ask for? Does it matter?? We’re a family of 3, with a 10 year old - we don’t mind a walk and prefer a quiet room with a balcony.

Rarotonga is our favorite building with standard rooms. The first floor has patios and the 3rd floor has balconies - the 2nd floor doesn't have anything. It's very close to the GCH and Oasis pool, but not far from the big pool either. There really aren't any of the standard hotel buildings at The Poly that are a far walk from anything.

Niue is also a great building, but it doesn't have balconies - just patios for the first floor rooms because it is only a 2-story building.

Lovely, thanks so much.

We also love Rarotonga. We’ve stayed on the 3rd floor twice and had a view of the fireworks—not perfect, above other buildings, but it was so nice to sit out there after the kids went to sleep at night

Sounds great, can’t wait to be there!

Limited-Time Pop-Up Bar at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort!

If you happen to be staying at or visiting Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort this weekend, you might notice a new addition — a pop-up bar. A Cast Member informed us that Disney often sets up these pop-up bars for holidays and special events. She told us she thinks this one is here for Super Bowl Weekend. However, it’s also Valentine’s Day weekend, so it’s both a holiday and special event occasion — and both are good reasons to grab a drink!

Is the Touring Plans room finder still the best for room requests? We are staying CL, so would DSS be better?

Are the patio rentals still 60 days out? We haven't booked one since last summer and I didn't know if anything recently changed. TIA!

I was able to switch us over from WL to Poly 10/14-10/18/22! Only club level rooms were available when I booked the trip so I went with WL. This morning I was able to book a standard deluxe studio so I took it. The club level is tempting but we're taking our grown daughters that have places they must eat while we're there so I don't see paying for CL this trip.

The studios are awesome. That have a second shower. Makes getting ready on the morning quicker.

I didn't realize the studios have a shower! Thanks for the info. That will help with 3 women. LOL
The studio setup is 1 QS bed, 1 QS Murphy bed and a twin/youth size pull down bed. The second shower is essentially an extra bathroom with no toilet.

My adult son loves the twin size pull down bed. He is about 5’10” tall.

There are some good room tours for this room on YouTube. Just make sure you pick a recent one since the rooms were recently renovated.
