Are there laundry facilities in each long house? If not where are they located? Also, I'm assuming that there are small packs of soap you can buy, correct?

The building far right, bottom corner with laundry facing south. It’s close to bus stop. Yes you can purchase,

I don’t do laundry anymore, you may want to google how but Disney does have an app to find out what machines are available for the property, pretty cool.

Rarotonga would be a good building for hotel, If dvc Pago.

So, the comments about locking things up at the pool has me curious...is there a clock at the pool? That's probably the only reason we would take our phones with us.
Yes, next to the hot tub at the Volcano Pool. Not sure about the Oasis pool.

Just checked it out on Amazon and it had real bad reviews. Have you had any issues with yours?
Not at all. Worked exactly as we expected and made us feel much more relaxed when we went in the pool, to the beach, etc. Of course, my DW and I have never cracked a cell phone screen and we keep them for years, so we may not represent the typical users of anything. :)

Last summer we had an incredible vacation at the Polynesian. In April, we went to Disneyland for the first time, stayed at the Disneyland Hotel, and had a wonderful time. As special as Disneyland was, I really missed the Poly.

Next summer we are returning to the Poly. We loved our rooms in Raratonga. Our room was right across the hall from our daughter’s. Next time we are hoping to get connecting rooms in Raratonga. Does anyone know if Raratonga has connecting rooms?

I think all the building of poly have connecting for the hotel side. I can remember seeing them marked on tikimans maps.

Yes @trishadono is quite correct, Raratonga has 48 connecting rooms out of ~88 rooms (16 per floor x 3 floors). Here are the room number ranges for the Raratonga longhouse: x802 - x809 & x820 - x827 on each floor.

Where x - is the floor numbers -1 thru 3

We can't stay anywhere but the Poly because nothing else feels right haha. Poly is truly home!

Thanks so much for the info.

Sounds like it would also be good for us then🤣

I have a silly question. Does any one know if the breakfast potatoes at Capt Cooks are tater tots or something else. We stayed at POR and their tater tots were apparently the best my 8 yr old has ever had and he says the only thing he wants to eat when we go back lol

Have only seen tater tots at POR and POFQ. A few years ago we saw them at WL. Have never seen them at Poly. Sorry! But they did have them at Crystal Palace and Tusker House

Sorry if this has already been asked but if there are only standard rooms available does anyone know the chances of getting a theme park view on request? I know its never guaranteed even if requested but just wondered if it had happened to anyone or what the likely hood is? Thank you!

I have never asked for/requested a view that I didnt pay for. I suppose you could ask upon check-in if you could pay to upgrade if there was a room available. That's what I would do.

I would think if there were only standard rooms available, then no request is going to help.

The good news is, the standard rooms at the Poly are amazing! Many rooms are very close to the pools and the GCH. They are my favourite standard rooms for location at any resort. :)

I agree with others however what I would add:

When you check in tell them” there were not TPV rooms available when I booked, is there one now?’

They will check inventory and let you know options.

Even if they don’t have a castle view they MAY offer you a lagoon view uograde.

It is ok to ask, sometimes Disney inventory doesn’t match what they offer online. Just don’t expect a free upgrade. They may make you pay difference. I have had that happen and that was fine with me because I got what I wanted.

Last December we had a lagoon view and I had requested a balcony. When we checked in we were put on the first floor.....however, when we got to our room, it was amazing! We could easily see the castle and fireworks from our patio, with our bottle of wine was one of the highlights of this trip! Oh, and the Twilight Feast was the icing on the cake!
