Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT Information & Questions

So another luggage question...since we are having bell services move everything from ASM to the Poly, should I place luggage tags and locks on every bag? Now I'm second guessing myself about not having a car to keep things locked in while we're at the park in between resorts!! Does this make sense? Am I just overthinking things?

I agree with @trishadono. Sending luggage with Disney is perfectly safe, frankly probably safer than leaving in your car all day. We don't use luggage locks but no harm in using them if it gives you some more comfort.

You also generally don't want to be leaving your stuff in a hot car all day as you could have some things (eg, makeup) that can melt!

Have fun!

Hate that they took out ceiling fans!! They sure needed new plugs, in our last room the plugs on the desk were all worn out, some didn't work. What's the small H2O tubes? New? How many chocolates did you bring home. Lol! I'm still working on my GF ones. I don't want to eat the ones with GF on them :worried: sad they went generic.

I know you didn't direct this at me but here's a close pic of the H20 stuff...it's "Oasis Ultra Hydrating Cream." Both tubes are the same. Note this was a CL room so not sure if these same products are in standard rooms are not?

Actually the white tubes were not the same. One was a blue gel the other a blue/whitish cream. Both felt good but i liked the blue/white one better.

It was a nice cream for the end of the day for us oldies lol. Felt good! You youngin's would not have noticed :rolleyes1:rotfl:

I am a good mom so I sent ALL to dd's BF since he didn't mind I stole her the first week of his job. Hard enough moving to a new state but when mil takes your girl on vaca without you it was the least I could do.

However I have some from DL in June and have been eating those/only 2 left! However back in a month for more!

That's what I get for answering. NOT my area of expertise!

Wait a sec, I knew I wasn't crazy. In my room I must have gotten gypped... both were the Cream for me! I guess I missed out on the "Treatment." See below. HAHAHA!

On a note with the H2O products they are selling the face wipes and a foot cream that I bought 2 tubes of. The foot cream has the peppermint oil in it and boy were my feet loving that. I would put that on at break change my shoes then back into the parks I went with my happy feet.

DS got upgraded to Concierge (DH paid rack rate for his standard view room so he was happy!) and I didn't even think to look at what he got in there no wonder he was so excited and asking if he was allowed to take the extras haha

Just returned from another lovely visit to the polynesian! Stayed in Rarotonga which is our favorite for its location. Ground floor which we requested was unavailable when we checked invut they kindly moved us the next day to our requested location! Mousekeeping was outstanding! Truly the best we have experienced. We walked in to our room which was orderly and clean each day. Even got towel animals one day! On 2 occasions we were in the room when they came and they always came back later at our request. Every CM we met was friendly and helpful. Food was great and atmosphere even better! We had our first visit to trader sams which was so fun! Everything surpassed our expectations which is tough considering this is like our 5th or 6th stay! My only complaint which is the same one I had last year is the lack of shade at the pool! Please Disney! It is summer in Florida and I only want a few more umbrellas! Lol! Can't wait to go back next year! Staying at the poly truly makes our WDW vacations extra magical

OK, so if you can't get to Epcot by monorail until 9am, what other options are there? Can you catch a bus or no?
We were there a few weeks ago and were told there are NO buses to Epcot. Only option is the monorail or taxi uber, or drive. We took the 2 minute walk over to the TTC and waited a minute for the monorail and were on our way! Not bad at all. On the way back we walked from, the TTC again instead of waiting for the resort line. Much shorter!

We just got back from our first stay at the Poly. We rented DVC and were in the Tokelau building, on the 2nd floor. The entire stay was absolutely perfect! We had previous stayed at POR, POFQ, Pop, AsSp, and AKL. While we have enjoyed all of our resorts, Poly was on another level and we all agreed (DH, DS's ages 14,8, and 5, and me) that we never want to stay at another resort again.

I can't imagine a more perfect atmosphere. Everyone, from CMs to other guests, was so friendly and welcoming. We loved having the monorail as a transportation option. We watched the fireworks and swam every night. It was just wonderful and I hope to be back soon! We are hooked!

What alcohol drinks would any of you recommend and where can we get them after 9:00 pm? I know they have the lapu lapu, is it good? I want ones we can get to go and take out to the pool area.

We are headed to the Poly in September. We have a standard room booked. If we have the opportunity to request a specific longhouse, which would you recommend and why?

Both Tambu Lounge and the Trader Sam's outdoor patio are your best bet for later at night to go drinks.

I personally like the Backscratcher at Tambu Lounge, that's one of my favorites. A Lapu Lapu is always a good choice too, but I find it a bit too fruity. The Lapu Lapu is the one served in a pineapple, so already in a natural to go cup!

The Shrunken Zombie Head is good at Trader Sam's but has cinnamon which is a strong flavor in a beverage - I like it because it's not overwhelmingly fruity.

But really lots of great tiki choices at both places. And standard beer/wine menu as well.

Hope that helps!

When we were in traders we had a beverage . Then dd asked for one to-go for when we went to the room to pack. I know I have asked for to-go drinks at Tambu too. It's nice to stroll the grounds or just enjoy the balcony/patio.

At traders I loved the spikey pineapple! It's dolewhip with rum. Dd gets strawberry daiquiris all the time at Disney. Usually not on the menu but she still gets them.

The menu has good descriptions so check it out at Tambu.
