I just noticed your signature - are you also doing BC CL? We are doing BC CL after we do Poly CL! 1 week at both!

We are just at the Poly CL over July 4 week. We were at BC CL over Easter week. Best of both worlds -- those are my 2 favorite resorts and will be a perfect split stay for you guys!

With the construction on the east pool area which would you choose for the same price CL GV facing construction or TPV non club level? I'am currently booked for CL GV in October but I fear facing construction and the IPO told me they would be putting guest in those rooms.

Is there anyone from this thread that is currently at the Poly? I would love to get more of a first hand update on construction, CMs, and monorail, especially after the reports on FB today about the construction knocking down a power line and leaving a longhouse without power for 8 hours.

That would be a hard decision! It depends how much it would bother you having a bad view, and how much you think you'd be in your room during the day. I'd be in the lounge in the morning and in evenings. So if it were me, I would stay CL.

I just went over and read that about the power gotta say I am really worried about our stay. I don't need compensation and I don't care about construction walls and the like but I need power or a switch somewhere else. I have a son with special needs and I need power for various reasons. The thing that really concerns me about what I read was that it seemed like management was indifferent.

The response reported is what got me worried too, which is why I would like to know if anyone here is there and can share whether their experience was as reported on FB or more positive.

Just curious....

Ive stayed at the Poly several times. Mostly in standard or garden view room. Ive been to the pool a million times and walked the beach several times. The only "view" of MK I get is the tippy top of the castle over the trees. For a guest staying in a theme park view room, is the view any better than that? Are there rooms that face a spot across the lagoon without the trees in the way?

Aloha everyone! :wave2:

Does anyone know of an updated map of the Hawaii building that shows which specific rooms on the lagoon side are lagoon view and which rooms are theme park view? Tikiman hasn't updated his map yet.

Also, has anyone stayed Club Level recently? If so, how was the service and offerings? How were the front desk (in the Hawaii building) CMs??

Thanks! :sunny:

Aloha Seapray!

I stayed cl in April and May 2013 and May and November 2014.

Of course no construction is better but I didn't have any problems with the construction. Mainly due to the fact that I didn't have little ones who needed a pool etc, and have stayed there before so looking perfect wasn't a concern.

CMs and offerings were all good. I have now tried wl, cr, poly and gf Cl's. Poly for me has the most relaxing beautiful and spacious lounge area. It also is the only one with a bathroom too! It does not offer as many items as gf and wl but what it has is of great quality.

I find poly to have warm and friendly cams throughout the resort. The cl desk cm's are very good at what they do!

As for the map I believe the lagoon side that had some gv rooms temporarily on the first floor are all now lagoon and tpv. I am assuming the whole bottom floor exept MAYBE the first 1 or 2 near the lounge would be lagoon because the bungalows block the view of the castle. Many people commented on tikimans Facebook and here about the change in these rooms with views. I had one of these first floor sides both before and after construction and it was a very different experience. You pay a lot more for that side vs gv side.

So, if you want an actual TPV make sure to request view of castle. If you just want to see the lagoon then you will be fine. Even with construction I found it to be a beautiful view. Seeing gf, the bungalows and being on the beach were pluses.

Hopefully I didn't confuse you but just pm me if you need anything else.

I am going to gf cl in August not because of poly construction just that I got a great rate! I would go back in a heartbeat even with construction,

We will be there in October as well and booked CL GV.

With all the talk about the east pool and construction, I have to admit, it scares me. However, I agree with this and we are opting to stay put and stay CL GV. TPV is just too big of a price jump and honestly, I am sure we wont' be standing out on our balcony all the time. We are staying CL more for the experience of CL, not for the view. Besides, I am hoping there is enough foliage and distance between our room and the quiet pool that the construction won't really be a huge huge issue for us.

Do the longhouses have elevators? Wanting to request third floor Tuvalu (TPV) but wondering if that means we will be carrying the stroller up and down the stairs.

meganhernandez, Niue is the only longhouse without an elevator. But even there, it is a simple matter of walking across an elevated walkway to use Rarotonga's elevator

We will have to keep an eye out for eachother in the lounge! We'll be the ones with a little 4 year old blonde who doesn't look like either of us! :-)

Does anyone know if they are still doing hula lessons in the GCH or if they are doing the torch lighting ceremony? Thanks!

Are their any reviews and views of the bungalows with room #'s?
I have been looking for the same thing. I was told by the Resort that the Bungalows are numbered 7001 - 7020. The 7001 Bungalow is the closest to the pool and first in line of the 13 Bungalows The numbering continues with 7014 in the second cluster of Bungalows. I have not been able to read a "trip report" of them and plan to do that myself when I check in next Friday. Earlier in this thread, I offered to do "live" reporting of the Bungalow and the Resort while I'm there. Let me know if there is anything that you would like to know and I'll check iot out
